Had four matches against the same guy tonight in ranked (lol @ either the PC userbase or the matchmaking - given the number online it's probably more the matchmaking.)

He gave me a lot of trouble in the earlier session but by the last match I crushed him completely with just Ginyu. Such a wonderful feeling having a character start to click like that, and it's one I haven't seen anyone at all using online!

Yesss, this is so awesome. I have the game on Switch but I'm very likely to buy it again here.

For anyone who hasn't played, I can definitely recommend this game, it's a best-in-genre for me, especially for playing with friends.

Edit: I do wonder how this is even happening, though. The bizarrely fucked Tetris licensing typically means digitally releasing any games featuring Tetris is impossible, hence the lack of a digital PS4 version. I was under the impression that the Switch squeaked by because it didn't have any other Tetris games yet.

In the footage at the end of the original Cloverfield, you see something fall from the sky in to the water. Given what we saw in this movie, it seems like what fell was the Shepherd, right? Which would place Cloverfield 1 in an alternate dimension from Paradox's point of view.

Definitely feel like a Netflix release on this one was a good move. I liked it more than Cloverfield but nowhere near as much as 10 Cloverfield Lane. Might've been a bit disappointed seeing it in theaters but as something I just saw for free I thought it was a nice watch. Really I just love the idea of this universe and I'm happy to see more of it.

I guess we're getting a proper theatrical Cloverfield as well at the end of the year... and that one's a WW2 movie? >_> I guess if anything this movie establishes that weird shit can happen basically anywhere at any time, so they can really make any kind of story they want in this universe now.

I seriously suck at all the ones that involve a double jump.

Something I've heard really helps for folks who are struggling with this is to consider the jumps/double jumps as any other input in the combo. The correct timing/method of pressing the jump direction on the d-pad is actually very similar to pressing a button.
Using the common numpad-based notation, you can go 2M, M, 9, L, M, 9, L, M, 2H, Dash, L, M, H, Land, Super for something really basic and nearly universal.

While PC players have Crossplay with everyone, if a game includes a X1 or Switch player, PS4 players are excluded, and vice versa.

I'm super confused about what the state of Rocket League crossplay is right now. Back in the day, it was that PC and PS4 could play with each other, but now I'm seeing that basically everyone except PS4 can play together? Did they remove the PC/PS4 play, or is it some bizarre thing where PC can play with everyone but others can only play with certain other consoles? How does that even play out in matchmaking? >_>

Very very basic video but for folks who are having trouble getting started with comboing, this vid breaks down how to go from auto combos to using universal combos that will make you competent with almost the whole cast. This of course just goes up to the basic go-to for most of the cast and doesn't include any character specifics or assist stuff, but it gives you solid stuff to play with and you can build from there.

It's worth pointing out that while this does pretty much 100% confirm Cooler, there's still a good chance that some of that list really was just lobby characters. We'll have to wait and see, but this does lend it a ton more credence, at least.

I'm okay with some of the things on there but ArcSys is going to have to really sell me that Base Goku/Vegeta and 17 (as much as I love him in Super) deserve character slots.

Im surprised how basic some of the combos are in the combo training. Like Im glad tbey kept it simple, but for some of them they dont even include some stuff you could try out. Like the first 5-6 are just basic combos even the tutorial tells you...hell some arent even combos since they just have you input a fireball and nothing else

Yeah a large chunk of the challenges teach you absolutely nothing. Very disappointing considering how robust these modes are in GG/BB. Maybe they just want the community to figure out all the early stuff for them. >_>

I played Kid Buu in the beta and he's a ton of fun. If you're on the receiving end, his rushdown is definitely scary at first, but once you know what his moves are it's just a matter of blocking and punishing like with anybody else. (His stomp attack is legit tricky with its range, though.)

I sunk a ludicrous amount of time in to N when I was in high school. On every computer in the computer lab, you could count on someone having installed Starcraft, Doom and N. I've mostly been playing with my dream team of Gotenks/Buu/Ginyu. Of them, Ginyu seems to be by far the hardest to get stuff going with since the Ginyu Force specials are on a cycle. Pretty hard to keep track of all of that in the chaos, but holy cow Body Swapping for a comeback feels even more glorious than it did in the Budokai days.

That (second/real?) dlc list hurts pretty bad. Not really excited for anyone on that list except maybe fused Zamasu depending on how they handle him. (Starting with the godly form and somehow degrading into the monster form through a super or something could be really cool.)

This even is way more chill than I expected it to be. All the different types of rewards made me think it was going to be painfully grindy, but it feels pretty easy to grab all the chocolates during each bonus time. So after a full rotation it'll just be breezy choco grinding till the event is done - nice change of pace from Saber Wars!

I'm definitely not a fighting god but I'm okay and the time I spent in training mode today definitely tells me this game has depth. It's great because there's the basic universal magic series that everyone of all skill levels can do, but there's a ton more there that gets very, very character specific.
