Will this lead to more elected Republicans in swing states speaking out against Trump?

If the Republicans lose the house in Virginia it may cause them to be more nervous. They have held the house since 2000.

Of course it's not over, Republicans can still take the house in a narrow victory.

For people making less than <30k a year 64% own a smartphone. Also 67% of people living in rural areas own a smartphone.

Feel like this is a really poorly chosen point for a cutoff

There's a huge difference between making 25k a year and 15k a year for example for phone viability. And for ability to make polling stations.

Regardless 36% of the population not being able to vote is still significant.

Here's some stats about smartphone ownership in the US

http://www.pewinternet.org/fact-sheet/mobile/

The vast majority of Americans 95% now own a cellphone of some kind. The share of Americans that own smartphones is now 77%, up from just 35% in Pew Research Centers first survey of smartphone ownership conducted in 2011.

In terms of gender and race there isn't much of a difference. Age shows 92% ownership among 18-29 and only 42% ownership among +65 people.

For people making less than <30k a year 64% own a smartphone. Also 67% of people living in rural areas own a smartphone.

What's the opinion on voting by mail? It'd be a lot easier for voters and most states already use it in some situations, so why not make it an option at least.

My only experience with voting by mail was a referendum and from what I can tell there wasn't much security. Absentee voting is okay because only a small portion of the population votes so it is less likely for someone to steal a large portion of them and vote multiple times.

I dont see how parking at a polling station is an effective strategy. Are polling stations less numerous in the US? In my city everyone is within a 15 minute walk to their polling station. The only places that would suffer would be rural polling stations.

I don't know about other states/cities but here in Louisville I can only vote at one polling place.

So if you feel the parking lot of a place that is mainly inhabited by people more likely to vote against your candidate, if they are lazy they just won't go if they see the full parking lot.

We also only have one polling station where we can vote, but I mean they're so close to each other that having no parking isn't an issue because you can just walk to it.

Here's the results if states proportionally awarded their electoral votes using the D'Hondt method.

Clinton - 268
Trump - 265
Johnson - 2
Stein - 1
McMullin - 1

It at least shows the closeness of the election oppose to it appearing Trump won 57-43.

I assume people are using "cord cutting" to refer to people preferring to watch internet streaming instead of traditional television. Not just cancelling cable/satellite subscriptions

But that's a product of not caring about football, not the cause of not caring about football. People in that position are preferring to stream things because the NFL isn't giving them enough reason to watch live TV.

Those feelings may have always existed. Not everyone who watches football ranks it their number one priority, but that didn't matter back then because your favourite shows didn't always overlap with it. Now with services like Netflix football and other sports are now competing with your favourite shows/movies.
