| LeonhartFour 09/17/17 11:21:14 PM #337 | Drakeryn posted... also the FFVIII battle system felt pretty different to me, since I was constantly summoning GFs (and thought combat was pretty boring because of it), but I later learned that the FFVIII pros don't do it that way -- junction properly and your attacks are much more efficient than summoning. so I am chalking that one up to me being bad at the game rather than a flaw with the game. Yeah, drawing tons of spells and spamming GFs are for rookies. Playing cards, refining everything, and breaking the system as soon as possible is the way to go. --- |

I found the next big tower thing, so now I have a map of the entire region, so that's good. Found the next shrine, but apparently I'm not supposed to step on the flowers, so this should be...something. I keep attacking goblin settlements, too. I dunno if there's some reward for getting all the chests you get for conquering them or whatever, but hey, I'm doing it. --- |

| LeonhartFour 09/17/17 4:51:12 PM #51 | All right, found the fourth shrine and got the bombs. Infinite supply of bombs seems extremely handy! The old man meets me at the ruins of the Temple of Time and reveals that he's actually the last king of Hyrule, and he explains the story of what happened 100 years ago. Hyrule uncovered a bunch of Gears, Ganon possessed the Gears, Zelda is using all of her power to hold him at bay, Link had to be put in hibernation for 100 years because I assume he was practically dead since the place they put him is called the Shrine of Resurrection. Now we have to save Zelda and stop CALAMITY GANON before it's too late. Next stop is Kakariko Village. But before that, I decided to head back to the old man's cabin. Apparently, if you don't cook the meal for him, the Warm Doublet just shows up in a treasure chest for you to take, so that's handy for me, I suppose! I found the cooking pot and finally used it. I thought it was something you could pick up and take with you, so I guess that was my mistake. Once I held a bunch of items in my hands, it gave me the option to cook, so that's good! I also lucked out and created a couple of recipes. I assume it's possible to mix stuff together and create something inedible, but I might as well mess around with it for a bit and see what happens. --- |
