Are people really going to use their bullets ASAP when they get it? That sounds insane. Also are that many people going to commit a crime as soon as they get a gun? That ALSO seems far-fetched in a civilized country (not America; Canada we're talking about).

In a farfetched scenario where literally everyone has a gun magically placed in there hands, damage would be done within a minute.

We're assuming all or most people have evil intentions though.

edit: I just realized the topic title says "earth", not country. So yeah this is a bad idea for sure. A ban on guns would be impossible to carry out within a month, let alone a few days.

I ended up doing exactly what I wanted to do before going to law school (work in law in the casino business) which is pretty rare. From the other kids I graduated with its a mix. Some are already done with law, some are/were struggling for a while, some are doing great. It definitely has its highs and lows and I struggle with substance abuse from time to time. I couldn't imaging having to do law in a field I didn't like. Lawyers generally suck and having to deal with them all the time can be pretty draining.

As for advice to people thinking about it -- Do really well on the LSAT. If you can't get into a good school you probably shouldn't do it. Its not hard to get into law school now because they lowered the requirements and there are so many schools but it is hard to end up in a great situation after school. Study like crazy and do the best you can on the LSAT. The difference between going to a great school and a shitty school is huge as far as career potential and opportunities goes. There are also some higher end schools that do well regionally that are worth going to.

Damn, the stuff about good schools is worrying. The best university here is UBC, a top 40-50 global school, and their law school requirements are pretty tough.

It might be a little different in Canada but still probably would be just best to study up and score as high as you can on the LSAT.

I'm still couple years away before I can think about grad school, but I need to keep this in mind. What resources did you use for studying for the LSATs?
