Actually, here in Canada, it's a pretty normal sport, at least on the prairies. IIRC, it was especially popular among First Nations groups and a lot of reserves/reserve schools had their own teams.

Lacross is like playing water polo of sports, but imagine if the water was frozen and you had sticks and stuff and instead of being in the pool you ran around on the ice instead while trying to put this little ball into this net.

I haven't seen the show, but the comic's premise is that six kids (teenagers except for one younger girl) discover that their parents are a cabal of supervillains called the Pride who use the pretense of an annual get-together to perform the ritual sacrifice of a young woman. They choose to run away from home and ultimately try to bring down their parents.

I doubt. I'm pretty sure he plays lacrosse in the comics, and I don't think the original writer and artist are involved in the MCU.

IDK what Runaways is but Lacross is usually related with high income areas. I think it has one of the highest average costs of participation per year and is one of the few youth sports that is seeing participation grow.

Some of the biggest dickheads in my entire high school were on the lacrosse team, so I back this. The football team had plenty of decent people, but the lax bros were the fucking worst.

Actually Baseball, Football, Soccer etc in the US is on the decline in Youth participation. One of the few sports showing growth is Lacrosse

It not only requires speed and endurance, but a lot of toughness as well. Its not on the level of Rugby contact but it can be a very heavy contact sport.

I was honestly wondering if it was parody when they had the 2 dads roaming the streets looking for a homeless dude to "sacrifice". And then when the homeless dude fights back and kicks their asses lol.

Lacross is physical contact sport with checking and hitting, it's definitely not a soft sport.

Lacrosse is a stereotypically preppy sport. Schools like Duke and Johns Hopkins do well at it.

I think it's really just victor stein's wife that seems completely useless. The others are stated to be skilled in their respective fields like technology, biology, lawyering and gangstering/real estate.

Even then, that doesn't feel like the case. In an effort to make them seem sympathetic, the show just makes them out to be like doofusses. Shouldn't a secret organization have henchmen to collect the sacrifice for them, instead of them wondering around like in that hilariously stupid scene I mention?

And it's other things, like how stupid the robes are. Or how they could have been successful 15 times before when they seem so utterly incompetent with internal strife. And all the changing allegiances and backstabbing increases their incompetence. And how whatever this jonah is just as much an idiot if these are his generals or whatever. And so many other things.
