Realistic outcome:
Nazi guy who got punched shares the video of himself getting punched with his Nazi friends. His friends share it at their weekend Nazi meeting. This goes all the way up the ladder and they use it as a tool to fire their Nazi clan up with more hate for people standing in their way. Impassioned Nazis engage in violence against people.

So... ???

Okay, I'll point out what I think could be logical issues with both stances in this instance.

PC Argument: I think the premise "human life begins at conception" is unproven which means we cannot logically move to a conclusion. I think that personhood is attempted to be assigned in tandem with viability. Meaning, when a human fetus is able to survive outside of the womb, the fetus can be assigned personhood and inherits a right to life. -- Still a major debate about personhood and if viability is the best choice for assigning it.

PL Argument: Again, the premises "human life begins at conception" might only hold weight if a religious stance is taken. We run into the same issues as the PC argument. With the religious stance, that would be combatted with scientific rebuttal. AND we cannot logically reach the conclusion here because of the questionable premises. Additionally, the "potential for life" argument can be a slippery slope argument.

All in all, Vindris, as you said there is really no meeting point between each side and we all ultimately reach an impasse. It's possible that a good way to start a discussion about abortion is to try to agree on the terms involved. Right-to-life, personhood, human life, etc.

I had addressed the "human life" question in a previous post that you might have missed. Let me ask you these questions again.

Of course there is more to it (scientifically) than this, but here are two simple questions that, when answered, might lead you to understand that human life starts at conception...

1 - What species is a newly conceived human zygote part of?
2 - Is it alive?

Punching someone because you don't like their worldview is illegal, and it exacerbates the real issue. That is why it is important to refrain from "punching Nazis". I would probably want to punch you in real life, but I wouldn't, because it wouldn't solve anything, and in fact would only make things worse. Stop acting like a child. Learn to handle situations like this with maturity.

It is not acceptable to punch people just because their beliefs appall you. This kind of violence should be cut off immediately. Hopefully the people who punched him get charged with battery. Since these voters are mostly white or economically well off they don't feel like they have to interrogate his views too deeply. What a charmed life.

Fiscally conservative voters believe that when you lower restrictions and penalties on business owners in the U.S. (be it small business or big business) it creates more opportunity for everyone. More money flowing through the private sector means more jobs, more opportunity, more reinvesting, more business growth, and less restrictions on businesses here means more jobs are kept in the U.S. instead of going over seas... Pretty simple and sensible concept.

Loved growing up in the 90s (born in 86 so yes I remember the 90s very well). Loved seeing the advent of the internet, and its evolution, most of which has been positive. Love seeing video games evolve, from original Nintendo to modern gaming PCs and consoles. 2017 is a great time to be alive, as long as you understand that the negative media hype is nothing compared to the actual good that goes on in the world. If you think the world is an awful place, remove yourself from exposure to the media for a month and see how you feel.

The n-word isn't the same as ass hole. It is a racial slur. "Ass hole" is not.

But what is also important, is the intent of the word from the user and his or her motive in using that word. Some people, whether you like or not, like to use the n-word as a casual insult among friends they know aren't offended by it. And believe or not, many of those people who use the word are not racist at all.

100% agree.

Still doesn't make him racist. He and his group of close friends probably don't take offense to the word, and so they probably use it in private among each other. They mean nothing racist by it, but simply use it as a casual insult within their circle of friends, who they know aren't personally offended by it.

Then he slips up with that word in public view. That's not where he ever intended to use the word, because he understands it offends a lot of people, and he knows they will not understand (or rather they will refuse to understand because people love being offended these days) that his motive is not to diminish or demean black people.

Using the n-word means you made a racist remark, yes. It doesn't mean you are a racist person.

I can use the N-word to insult some white dude and have absolutely nothing against black people, which is exactly what PewDiePie did. PewDiePie apologized for offending people, but he's not sorry he used the word.. just that he used it in public view, which he knew offended people.
