This should be called "explaining the anime" because that's what happens. The main character explains things.

Phantom in the Twilight
I think this is a Chinese show? In any case its set up like a reverse harem with supernatural stuff. The main girl actually seems pretty good. I liked when she was like "I'll distract this random monster while you run". This is another show I don't think is going to be good, but this is probably the best looking Chinese show and I think that this first episode was better than the game king one which people liked but I found kind of eh.

Drop Kick on My Devil
So I like the designs this show has. I think the characters look really cute. That's probably enough for it to get a second episode to see if the comedy improves because you can only go so far with the meat joke.

Angolmois
I think this looks pretty good but like the actual animation is a different story. There is like a lot of closeup shots to hide the fact that they don't really want to animate a lot of stuff in the background. It's somewhat rare that two or more people are in a frame for long when they are both moving and I think the show really draws attention to this at the start. It does ramp near the end but I also think something is off with the actual character designs themselves. This is a hard sell on me.

Shinya! Tensai Bakabon
Tensai Bakabon is an ancient work that is being brought back for some reason to anime form? I don't really know like I watch a lot of anime and know a bit about its history and I only have like passing knowledge about this, and when I say that I mean "oh... I kind of heard about it somewhere." Type thing. Like who is the audience for stuff like this? The first episode was actually kind of good? It's a lot of fourth wall breaking and acknowledging how outdated the show works. The problem is that that works for one episode and that's it. So it would not surprise me if it just kind of flops in episode 2.

Tenrou: Sirius the Jaeger
This is a netflix show so the sub that's out for it is really bad. Like awful. So I don't really know where like the production issues of the show start and where the encode is just fucked up too. In any case this is some sort of supernatural mafia show thing? Honestly it's pretty well animated but I did find some of the voice work to be iffy and I don't know there is like little to really be interested in here.

Free S3
So straight away it's very obvious about the production value this. Like there are actually multiple things happening in one frame at the same time. Also the American coach has like the best English I've heard in anime. If you would say it was an actual native English speaker I would believe you. I was actually on the fence of like if I was going to pick this up simply because I think that the series overall has been a little too angsty, but now that Haru has basically become not a complete loner maybe they'll be able finally balance comedy and sports stuff.

My current account has priest, warlock, mage, and rogue as golden classes. Paladin is like 40 wins away but I dont want to play paladin in this meta right now. After that hunter has like 250 or something because thats what I used when the account was new. Druid is next. I probably have under 30 wins with warrior and shaman combined.

Some quick thoughts

Magnetic seems like a decent way to use buffs without having truely dead cards. Because of the way other cards work I guess the card would activate automatically if you have a mech on the field meaning there is some play mechanic limitations to think about.

Projects is like eh. Idk. I was never a big fan of symmetrical effects.

The shaman legendary look nuts but how the recasting works will go a long way to determining its true power.

Also draw your deck lmfao. First thing I thought of was like strider and getting a lot of spooders to be instantly killed or speeding plagued out of the game. Not 100% sure how good this actually is

Lol scrap that I just hit legend. I got there using mind blast priest from like rank 2 3 stars up to legend. At rank one I queued onto the only cubelock on ladder three times in a row (and swept) so that helped, haha.

I had an arena game versus a shaman who played lighting storm three times and totemed after all three times. He also highrolled all three. I was like please dont lose to this guy. But the final thing he did was evolve a taunt before he attacked into my guy and like why are you evolving a taunt and not a random totem first.

Darksiders was a game that combined dmcs style combat with Zelda like dungeons and puzzles. It does both really well. The combat is not quite as good or inventive but its decent. Some of the dungeon puzzles can be tedidus but they are also more challenging than Zeldas most of the time due to the main audience being older.

Master of Ragnarok
You ever wanted to put all the bad stuff of isekai shows AND harem shows AND op main characters in one episode. Here we are. Like it's not even that it just does all of these things it does them so poorly. There was another isekai with a somewhat similar premise called "The ambition of Oda Nobuna". The difference is that the latter is a great show that started with a good setup episode and clearly took time to start to build their characters early. It also uses a similar concept with the main character using modern technology to help him in his battles, but it's not like a huge focus. Also, Oda Nobuna is probably the best genderswap anime character I can think of right now. The cast of Master of Ragnarok just screams "lets hit every fetish we can, who cares about personality?" It doesn't even have fan service from what I see. This is probably not the worst show... but it's also one where the perceived upper end is rock bottom.

Cells at Work
I really liked this. The two main characters (red and white) are great. The villain basically being some sort of dbz ripoff character was great. There was a lot of good humor in this. I thought the platelets being little kids was cute. I mean I guess the final boss is like cancer or something. I don't know. This was very entertaining all the way through.

Asobi Asobase
These characters are hilarious. The facial expressions are amazing and I think the comedy is spot on too. The use of music and sound is also really great. This is a pretty top tier in how its executed.

Banana Fish
I thought this was great. Really good immediate world building and getting the characters base personalities and roles in the world revealed. Some good pieces of animation, this has a lot it can build off of. However, this is also Mappa studio and to say I don't like their work is an understatement. I do think this is the best first episode I've seen of one of their shows, but that doesn't say much as they do have like multiple entries of shows I really hate despite only being around for a few years.

Harukana Receive
I really like Haruka, not sold on the other 3 yet. Narumi has a 11/10 body though. I liked how they used the first match to not only show off some basic techniques and issues that are only present in beach volleyball, but also as a way to display Haruka's learning and levelheadedness (at times). This show looks pretty good too but it doesn't get me really excited in terms of a sports show. Like it just seems a little too mundane or something in comparison. But maybe they'll pick it up.

Miss Caretaker of Sunohara-sou
So this is a show about like a shota (who looks like a girl and has a girly name) who moves into a previously all girls dorm because he's tired of being a trap or something. The caretaker is a big boobed lady who has no understanding of whats in fan doujinshis and just seems like an exceptionally nice person. I thought this was kind of cute starting off but when the rest of the cast was introduced it got a lot more comedic. This show has a really good base cast to make a good comedy and I think of all the shows I've seen for the first week this is among the most consistently enjoyable.

Planet With
A giant cat and no one cares. The art style is like almost comedic in itself. the maid girl 100% looks like she could be some sort of robot. Also, it like starts with the main guy saying he wants some meat. I never knew this was going to be the yaoi show of the season. In any case the show starts weird and it like gets weirder. I mean I think some of the sequencing of events was kind of dumb, like who in the hell just launches an attack first? In any case this has some great sound work and this has a ton of some pretty good potential from what I've seen.

Had a game versus heal zoo as taunt Druid. Im second. Im playing the old list with UI. He starts with imp I pass. He taps and I play growth. He plays more stuff and I oaken. He drops dreadlord and I have to naturalize it and play a ironbark or whatever its called from hand.

Now my hand is like dragonhatcher, oakheart, hadronox, sleepy dragon, primordial drake, I top deck the other drake. So my turns were coin into drake, drake, sleepy dragon, ui (which I drew in one of those turns). In any case the UI got me the second naturalize so I won after that.

Im pretty sure that was never substantiated. I never heard of actual proof and news sites just reported it without actually double checking facts. The entire thing was started by a image meme that was made when the show was just starting out. There was also another post with an actual threat but I dont even know if an origin source was actually confirmed.

My general problem with franxx besides like pacing and bland characters is that everyone just kind of stumbles upon issues and the solutions without really needing to work to get them. They only change because their situation requires them to and not because any of them really grew as characters. Like that one episode where random side dude got lost in the city should have started a lot of wonderment of things being kept from them but nope. This is like a common trend throughout the entire show.

Ongaku Shoujo
Oh god it's an idol show. Anyway some girl from Germany goes to Japan because she like really likes idols or at least she thinks she does (or maybe her mom is Japanese or something and her dad is German it seems.). The main girl, Hanako, also seems like shes not too bright in the head, but she ends up being like a dancing prodigy AND has photographic or something. But she can't sing at all... it's pretty great. They also did a pretty good job at giving the large cast a lot of base character traits without actually doing explicit introductions. I like the glasses girl and and the twintails girl. ALSO THEY DID NOT DO A CG IDOL DANCE SEQUENCE. WHAT YEAR IS IT?

Angel of Death
The atmosphere here is really good. I like how they kind of let you in on how the setup works but not all of it. I think the amnesia part is kind of dumb. The main girl is cute, and it's pretty obvious that the scythe dude is going to be a main character even if you don't look at any of the media for the show before hand. Also, this is based on an RPG MAKER GAME? In any case I do think that the writing lacks subtlety.

Chio's School Road
Lmfao the main girl is great. I liked the part where the kid was like "A hero who helps someone in need... assassin". I have to say I think this show should be like... funnier? Idk. I liked it but the comedy is not quite there yet.

How Not to Summon a Demon Lord
This show has a lot of plot. But the episode was not that engaging imo. Still kind of entertaining. Based on the girls I saw in the OP the designs are pretty good.

100 Princes
So there is clearly more work and polish put into this over that other mobile game anime that is being targeted towards girls. Like they actually introduce characters with somewhat distinguishable personalities and a basis for a plot. That said it's not like the production value is good or anything and I think the mascot character is pretty lame. Like how he basically told us everything before stuff happens (where they could have filled us in then) would have made it flow a lot better. I also like that the girl is not a total loser... or actually a total loser depending on your point of view. I'm on the fence about this one. I don't think I'll like this but it's not awful.

Back Street Girls
Okay so as funny as this concept is and like as funny as some of the episode was... it's just so bad to watch. Like I actually think this is something I would have kept around a few years ago but animation quality has become increasingly important for me and this is like atrociously bad in that area. It's too bad because I actually think a lot of the other things in the show are pretty good.

Seven Senses of the Re'Union
So the first thing we see is like a bad CG Hydra dragon thing... great start. We then get some random nobodies to tell us about the main cast as they kill a boss monster. I mean we could have just gotten the main cast to tell us about themselves when they killed the boss monster. But that doesn't matter because the real show starts in the middle. In any case I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this. Like I don't think this is good but it'll take a second episode probably to see where they take the story.

Thoughts on some stuff I saw

Island
I like the hairstyles the girls have. There is some pretty good uses of in scene timing in this episode and I wonder if they'll keep up this awkward type atmosphere. Amnesia plots are always kind of iffy though and even though the show touts a reason for it... there is already an immediate guess I can make. In any case what is more notable is the sound mixing and music are like really good. I thought the voice work was also a note worthy high point here.

Hanabado!
So if I had a major complaint is that I think this episode tried to do too much in one episode. I feel like it was emotion baiting when we don't have a basis to really be invested. I can see this being good, but sports shows really need to impress me pretty quickly. The really good ones (Haikyuu, Chihayafuru, One Outs, etc) were all near immediate hits and some of the other ones I think are pretty good (Scorching Ping Pong Girls, Soft Tennis, there might be another one here I can't remember) have other qualities besides sports and drama related to sports to really keep me watching. The animation here is impressive but I also feel like some stuff in this episode are like episode 4 of 26 type things.

Senjuushi
Immediately do you know what makes me annoyingly upset about shoujo shows? Or at least something like this is that is fujobait? When they make title cards for characters for no fucking reason, especially when they could just easily say their names (and in most cases they do). Some other shows might do this, but they put like a big arrow to look at this plaque we made for this introduction. This is not even like new girl sees hot guy and flowers surround him... the card was just there exclusively for the viewer. I have not even into the anthropomorphic weapons and such. I actually dion't have as much of an issue with the latter part since there is a very good series that did this called Soul Eater.

In any case this is beyond low budget. I mean maybe it's not fair because I watched two beautiful looking shows right before this. There is this one scene where some guy is writing something in a notebook at like 5 frames per a second and when the guy next to him goes to talk he stops moving. It's not that he stopped, it's that it's so obvious this happened. I knew this was going to be bad, but this is like really bad.

Mr. Tonegawa Middle Management Blues
So I have not seen Kaiji which I immediately can tell this is a parody of because well... the start of the show. I'm not even sure if that would like enhance the enjoyability of this. The biggest and most consistent issue is the narrator. I want to say I have the same issue with the one in JoJo, but this one is just so much worse. Like even though it's unintentional (I think) the narrator in Jojo is almost somewhat comedic. The narrator in a show like Killing Bites I'm almost certain is purposely put in because it's stupid. This shows narrator tries it but it has less of an impact than those two shows (well less of a positive one). Like he's really overselling things too.

I did laugh at a couple of scenes, like the one where he entered into the bosses office. I also liked when Tonegawa literally went "you all look the same" to a lot of copypaste characters. Like when stuff is actually happening the show is kind of funny. Like when they they were introducing themselves, and they all like bowling. But the narrator needlessly slows everything down. IMO this is something that probably should have been a half length or like a 6 minute if it means eliminating the narrator and speeding up the pace.

I just wolfed some dude two games in a row

Hes combo priest and Im odd rogue

Game 1 hes like really behind so like its not that amazing but I wolf into glittermoth and play it on 5 with two minions. The next turn I void ripper. Who has the combo now.

Game 2 he has a Big radiant out early but I wolfed into duskbeaker which I was able to activate because of scalebane, and it combined with deadly poison let me clear.
