starts out great but then goes way downhill starting near the end of disc 2 or start of disc 3, sorta redeems itself with an awesome last dungeon and a decent ending. characters hit or miss. i like the junction system a lot. overall i'd say i like it.

yeah my IV synergy is pretty bad now as well, because all those dungeon update lucky draws don't feature it and there hasn't been a single appealing banner from it. i did at least get Cecil BSB from that one free draw a while back, and the Kain BSB/OSB combo from other lucky draws. could use some TAY dungeon updates still, though.

i don't know that there even are any 4*. you need both of the 5*s for the combo to work. R2 is probably enough for the stacking blink, you wanna prioritize the pure damaging one for hones (i don't remember the names offhand).

I think Shadow USB is supposed to be good, especially if you have his BSB. The best case where you can keep your blinks up and use dark abilities is insanely good, it's basically thunder god mode + a chase that's about as strong as a 5* ability.

nice, just had a perfect multiplayer team with someone else spamming meltdown, me with Squall for ice and Ashe for lightning. everyone else was non-elemental or a healer.

though it sucks that the barrier change happens before a doublecast can trigger. i guess i should have used Squall BSB commands instead of SSS to at least get non-elemental doublecasts.

i wasn't going to pull on this but... well i did anyway. Kain BSB, which is one of the better things i could get since i have his OSB. between that and Ashe, lightning went from one of my weakest elements to one of my strongest.

(also Lenna BSB, which is just worse than the Penelo one i got the other day)

so i've been thinking about the upcoming Earth banner and whether i could use Tifa as my primary earth damager, but it isn't looking good. seems like she can only do the basic en-element OSB combo. her only renewable source of en-earth is from her BSB1 which never returns, so she essentially has 25 seconds to get in as many OSBs as possible with entrusting. that's if i get the LMR and OSB. and the only earth boosting fist is Rude's BSB, also never returning. i could go for those BSBs in this lucky draw with about a 1% chance each of getting them (or the beginner banner lmao).

only other character i like for the earth role is Celes. she would require more relics to be optimal (USB, LMR, earth boosting sword and armor) and she's many months away but would at least be usable with just the USB. and bonus of going for her is she's usable with many elements. also if i get the earth gear but whiff on Celes herself then those dumb FFV characters can at least clear the earth-weak content for me. though i guess the same is true with the fest banner if i get Bartz gear.

i mean, it's 1/3 USBs and half price. the value's definitely there if you don't have any, and probably still if you only have one or two of them (especially if any of the BSBs would be useful). it just sucks when you swing and miss.

If you run the orb daily your EV is supposedly like 25 stamina per major orb, so still a little worse than torments. But torments are WAY more of a pain to farm because of needing to use a drop monitor. I'm mostly planning on farming crystals now but there still are some orb types I want (mainly summon, because getting those to R5 is useful).

even major summons don't really seem worth it to me compared to crystals. i have Bahamut, Tiamat and Titan R3, could hone two of them to R4 right now if i wanted and have never even once felt compelled to use Ogopogo or Ultima Weapon. but i haven't made neo bahamut yet and don't have enough for valigarmanda R4.

if anything the only time i could see myself going for majors is dark/ice day. mostly just for dark. i haven't honed any ninja magic and all 3 of the magicites i have failed to beat are (or will be) weak to ninja magic. and for some reason they all use dark orbs as their primary.

though dark/ice crystals are needed for omega drive/SSS so idk.

man you should easily be able to do golem with that. lifesiphon/wrath up for 2 bars each on Zack Cloud and battery, then drop the hammer with Zack CSB then BSB, Cloud USB x4 (or maybe even 3 would be enough).

for me, i think my best shot is something similar, but would probably need 3 bars each and 3 different attackers. Zack BSBx3, Cloud OSBx3, Cid H BSBx3. along with Eiko and Ramza. though i don't know if i can survive with only one healer.

Fenrir and Bismark down. pretty sure i wouldn't have been able to beat Bismark without Ashe. i actually used a magic team for Fenrir despite my maxed out Squall. got scared by the blink, and i have Edea with her BSB, and Serah with hastega/mag buff and both BSBs. i left Serah to buffing/debuffing while Raines used chain blizzaga and Edea used her commands.

Golem might be possible with what i have now. i have Cloud OSB, and BSBs for Cid, Luneth, Zack, Fujin and Alphinaud. unfortunately i lack a healer BSB with mag buff, like Selphie, Yuna or Mog, and i don't have OK BSB either, so it's kind of awkward to run magic parties. i used Sazh with BSB and Papalymo with SSB against Bismark, which i'm not sure would work against Golem with my far inferior wind dps compared to Ashe.

last night i had a dream about how Cloud beat Laguna. basically twisting the logic from FFRK. there's this thing in that where a character can get an elemental aura, increasing their damage when using that element and increasing their resistance to it. Cloud can do that with wind, but Laguna can't do it for any element (instead he gets stuff that lowers enemy's resistance to certain elements).

so by the logic in my dream, Cloud with his wind aura, and wind resist accessory and armor, added up FF8-style so he absorbed wind and could heal himself by attacking himself. but Laguna couldn't heal himself so lost in the end. Cloud had actually kept it a secret until the last few hours to catch Laguna off guard ater he was exhausted; since it lasts 48 hours and neither actually dies in the end, Cloud won by having the better score, being more healthy.

wait for Orlandu banner instead of Onion Knight. Ramza is there, his BSB2 is almost as good as Onion Knight's physical buff USB and he's your favorite character.

though Onion Knight has 3 different buffs; one really good for physical, one really good for magical, and one hybrid that's still decent but old. so maybe pull there too and stop once you get any of the three.

if you really like Ashe or Vaan you could pull on this banner. Reks BSB is another haste+atk buff you might happen to run into.

Cloud USB is of course ridiculous so you could go for phase 3 of Christmas banners, though you already have Tidus CSB and Cloud BSB2 so that's kinda risky dupe-wise.

imo phase 4 of Christmas is also good, perhaps your best bet of the Christmas banners. Lightning USB, Squall BSB2 and two CSBs.

my lightning game wasn't too great. perhaps enough to beat Bismark, but i hadn't actually tried. Fran imperil, Shantotto BSB, Desch BSB. but Ashe is the only character i really like of that element.

overall i like the Orlandu banner better because it's both him and Ramza, and both Orlandu OSB and USB would be really good. but this banner is better than the next XII event imo because of Vaan, so i didn't want to wait until like, maybe-the-fest-after-next to pull for Ashe.

which of those provide atk buff, mag buff, or haste for the whole party? the only one of those i have is Tyro's USB <_<

i think i remember Yuna's BSB being a mag buff, and i assume something out of Sazh/Red XIII would be some combination of atk/mag/haste as well.

i don't know if i'd recommend a wind or holy team. you've got the two holy imperil clones, Beatrix and Agrias but nothing to really take advantage of them. for wind, i don't even see an imperil or chain in there, and Alphinaud needs hones, so that seems even less plausible.

honestly i think your best bet is doing all the damage with Tidus with Cloud USB RW. he is miles above your other characters. make wrath and entrust, use 2-3 of Sazh/Red XIII/Ramza/Tyro, probably Sarah as healer or maybe add Eiko or Yuna in there, feed Tidus meter and go nuts. try and at least get sapphire shot to rank 3.
