I haven't been following bitcoin and cryptocurrency very long. However, the value of the big coins now, even in the current dip, is still fairly higher than it was in November, just a few months ago. Yeah, this downturn is hurting people who jumped in during the high period, but it doesn't seem to be bothering the people who got in when it was lower very much.

That said, I try to sympathize with the guy in the video, but he should really know better than to spend his life savings on anything.

Basically some real hard hitters from the game industry are preventing the INVENTOR OF ATARI and home consoles as we know them from getting an award because of 70's hippie culture

I don't know, but talking about taking seats away from whites or coercing whites into giving up their seats is probably just going to inflame resentment and reactionary sentiments even in a lot of moderates. Maybe even in some otherwise progressive people.

I mean, this kind of language does bring to mind events like the Evergreen shitshow last year. A lot of white people who are less progressive aren't going to take kindly to feelings of coercion by minority activists. But maybe that's not the most relevant point here.

Yeah I think there are solid reasons why we moved away from environments like that being acceptable. It may have been that way in the past, but it doesn't make it okay for a workplace.

I say that, but I also do want to see disadvantaged minority groups get a fairer shake. I don't know if that means taking "seats at the table" away from whites or just bringing in a bigger table.

I guess I want to see minority groups assimilated into the predominant group. Does that make sense?

I don't mind a diverse society, but it is weird how radical social activists treat the pursuit of diversity like it's a religion and wield weaponized stigma to bully well-meaning white liberals and progressives into total submission. I specifically have events like Evergreen in mind.

It's kinda interesting how America, the beacon of diversity in the world, is having so many problems because of the diversity isn't it? You can try to blame white people all you want but don't pretend as though if white people didn't exist there wouldn't be a group that would be right there in their place.

Is this your coming out party as a white nationalist?

There is an example of what I mean. You seem to be weaponizing the stigma of white nationalism against him to try to bully him; instead of addressing his statement you're employing slurs to attack him. That doesn't help anything.

Granted, I'm not familiar with Fishy and whether or not he is into white nationalism. Regardless, his post doesn't seem particularly objectionable. The US is a very diverse country and there is a lot of social friction related to that diversity that might not be there if we were a more homogenous nation. And if white people weren't the predominant racial demographic in a hypothetical America where whites didn't exist, we probably would see a similar start of racially influenced classism. Pointing that out isn't an endorsement of the current disparity.

But like I said, I'm not familiar with Fishy, so I don't know if he is supportive of white nationalism, etc.

It's amazing how Republicans have poor people brainwashed to vote against their own interests. And they'll defend it to the death too. Really, a master class in persuasion.

Here's the thing and I'm going to borrow from Jonathan Haidt here, because it has to do with how Conservative and Liberal morality weighs in.

Those Conservatives voting for Republicans aren't doing it for self-interest, they're doing it because they believe in (at least some) Conservative principles. And a lot of them think that saying they should vote strictly for their own self-interest instead of moral principles is insulting.

When I mention the difference between Conservative and Liberal morality in this case, I don't mean that either side is more or less moral. They both register fairly high on the fairness scale, Liberals maybe a little higher, but they look at fairness in a different light.

Regarding wealth distribution, for example, Liberals tend to think the wealthy should pay much higher taxes: "pay their fair share". Conservatives tend to think the tax rate should be close to flat: "don't punish success, don't reward failure ".

That's how it seems to me.

I wish they did a remaster of the Xenosaga series on PS4.

I'm still holding out hope for it. Hope they make it multiplatform though, I could see it on Switch too considering Nintendo owns Monolith now.

Yeah, but Xenosaga isn't owned by Monolith. It's owned by Bandai Namco.

Of course, since they included KOS-MOS in XBC2 and Bandai Namco has allowed Xenosaga characters in games on Nintendo consoles, I wouldn't be surprised if they did allow Xenosaga HD on a Nintendo console.

Basically. There's a reason TC linked to a far-right conspiracy theorist youtube account and not the actual developer update from Blizzard. Here's the actual video:

https://youtu.be/5P1Md792fF8?t=2m38s

So if you're dumb enough to record yourself griefing and upload it to youtube or stream on Twitch, you will be banned. If someone else records you breaking the rules, you will be banned. This fixes an issue OW has had with players getting hundreds of reports before any action is taken. Video evidence is actually far better than just reporting someone and claiming they did something.

But TC is part of a generation of socially inept loners raised in far-right internet bubbles where they've never had to deal with consequences to their actions. He's the type of person who'd call another player the N-word and then complain about being banned for his political opinions.

Can't say anyone would be sad if these people left the game. Blizzard doing something right for once.

You might not realize this, but Tim Pool is neither far right nor a conspiracy theorist. He's an independent journalist who's had his work on Time, Al Jazeera, NBC, Reuters, etc. He used to work for Vice and Fusion TV. Even won an award.

It's been a while since I saw it, but if I recall, I think the only Firebenders above her at the time were Ozai, Iroh, and Jeong Jeong. And they were all very powerful, experienced Firebending masters.

We know she could beat Zuko. At first, pretty easily, but he seemed to be gradually, slowly catching up with her as time went on. If nothing else, he can neutralize her lightning. I think late season 3 Zuko could fight her to a draw, but I don't think he could win.

I think Katara can take her reliably as long as she has an adequate source of water nearby. If it's a full moon and Katara feels like bloodbending, she could probably take anyone on the show other than Aang in the Avatar state.

I think Aang could also take her pretty reliably by the end of season 3.

Toph would be a cool fight, but I see Azula winning it reliably.

There is basically nothing Sokka, Suki, Mai, or Ty Lee can do to stop her. Sucks being a non-bender who isn't Piandao.

If I recall correctly, XBC2 and XBC1 are happening at the same time, in parallel on opposite dimensions. XBC2's world is "our" world after Klaus' experiment created the world of XBC1 and, if I recall, wiped out ours. Elysium is actually the satellite station he and Meyneth were on before his experiment with the Zohar*. Klaus is "The Architect" of XBC2 and he has power because he is in a state of being in two worlds at the same time. Alrest is Klaus' attempt to restore the world he destroyed.

It's not absolutely implied to be our world I think? Though I don't think such a distinction matters when the new world was so different from the old world. Klaus actually merely based his new dimension on the foundations of the old dimension rather than just creating everything from scratch like how it happened in XC1. Even the Aegises are just derived from the systems of the administrative computer in charge of handling the Zohar, and it's also implied the blade system was like a helper system to the previous humans. Klaus merely just took the idea and literally gave them life and a lifecycle.

Nah.

Alrest is totally Earth. What's left of it and Klaus' attempt to restore it anyway.
