Pretty sure it actually plays all the way back during Operation Mi'ihen, too, when Tidus chases Sin into the water. I feel like Jeff Zero wanted to keep the scope of overworld themes fairly narrow, so it should be reserved for stuff that's just overworld music. --- |

Like, the Gramaryes aren't really that important outside of 4-4, even with them having a part to play in 6-2. They've done nothing with Trucy's backstory since then either, which is probably one of the more annoying things 4-4 left hanging because they actually COULD do something with that if they really wanted. --- |

The whole "I was being controlled!" stuff is always weak, but even then, it implies that all that stuff was in her to begin with. Kuja just drew it out of her and took advantage of it. Dagger mourns for her mother because she's her mother. I think there's something to be said about the bond between parents and children in a way that transcends things like right and wrong, but not about Brahne being a good mother figure. --- |

It's probably the only non-bad part of 4-0. Valant's pretty great! I think the game explains how bad all the Gramaryes are as people except for Zak. He gets a free pass for some reason, except in 4-1 where you don't know he's Zak yet. --- |
