Well said, and I agree. I also think there's some effect where since people have spent so much time running the game, they naturally want to talk about it. That's true of any hobby. But many of the couch people lack the awareness to recognize that they aren't the one being showcased. And they just can't keep themselves from talking about the parts of the game they like.

Yeah they'll say something like "oh we've got the jetpack skip coming up. I think Robert found that skip right?"

"yeah shout out to robert for finding this skip! great member of our community"

...okay what is the fucking skip?

I have a lot of PC games and even when I get duplicates Humble Bundle Monthly is still the best value around. If you don't have a lot of PC games and you're at least semi-interested in getting more you should sub to this thing every month.

Finally dokkaned my SSJ4 Gogeta and I don't think content will be a problem for a while. Now I just need to dokkan my INT Gogeta and I'll be pretty set. I ended up swapping SSJ3 Vegeta and Bulma for AGL Super Vegito. I also put the sealing TEQ Bardock on the team so that Vegito gets a lot of good counters. Even without benefitting from the leader skill at all he has enough links to basically always super and he hits harder than Bulma.

I bought The Surge and refunded it after 35 minutes. How did people enjoy that combat system? It felt very clunky and the body part targeting system was annoying to actually get to the part you want to target.

Okay so I didn't realize you have to grind FIVE of the free Trunks to get him rainbowed. He looks like a pretty decent unit after his second dokkan (not on global yet) but that's a loooot of effort.

Nope I was thinking of the F2P one but I thought he dropped on Mission 11. Turns out you can't ACCESS mission 11 unless you have him on your team so that's where my confusion came from.

Didn't they add more missions where the INT SSJ Trunks just drops naturally now? Unless I'm mistaken it feels a little silly that you can put all of the effort to get the medals to awaken Trunks into SSJ and then they just make it a regular drop?

I feel like the new movies are pretty strongly hinting at what has long been a fan theory - that lightsaber combat really isn't about fencing skill or any such thing, and that it's a manifestation of one's general power and ability with the force itself. That's why Rey is competent at it the second she picks one up. That to any extent lightsaber combat was a part of "jedi training" it wasn't about how you wield the saber specifically, but how you harness and wield the force against other force users.

I think it's probably a combo of both because there are lightsaber wielders in the (canon) comics that don't seem to have any force sensitivity. Han gets a hold of a lightsaber and says he had to focus all of his thoughts into not doing something stupid and cutting his own hand off.

So enough skill with either the force or actual lightsaber training is enough to cover up a lack of training in the other one I think.

I think that's also why Rey did so well against Kylo in TFA (beside his injury) because she already showed that she had some combat skills with her staff. Kylo's lightsaber skills look like a mess because he's always just flailing around wildly.

And see, I'd be okay with this too, but they don't really follow through on it. Luke acts like Kylo really is that damn powerful. Luke was so afraid of this kid he was seconds away from murdering a defenseless teenager (who is his nephew BTW) in his sleep. Don't tell me that on one hand, and then "Kylo's defining trait is that he's actually not that powerful and isn't capable of much" on the other.

Well you could still be powerful but not on Vader/Luke's level. I mean we don't really a good measure of Kylo's power when we only have Snoke to compare him to. Yes we can compare him to Rey but we don't have any good measure of her power either! Kylo literally froze blaster bolts in mid-air so he's probably a lot stronger than we're giving him credit but he's also being gaslighted by Snoke at every moment.

Is there an easy way to tell when SSJ3 Vegeta's defense boost runs out? I usually don't end up counting turns and I'm always surprised when he finally starts taking real damage out of nowhere.

Would it be a better idea to just use Golden Freiza on my fusions team instead of Vegeta? I know that neither are optimal at all but I need a good blocker and Vegeta is good at that. Golden Freiza would at least be getting boosts from SSJ4 Gogeta while Vegeta gets absolutely nothing. Or maybe I should cut my losses on Vegeta and swap in Bulma?

So I'm taking a week off from work for the holidays and going to be traveling a lot. I was thinking about picking this game up to have something to play but I never played the first one. I played the first Xenosaga game a long time ago but is there a lot of story I'll need to catch up on first?

I know it's closer to Final Fantasy in that the games aren't connected but there are some hints at other games? Could anyone compare this to any other JRPGs to know what I'm getting myself in to? It's been a while since I've played one.
