But the event itself had so many different writers that it was a complete cluster fuck of different rules, regulations and consequences in different comic books. In one book, you could choose to retire and nothing would happen. In another, if you didn't register and work for Shield you were automatically deemed a criminal and arrested. A lot of stuff like that. Just going off the main story, they basically assaulted Captain America the second he showed any sort of misgivings towards the registration act. Then Tony Stark got super shitty super fast. He was locking up heroes, allowing villains to work for him in order to take down heroes that didn't agree with him, he even cloned Thor at one point to act as his enforcer (which resulted in someone getting killed) That's not even getting into the implications of how Stark used the Civil War to gain a stranglehold on SHIELD by having Stark industries become the main supplier for their weapons and equipment. --- |
