Talking to someone about "this Italian guy I saw" or "this Indian man" is much more tame than "this Mexican guy I saw" The reason is that there's more exposure to Latin American people both due to immigration and the media and so the word "Mexican" has a connotation of an angry blanket statement on people while other ethnicity words are more purely identifiers. --- |

That's fine, they need to be aware they're in the later years of PS4 life cycle and such, but it's okay for the game to take some time to make it great. But what do you actually DO in the game? The latest E3 trailer showed a lot of walking and climbing and the weird light sensor, but that's about it. I guess they showed those guys with guns in that one trailer but do we fight them or just run away? We don't even really know if we interact with them since I don't think the protagonist was in that trailer. I dunno, you can only ride the hype/morbid curiosity of 'unfiltered Kojima' for so long. --- |

| Doe 06/30/18 10:31:15 PM #4 | Maybe I just played 4 too much but looking back it's as though the game rode out its entire lifespan on pre-release hype and series drought. The music was the weakest in the series and although tripping was removed, the game's still pretty slow, there's more combos but so much of that is down throw gratification and shield/dodge was extremely powerful. The single player honestly was pretty bad, Dark Core was the only cool thing added imo. There were some really questionable item cuts (no cracker launcher??). Although there were a ton of stages, there were way too many where the stage basically fights the player, the game still had a pitiful selection of 'fair' stages despite all the ones there were (FD, Battlefield, Duck Hunt, Town n Titty, Smashville). They had to let fucking Lylat Cruise into the rotation since Duck Hunt was deemed to allow camping too easily. Speaking of camping, movement was still pretty fucking lame and some new mechanics added in Brawl like gliding were removed because they couldn't be assed to balance it (rip Shuttle Loop, sweet prince). Like I can see myself occasionally going back to Brawl and messing around a bit, it has SSE and some pretty fun shit happening even if its busted. Smash 4 doesn't have personality I feel. It's very NSMB-y. --- |
