I disagree. Although Wakanda is featured in the movie, the characters don't actually do much. Shuri does MORE than Black Panther in the movie. Doctor Strange, on the other hand, is a vital part of the movie. So his introduction, and the Time Stone's, would be more important.

I'm gonna say this is up to interpretation about what an individual thinks is key to understanding a movie. From my perspective, Doctor Strange makes sense as a character in Avengers 3 regardless of whether or not you've seen his movie to understand his exact motives. It's great to have additional backstory on the time stone, but really if it had just shown up with no explanation beyond Doctor Strange saying "Look I found the time stone, it was Milwaukee all along," there'd be no problem.

There's a little thing around his neck that's pretty pivotal to the film.

Sure, but you learn what Infinity Stones are in multiple movies, including Avengers 3. It's not like you need to know how he obtained the time stone to understand what's happening in Avengers 3, you just need to know that he has it, which the film makes clear immediately.

It depends if you care about building the lore of the universe or not.

Yes, this is a better way to put it, but Wakanda features heavily in Avengers 3, while Doctor Strange is just another superhero in a group of superheroes who doesn't need explanation beyond "he's a wizard," so I still think BP is more important to understanding Avengers 3 than DS. But neither is absolutely necessary like the other movies.

Avengers 2
Captain America 3
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Thor 3
Black Panther

Doctor Strange and Captain America 2 are also important, but you can probably skip them in the end since CA3 explains what happens in CA2 and Doctor Strange isn't really that critical except to introduce a few things.

t does relate, actually. Over the next ten years before ANH, Han sees first hand how the Rebellion and the Empire operate and becomes jaded to them both. Having a conscience as a young man when a young girl tells you a sob story is much different from hardened Han ten years later. He probably bases his policy of only wanting money on constantly remembering giving away all that cash ten years prior and seeing no difference made because of it.

What you're effectively saying by this is that ANH Han is no longer a skeevy guy who unwillingly grows a conscience, but rather a former hero who rediscovers his own innate goodness. That's an okay angle to take for a character I guess, but that's not at all how it's presented in the OT. It's almost a different character entirely. It's like if in Lord of the Rings it was revealed that Gimli already had an elf friend when he was a teenager, they had a falling out as they got older, and then he rediscovers that elves can be okay. It's not exactly a contradiction of what's presented in the original work but it's not at all how things were shown.

I'm not going to say it's a bad movie. I think I'd like it a lot more if it was a random guy instead of Han Solo. I just think they didn't think or care about how it would relate to ANH.

I also understand that Han Solo was supposed to be a bastard until ANH but he doesn't consider himself a good guy in Solo either

and lets be honest, him helping the Rebellion was more a byproduct of him getting out of his current situation and trying to come out on top, it was still driven by selfish desires

He had the opportunity to just steal all of the fuel at the end and not go back to the rebels, but he gave them everything.

And I realize that Han thinks he's not a good guy in Solo, but it doesn't matter, the movie makes it clear that he is. Han was clearly just a thief in ANH who doesn't care about the Rebellion or the Empire except in how to make money until he has a change of heart over time. With Solo in mind, Han was always a good guy deluding himself into thinking he's a scummy smuggler, he's always favored the Rebellion, and Chewbacca's roars in ANH were probably nothing but"Why don't you want to help them, Han? Remember that time we saved the Rebellion and gave up 60 million dollars like nine years ago?"

I didn't really like it.

The whole idea of Han's arc in ANH and the OT is that he goes from not caring about the galaxy to becoming a good guy. But now he was involved in the founding of the Rebellion from the start and gave up a ton of money to the cause?

In fairness, I should say that I also am not crazy about making a movie about Han Solo at all. The only backstory you needed about him was that he was a smuggler who won a ship in some kind of bet and that he's friends with a sasquatch, making a movie out of that and a few throwaway lines is crazy to me. In the space of like a week, Han meets Chewie, completes the kessel run, and wins a ship from Lando. It's like everything he said or implied in the OT has to be condensed into a single film when none of it needed more than to be left as a vague background thing.

I'll say that I liked Emilia Clarke in this more than I expected. I hated her in Terminator 5. I also liked the old smuggler guy. This was balanced by the Han and Lando actors being whatever at best. Didn't care for the droid, but didn't mind her.

I also didn't mind Darth Maul showing up, though it felt like a Marvel movie where they're just setting up more stuff for later movies and like they needed to insert a lightsaber somewhere into the movie.

Scrappy

I thought Shaggy and Scooby were idiots. Daphne was just eye candy, Fred was like 'lets split up" and Velma is cool, but she was useless without her glasses.

Scrappy actually was brave and wanted to fight the monsters (which were never really monsters or ghosts, but Shaggy and Scooby still thought they were) In the first one with actual ghosts, Scrappy actually didn't rush into the ghosts.

It wasn't until AFTER Scrappy left that his behavior would be stupid, when the villains were really ghosts and monsters.

So I am seriously voting for Scrappy. I might be the only person who liked him, but I didn't really care for the show and thought Scrappy was breath of fresh air. Yet Shaggy and Scooby got all the credit for not doing anything but eating and running away and getting lucky.

Its kind of sad when I look at the "scrappy" lists on TV tropes and most of them are my favorite characters from that show or game.

The real monsters showed up as early as the crossover episodes with the Addams Family.
