In my teen years, I wanted to go into either game design or become a graphic novelist. Even though I still have aspirations of the latter, I still have not done anything towards making it a reality other than brainstorming ideas that are constantly changing. Also, I can't draw well enough either. I keep telling myself that I want to practice drawing, but I never do, mainly because I'm afraid of what my attempts at drawing will create. I have a decent career in IT support right now, but I want to move past the banal helpdesk duties that I'm currently tasked with, and to be fair, it may happen if one of my coworkers who has a more active/interpersonal role as a building technician, but I'd really like to move from support roles completely. I did study server technology in school, but I haven't been certified in any of it yet, and I admit that my study habits are bad, so I wouldn't be able to focus on the material that I'd need to take those exams, anyway. I guess you could say that I've fallen into being content with mediocrity, at least for right now; though since I was so long without a job, and I'm making a 1/3 more than I was before, I guess I should be happy with it. --- |
