This is one of the few times when I've seen them carry out a plan without a hitch and without Yang on site. Though when Julian's present things usually go well, I'm kinda surprised Julian doesn't flinch when killing soldiers up close. He's mostly done his damage as a pilot. Though while Yang's subordinates are more competent than the old guard, he's still shackled by bureaucracy. He's stuck as a token figurehead on El Facil, while Reinhart has free reign to operate.Kinda like that for now, because while we wish for Yang to be able to do whatever he wants, in the context of the story, he can only do that if he assumes a dictator role. --- Congrats to Eli Ayase's #1 fan BK_Sheikah00 on winning the BYIG Guru Contest. |

| voltch 05/28/18 1:05:29 PM #337 | LOGH - Ep 69 At this point a lot of the upcoming battles are foregone conclusions, but they've also built up solid reasoning explaining as to why this will happen. The Alliance fleet is about to get destroyed, but they have clearly shown for a few episodes that this is but a token resistance, while Yang's forces continue to grow. The Iselorhn capture is also something that's been shown as inevitable. There's been very few plot twists, mostly because the whole though process gets shown from both sides. The biggest twist so far being how the Alliance was defeated in the first place. But even then machinations were hinted at to protect the Kaiser from himself. Looks like Julian won't be the only young gun making a name for himself in the second half of this show. The playable characters have much more human proportions now, they got normal legs and even knees! I don't know if things will change, but up through the first big encounter, the rules of the game are pretty set in stone and the participants are all planning and reacting according to what's possible. They spend a number of episodes showing off the skills and mechanics and their drawbacks/limitations. That gave more believability to w/e they do in this game's world. With SAO combat, because the stakes are so high, a greater number of outside factors and outright cheating are in play. This gets resolved through talents that weren't previously disclosed in the episodes (if they were in the LN that still doesn't help for anime viewers only), or last minute saves. Plotting is a separate issue, because I can see why people would prefer higher stakes story arcs to self contained stories. But for just the battles, I'm gonna prefer GGO which sticks to a meta of sort, over SAO which removed a lot of the strategy and had Kirito brute forcing a lot of fights because he is so damn good at all the VR games. --- Congrats to Eli Ayase's #1 fan BK_Sheikah00 on winning the BYIG Guru Contest. |

What we lost:   Gintama is a comedy that's p popular but those who dislike it, really dislike it. This applies to a lot of things, but yeah praise the comedy at your own risk. What I will say, is that for a comedy it tries really hard to have the drama bits be the most memorable moments. Previous Result: SMFAS 4: 70th There are many tiers when it comes to Jump and Gintama is very much one of the lower priority series.
