I worked at a school and it always seemed that once you have established your lesson plan, it'd be a pretty easy and fun job. >_> Now getting that lesson plan down could be tough, I'm sure. But they tended overall not to move people around to different classes often at the school. I'm sure sometimes there is work to do at home but they also seemed to have a decent number of breaks--in elementary, kids going to recess or gym or lunch or band or computer class, and most middle and high school teachers had a couple free periods and a couple study halls. Maybe the school I worked at was an anomaly, though.

I agree, I don't really blame them. But what I've seen of them (basically just one TV interview) doesn't help their cause, IMO. A couple of students, one was at least coherent but his statements weren't really logical or factual, and the other just screamed at the camera man. I mean now is a time you can probably get some support for stricter gun laws, but if you just scream how every NRA member or gun owner is a murderer you are going to turn a lot of people off quick.

"I know you just saw 17 people die senselessly, but don't raise your voice."

Doesn't make for a good TV interview if you can't really even tell what they are saying because of shrill yelling.

I give those students a lot of leeway because theyre hurting right now. That murderer turned their world upside down and theyll probably be traumatized for years to come, if not the rest of their lives. Theyre looking for someone they can shift their pain and anger to, and that means finding someone to blame and making a change. This is all probably therapeutic.

I've been rewatching the MCU films slowly over the last couple months to try to get them all in before Infinity War... a lot of them I haven't seen since theaters or maybe right after they came out on DVD/bluray.

IM2 was actually somewhat better than I remember, although still probably the weakest in the series.

I've always liked IM3, though. No, not the best MCU film by any means, but its perfectly okay.

35, either slightly receded hairline or "mature" hairline like TC said. It worried me at first but it seems to have way slowed down or stopped. Hairs a little thinner, but was always pretty thick so not too bad yet.

No gray on my head other than an occasional loan one that pops up, a few more in my facial hair.

I have friends that have pretty much been bald or close to it since their early-mid 20's, so at this point, I don't care too much I suppose.

Ages ago I applied at a university a couple towns over that I had been to once or twice, so thought I knew exactly how to get there. Left early for the interview and everything just in case, and... turns out I had no idea how to get there, lol. Well, I DID eventually figure it out but was like 15 or 20 minutes late. This was before smart phones and I didn't have a GPS or anything. Anyway, due to that I was just flustered and did a pretty bad job in the actual interview, so even if they would overlook me being late, I did a pretty poor job and stumbled around a lot.

How many of those shooters were white men with histories of violence or at least threatening others? How many were conservative?

Most shooters are men.If you bring race into this, white people are not over represented in mass shootings based on their proportion of the population.

And if you want to play this bullshit game and assume political affiliations, should we do the same for homicides in general? Roughly 50% of homicides are committed by black people. Should that be used to shame or spread fear of black people? Should we speculate on "How many were Democrats?" since black people mostly tend to vote Democrat?

Pretty sure most of the high profile ones were people known to be liberal, not conservative. So again not seeing the point and it hardly matters what a crazy person's political views are, but if you are just going to start using alternative facts...

Two, people live in areas where there is a possibility to be jumped, mugged, raped, etc. Concealed carry isn't just for the often mocked and hypothetical scenario of stopping a mass shooting--it is for self defense. Not everyone is physically capable of taking on someone who intends to harm them, or the attacker has a weapon, or multiple threats.

Exactly. And like in my examples, no one fires a shot, just it being revealed is a pretty good deterrent.

Because tons of people responsibly carry with no incident?

Like how many crimes have been committed by someone who had conceal carry that they wouldn't have just illegally had a gun otherwise?

Conversely, how many people have stopped a robbery, rape, murder, loitering, etc, by having a concealed weapon? I know a couple people that were attempted mugged in a parking lot or whatever but the guy ran off once they saw the gun.

I don't really think it's that deeply loved. Most people are just kind of, "Well, its cheap and convenient since there is one on every corner."

My current and previous job both had a McDonald's right around the corner, and not too much else to choose from, so if I didn't pack my lunch and didn't want to spend most of my lunch break driving to and from a farther away restaurant, that was my cheapest and easiest choice. The food isn't remarkable but $1 large drinks and iced coffee is okay.

Bah this is going to suck.

Being bad was the only reason SMB was an enjoyable movie.

I mean we never would have gotten gems like "plumber alert" and "trust the fungus" if the film stood up against any real criticism.

I wanna know what people expected out of the Mario movie.

It let us see them being plumbers and it throws in several references to the games that were out at that point. Mario has very little in terms of a story.

Anyone that actually expected a live action Mario movie to be good is an idiot.

What were all the disappointed people thinking they would get? Bob Hoskins silently running and jumping for an hour and a half?

I remember when I first heard they were making a Mario movie I just assumed it would be animated, like a higher quality version of the cartoon more or less. Although once I knew it was going to be live action, uhhh... I was still optimistic because I was a kid but I knew it probably wasn't going to go well.

I thought the cartoons were great and they had voice actors that fit those roles well so I don't think their dialog will be weird if they find the right people for the part. I'm just wondering how over the top it would be

That's true, but that was before voices in games became widespread. Ever since the N64 era, Mario and Luigi have just been spouting canned phrases.

On that note, I wonder if they'll get Charles Martinet to reprise his roles? He'd have to keep those voices up for the whole movie. I don't know if Martinet's Mario and Luigi (and others) voices won'y get grating after a while, or if he could keep it up for 90 minutes.

Yeah, I'm an old timer so them speaking in gruff Brooklyn accents will always be the way it should be to me, lol, no offense to Martinet. An entire movie of his voice is kind of scary.
