I'm not sure why people were so concerned about Deadpool remaining R-rated. The first flick made assloads of money. Disney loves easy money. It's a no-brainer.

I feel the same way. What did they think would happen? Deadpool would be turned into Mickey Mouse? Disney isn't stupid.

Why should I have to pick up the girl? Besides, walking gives people more time to talk, since one of them isn't controlling a 2 ton mass of metal that can move at speeds humans were never meant to travel at.

This. I was able to get a car until I was 20 because my parents were overprotective at first and all girls picked me up

At 20 that might pass but after that, if you don't have a car, I doubt many girls will find that a desirable circumstance.

Most people in gangs have come from bad families/broken homes, and the higher ups in gangs will lure these people into the gang with the family feel.

This is all correct. If you want to know what the draw is then you found the answer. Gangs thrive in communities where young kids don't grow up with healthy family bonds. A gang provides a psuedofamily where they feel protected as if someone cares about them.

There is a study in which lab mice were addicted to cocaine and died because they chose that over food/water. Just something to think about.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/johann-hari/the-real-cause-of-addicti_b_6506936.html

when they are given a large environment with many other rodents to socialize with and activities to do, they intentionally ignore drugs to be social

addiction stems from isolation and escaping low quality lives

Interesting. Sounds like further evidence that supports psychosocial interventions for drug addiction. I'll read the whole thing right now. Obviously lab mice aren't a perfect comparison for humans but we can learn a lot from them.

it's a really great read, and the understood model of addiction is changing. It's not just chemicals or we couldn't have gambling addicts, porn addicts, etc.

This is also why decriminalization/legalization is so vital: when we ostracize and penalize addicts it further separates these people from society and any possibility of having a fulfilling life, and makes addiction issues so much worse.

Oh definitely. The view on drug addiction and treatment is very holistic. There are biological, genetic, and environmental factors at play. Thats why in treatment, all areas of concern need to be addressed. I think Portugal (I could be wrong) is one of the countries that has decriminalized drugs and things have been going fine for them. America has way more focus on incarceration as opposed to treatment.

Youre confusing incarcerated with convicted.

This... just because youre out of jail doesn't mean you are not still a "convicted criminal."

Like someone already said, being a criminal doesn't mean youre a bad person. Not all convicted criminals are guilty and not all crimes are necessarily immoral. Our legal system is far from perfect and legality does not equal morality. Not to mention all the families of the convicted felons that would be affected by them suddenly dropping dead.

If it's yours as in you also pay for it, then you should be able to say something to them about it. It's your money, not theirs. If only your boyfriend pays for it then it's his choice whether or not he let's his family take priority over both of you being able to watch it. Though I agree with Cyborg for the most part. He wasn't saying that your boyfriend is a doormat for taking care of his family. He was saying that he should be able to set simple healthy boundaries like talking to his family about being able to respect the fact that he pays for the Netflix account and should be able to watch when HE wants to. I can also see that he wasn't trying to imply that being a doormat was a womanly trait. That was just RC taking him out of context. I can say something isn't manly without it automatically implying that it must be womanly. Hitting a child isn't very manly. Saying that doesn't mean I'm implying that hitting a child is womanly.

Bottom line. If it bothers you that much, simply take control of your account. You have the right to do so. Or talk to your boyfriend about boundaries. Sounds like he is doing enough to help his family. Asking for Netflix priority shouldn't be this much of an issue.

Also: don't go the passive-aggressive route. Confront the issue. Just my two cents. :)
