That's not a guarantee, but higher end places tend to buy locally.

I have a friend who is allergic to red meat. One 4th of July, she was able to eat a whole burger because the patty was made from grass-fed beef that was raised on a small ranch. She remembers that the allergy began appearing in her late childhood after she moved from a small town in Mexico to the US.

Is it really that risky or do they have a different way to prepare it safely?

It's dangerous in the US because of cattle raising techniques and the lax standards our FDA places on the beef industry. The animals are packed in tight, so they end up more sickly, and they're given antibiotics to compensate. Instead of hiring FDA inspectors to test meat on a regular basis like we did before the 80s, the beef and poultry industry has merely shifted the responsibility to the consumer. Recalling raw eggs for salmonella has been replaced by FDA advisory warnings not to eat raw eggs.

If you look at American cookbooks from the 70s and earlier, you'll see recipes where meat and eggs are left uncooked. Modern recipes will advise you to buy free range from a trusted farm.

Actually, that is a bad example because "City Hunter" starring Jackie Chan is far from being a serious movie.
I didn't take it as a comedy. But not stalwart drama either. So maybe my point is off. I never read the manga or watched the anime.

I didn't like that adaptation. Ryo Saeba was a lecherous womanizer, but Chan felt uncomfortable playing that role since he thought it made him look bad. He ended up removing that.

Personally, I think Chan was afraid the Hong Kong tabloids would go ham on how he was playing himself.

Ha. This was a complaint I heard from my Chinese dormmates back in college. They couldn't understand why Americans thought Lucy Lui was attractive. They felt she was average at best compared to the actresses in their movies.

As a black guy, I have a theory. In the past, most casting directors were white, so they just picked what they felt a black person should look like. As a result, they weren't concerned about looks, even when the role sort of demanded it. Now that there are more black casting directors, if a role calls for an attractive black person, they base it off their tastes. It's most noticeable in commercials where the actors and actresses need to be attractive if they are selling to the black community.

With Asians, I just think that Asian nations have a larger pool of actors. In the United States, Asians are a minority and roles for Asians are limited, discouraging a lot of Asians from acting. As a casting director, you work with what you have unless you poach talent from the Asian film industry.

I remember an Isaac Arthur podcast on Androids.

He argued that there is no good reason for making androids except for roles where highly demanding human interactions where being able to form an emotional bond with the android was necessary. The time and expense in making something indistinguishable from humans only to use it for manual labor was ridiculous and inefficient.

He gave some suggestions like child daycare, caregiving for the elderly, and prostitution. The first two we would rather trust a human to do. Especially since shattering the illusion of the android being human would compromise its effectiveness at its job.

Arthur's final conclusion was that the most immediate and common role for androids would be for sex, and that science fiction had actually managed to underestimate this.

People actually believe this?

This is what I saw directly. The uproar died down after the movie succeeded, but marketing stupidly turned Finn into a controversy by accident when they initially did the bait and switch by presenting him as the protagonist. If they had been up front that Rey was always to be the star of the movies, Finn wouldn't have been graduated into a role model for black children because everyone would have known what to expect from Finn.

Some poor schmucks were even holding out hope that Finn would become a Jedi alongside Rey in the second movie. Or that even Finn would become a Han Solo type.

I don't even see why they did it. Did they think a white female protagonist was going to be any more controversial than a black male protagonist? They merely traded receiving groundless criticism based on racism for groundless criticism based on sexism.

They shot themselves in the foot with Finn. He was a throwaway character that was cast as black for the sake of diversity. Then the marketing tried to be clever and made a big deal about him being the new main character and a Jedi. The character gets attacked by certain fans who hate the idea of a black protagonist, and the black media mobilizes to protect the character.

When the truth finally came out that he was a comedic sidekick, there was a huge backlash from the black community, who felt they had been duped by Disney.

Now the filmmakers are stuck trying to make this character relevant to the plot to appease their critics.

I mean using prison labor for private business is nothing new. They've been doing it illegally in rural counties since the late 19th century. There was a Batman TAS episode based on this. The one where Bruce Wayne lost his memory and ended up abducted into a chain gang working for a private mining company that had a deal with the crooked sheriff.

It's just that it's all above board and legal now ever since the Supreme Court ruled in the mid 2000s that imminent domain could be used for private enterprise. The argument was that the business would bring jobs to the small town community, so the storage outlet met the requirement of being for the public good. This has eventually extended itself to corporations and prisons. Pressing license plates and picking up roadside trash were for the public good, so making Starbucks gift cards are also for the public good since it's helping the job creators and the economy.

There's a cut off for global warming at 2050 where the worst possible scenario could take place. That's why you see nations setting goals for going completely green on or before that year. Scientists are warning politicians that it could come much sooner.

So what is the scenario if emissions remain the same after 2050?

Areas of the world would be rendered uninhabitable due to the heat. I'm talking about average temperatures of 112 degrees during their winters. Sometimes it could go as high is 140 degrees. The Middle East and Africa would be hit particularly hard and people would have to either move for colder climates or live and work in special air-conditioned environments. Going outside would require an air-conditioned environmental suit at times. Certainly, very few wild living organisms would survive, creating dead zones of flora and fauna.

Bad writing

This. The in-story reason is a literal Deus Ex Machina because the DC's version of God deemed him too important to be erased from history.

Do SJWs in Japan ever complain about their movies being yellowwashed and demand more white people representation?

Actually, a lot of Japanese fans were shitting on the live-action "Attack on Titan" because all the characters were played by Japanese actors instead of white.
