| davidponte 05/21/18 6:13:27 PM #468 | I just had the most satisfying game against a bad Cubelock player that involved his turn 6 Voidlord getting polymorph'd, followed by him getting unlucky by pulling a Doomguard off of his Lackey and BOTH of his Dark Pacts getting hit by Counterspell. Obviously a half-decent player wouldn't directly play into any of those things, but it felt good to essentially say "lol no" to all of his plays. --- Posted using GameFlux |

After doing what they did to the Preds, who were many people's favourite going back all the way to the beginning of the season, they kind of just rolled over and died against Vegas. I looked back at my last few years of gaming purchases on Amazon, and it's usually only 1-2 games a year that I pay the full $80 Canadian for. I had a bad first impression and dismissed the mode, but decided to power through it to finally complete these quests and one-tried both Cannoneer and Houndmaster while having a great time. I hit random on TV Tropes a few times and got "Gambit Roulette". Persona 5 is on my backlog and it fits there so that's what I'm going with. 95 hours later, I beat the game and also got my 50th platinum trophy! The optimization required to 100% this game is pretty insane, so it was definitely one of my more challenging platinums, which was the goal for number 50. As for the game itself: Fantastic. Definitely my favourite game of 2017, and a great experience for my first Persona game. 25/50 Halfway there! --- The final Undisputed Champion in UCA history. |

I wanted the 50th platinum to be something special and figured a 100 hour JRPG fits that. It also ended up being one of my more intensive platinums, in terms of the amount of stuff to keep track of and the optimization of routes. It feels like everything that is good got hit, rather than the usual "let's kill this deck and make the decks around it even more powerful". I'm not really sure what's going to happen at this point. Will we see the same decks because everyone's power level went down, or does something like Mage, which wasn't hit, rise to the top? Should be interesting.
