as a portable the thing is too big and as a home console too weak

It's basically a gaming tablet with controller attachments that has an HDMI connector to play on the TV. I know lots of people bring their tablets with them almost all the time so its size isn't an issue.

Average.
It plays and feels like a Banjo game but doesn't quite reach the greatness of the originals. Mostly, the worlds feel extremely artificial, like a hodgepodge of objects thrown together.

From what I can tell you don't really need to. There's apparently references to the first game towards the end but I'm not sure if it spoils anything in particular.

Also, yes this game has a lot of fanservice but it's actually pretty fun to play regardless.

If you mean the non-Final Mix versions of 1, 2, and Birth by Sleep, then no. "Final Mix" is just the definitive versions of those games, you're missing nothing by not playing the originals.

The only ones that have cutscenes instead of the games are 358/2 Days, RE:Coded, and some mobile game. Judging from reviews...there's a reason why they only made them into cutscenes for the collections.

Well, I finished it. I kinda expected there to be another twist.

The singing was nice. Dan Salvato did a great job designing, writing, and composing the music.

Now what do I do?

You can try for doing all the girls' routes before everything goes fucked, just to see what they're like. You can do that by saving before starting the first poem and just keep going back to it when you're done with a character. (The game actually saves the unique images you get, doing that gets you a better ending.)

I also just saw Game Theory's two-parter on this...Ho-ly FUCK. My mind is blown, and certain lines in the game just got a lot deeper.

Just remember not to judge the game until the 3rd playthrough (first playthrough is "good" but not enough to match the praises the game gets...2nd playthrough is hit or miss depending on what you like)

In terms of gameplay the first playthrough is plenty. The game doesn't improve from there in terms of gameplay. The story does, however.

I'll maybe give it a shot over a Christmas. It'll mainly depend on how long I can keep playing the dating part of the game.

It'll seemingly last forever if you really hate the genre it's playing around with, but yeah, there's a reason it's popular over all other "weeb dating games." I don't really play those either and I recommend DDLC. Hell I didn't even play Katawa Shoujo.

Things do go crazy. I've not seen the crazy stuff but it does. I think you need to hold the crazy stuff in comparison to how the game was before the crazy stuff happened rather than in comparison to other crazy games.

Yeah. Sure there's plenty of innocent-looking games that turn out to have a really dark side, but the sheer contrast and genre shift when it happens should be compared to what was there when you started.

I don't think people are outraged that The Last Jedi didn't complete the story. Rather, that it closed off too many plot threads for the sequel. What's left, really? Rey still needs to stand off against Kylo Ren?

But on the other hand that means whatever they pull with Episode 9 will be a surprise, at least.
