The point there about Microsoft not letting Valve give away free content was especially interesting because I remember the early days of PC gaming when free content was par for the course. I hear people nowadays saying it's stupid to expect extra care from a game developer and that paid DLC always makes sense, but I think they're just not old enough to remember when the opposite was true.
