I just watched all of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. I enjoyed it quite a bit!

I would've preferred it if they proved Menma was there earlier (seriously she can interact with physical objects, have her do something so they don't think you're crazy) but, like... I feel like getting caught up on stuff like that would be missing the point of the anime. The thematic focus here was clearly on the emotions of these people trying to come to terms with what happened then and where they are now. And, emotionally, this anime fucking delivered. I'm a sucker for stuff like this but even with that in mind I thought it was very well done. I always felt the emotions it wanted me to feel and I'm still kind of reeling from that ending. Still, that ending montage helped me believe that those kids are all going to be alright.

Crunchy has S1 and S2 (in Canada at least, could be different elsewhere I guess). I'm planning to watch Aria too later this month.

I just appreciate the blatant pandering from how they shoehorned it into Pretty Derby for no reason. The fact that random silliness like that can just be included is something I enjoy about anime.

Two episodes in and Umamusume: Pretty Derby is decent so far! It seems to be prioritizing fun over anything else and I can certainly appreciate that. Special Week has been a good character too.

I finally started My Hero Academia, hoping to get through it before the new season starts. I'm not quite done the first season but it's good so far. I'm liking the characters and how they're using their unique powers in creative ways. I also appreciate how Deku isn't completely useless even if he can't control his power yet. He held his own like a boss during that training exercise. It has a lot of similarities to One Punch Man (which I also watched recently) with the different heroes and whatnot, but MHA is obviously a very different style. OPM being overpowered was fun but so far I'm enjoying how this anime is handling things a lot more.

I didn't like the drama in Chunibyo S1 much either but for what it's worth I thought S2 was a huge improvement. It still had serious moments and whatnot but it was handled better overall.
