As an Illinoisan, nope. She's actually a pretty inept campaigner and doesn't inspire any confidence. She's the type of candidate that looks good on paper and then when you actually see her campaign you just don't care about her anymore.

As someone who is a Republican and calls her office since I am in her district I find her office is well oiled and put together and responds to my issues via mail almost everytime I call. I never got the same respect from the RINO who held her seat before her.

I'm not saying that she's a bad legislator or bad at constituent services. But that doesn't equal being a remotely interesting candidate on the campaign trail or in debates. She's the type of politician that is essentially made to be a legislator but a jump up to a major executive position would be really out of her element and almost assuredly not attract very much broad appeal support.

What? I don't think I've ever seen a poor person say that, except sarcastically. It's almost exclusively stated by middle-class and especially wealthier folks to create a woe is me standpoint for the latter and not recognizing that their spending habits outpaced their earning ability for the former.

Money absolutely can buy happiness. It won't buy you all the happiness you necessarily want, but it'll buy you enough that you need if you know how to manage yourself decently well.

What?

They had 62,066 men -> 31,418 dead
I had 29,454 men -> 15,925 dead

not higher

Rate as in percentage, I would assume. You suffered over 50% casualties, they suffered under 50% (at least per the image shown, which had a different casualty rate). It was essentially the basis behind the 1864 Overland Campaign where the Union took more casualties but the South suffered significantly higher as a percentage of their already depleted manpower.

Because Nintendo struck a goldmine with initial interest in motion controls, and by the time Microsoft released it public interest had already been dropped and VR/AR was the new craze that people were looking forward to. So, it missed the target window, didn't really offer anything remotely interesting, and didn't have many games.

Worst major city is hands down Detroit. It has a nice core and then just a complete blight of a city around it before things get okay again in some suburbs. Places like Chicago may have big and bad sections of the city, but Detroit is the one where rather than listing a handful of bad places you can only list a handful of good places.

Cleveland is pretty depressing, too.

Not forced when Drago was the one who killed Daddy Creed. Creed Jr gotta avenge Daddy. Classic parallels/honor story.

No, I get the connection, but it still comes off as dumb and forced. Have him be his own character with Rocky as his trainer, don't lean on the past to carry the plotline or his character motivations. By dragging the Drago lineage into that, they're not letting Creed develop into it's own thing and keeping it stuck in the past.

K181
01/11/18 12:51:57 PM

Well?

One billion U.S. dollars untaxed is your's to do with as you please, provided that you never leave a single square mile area of your choice and that you don't use said funds to somehow fund a way to cheat that either. And as a note, the area in question is exactly one mile by one mile, so you can't somehow choose to live in a place that's 50 miles long and about a hundred feet wide. Attempting to leave this area would be like just walking into an invisible wall for only you, including if you tried to go straight up in a helicopter.

Anywhere you want, be that a nice coastal area or on a mountain or in a major city that you love or what have you, the choice is all your's. You can buy and have built any home you want that fits in that area provided that you can actually afford it with that billion dollars, and all normal services that ordinarily exist in that area is available for you for delivery or other luxuries and services that don't require you to ever leave the one square mile of your choice.

Do you take the deal, and if so where would you live?

I would take it, and probably choose to live somewhere in the Chicago Loop/Mag Mile area with access to a beach as well. Would have to to a bit more looking to see exactly where, but think I could manage it.

Essentially every dermatologist would tell you that you absolutely should wash new clothes (with only other new clothes) due to the chemicals that are used for the treatment and transportation of new clothing, including formaldehyde. Rashes and skin irritation are very common from brand new clothes. Plus, they're likely at least somewhat dirty anyway from the transportation and display of them if bought in a brick and mortar store (plus possibly being tried on by someone else first).
