Nom: Hacker/Tech Person

While playing Persona 5 today I was thinking about how common that archetype of character has become in things. Not sure the best overall term for that archetype though, since not all tech people do the whole hacking thing. I see it hasn't been nommed before either.

Cool idea, definitely plenty of characters I can think of that fit the archetype.

For elaboration, my feelings are not towards the winner. I have no real thoughts, because I'm unfamiliar with him entirely but I feel as if I'd probably like him as a character based on what I know and what other people think. He was my predicted winner, by the way. I didn't want to outright "call it", but yeah. He was who I predicted to win from the start. My feelings root more from the typical atmosphere of this contest, specifically the nature of people "quitting" once their fave dies off and never moving on to another character, despite KotM's top 10s almost always being full of well known and popular characters. It's not something that happens in the major board contests, and I'm always bothered by KotM's unpopularity as I've said before. This one wasn't as big of a blowout as I thought perhaps, but it was the first I can recall not to reach a second page for the finals. It feels about 10 votes short of what it normally is, even just last contest. That annoys me, and I just don't know what to do about it. The answer is there is nothing I can really do, so I just have to live with it.

It's hard each time though.

Yeah... I mean I backed him as my #2 the entire top 10 and as a #3 most of the top 20. Still, this is kinda unfortunate. I haven't kept track of the totals from the previous finals, but my gut is telling me this will be the largest margin of victory coupled with the least total votes. Not really what I needed right now =/

Definitely supports "people getting political", just not late night hosts since they all get political in ways he doesn't like. Other company figureheads though? Oh sure. I find it funny these people damn the late night hosts for expressing their political views on their platforms, yet they themselves tried to express their's on their platform. That's the typical norm for people like this. It's only okay if they do it.

Again, I apologized for that and if you really want to lay that out I was coaxed by someone not to allow wrestlers in because they had no actual kingdoms, so they couldn't be actual kings/royalty. It wasn't some random decision I made on my own to get rid of "joke characters", especially in a contest that contained a lot of characters I didn't like. I am a wrestling fan after all.

The whole thing is just asinine. I'm 99% sure Bravely Default is several times over better than all those games, just because I have a hard time believing a modern RPG would not be better than those 4. But it has nothing to do with that.

I didn't expect Harley to get this far, though I guess scarlet can rest well knowing DC barely beat Marvel. I didn't expect this to be the final four either... but my projected winner is still alive.

It has to be a grudge if it's so "out there", like these accusations are. I have factual evidence to back myself up, you have wild theories. Like actually believing I'd want to discount Final Fantasy II just because it sucks. No one possibly could think that but you.

Not to mention bringing up KotM, which I routinely do things I don't agree with for the sake of the majority.

Yeah, everyone knows I'm a huge fan of Jigglypuff and was glad to have it win one of my contests over legit characters. I could have pulled out the "Jigglypuff began as a species, not a character. So it's not allowed, this contest is for characters only". Just like this current contest I let people have Lucy in, even though she's not a credible doctor in any way or form and just masquerades as one. Despite all she does is really offer advice, which anyone could do. That doesn't make everyone a psychiatrist though. I let her stay because it made the people who play it happy, more than it made a few people annoyed with the decision.

I take a lot of flak more often for allowing stuff than I do for not allowing it, but whatever you need to tell yourself dude. Your opinion on me is just about as low as a few unmentionable deplorables I guess, that's pretty damn sad. I'm a truly horrible person and I should be ashamed of myself.
