I could probably go on youtube and find at least 5 videos with over 300k views where poc yell at/make fun of white people for this question, so please don't treat my two sentences in a gamefaqs topic like a mental breakdown.

The difference between viewpoints is that you're just talking about being openly hostile to people who are using a bad warm-up line, and I'm talking about how that hostility is creating literal actual stress for poc and quasi-poc (like myself) which is worse than the manufactured stress you're talking about.

Do I think white people who want the right to continue using this question, and who are offended that they can't are just as ridiculous if not more? Absolutely. But there literally are none of those in this topic (I assume? I haven't checked my ignore list in a while) so you're going to have to work a little harder on your strawman

Like I phrased it in a snarky way before, but I really don't see how my situation of constantly being asked if I'm Polish (my last name is weird and people I interact with often know my last name) as one of the first things randoms talk to me about is all that different than these so called "racially charged" moments. it most def is an issue where people are being hyper-sensitive. Foolmo even said he doesn't mind when people ask the direct question they're thinking of. It's just 2017 and we get upset at people who don't perfectly sculpt their sentences to avoid offending everyone.

Xenoblade X had a great story, and honestly probably one of the most bold attempts at telling a story through a world since Majora's Mask. You get to watch the relationships between humans and aliens build slowly as you develop NLA, and it has a really great "show not tell vibe"

It also had the worlds worst mainline story hastily glued over the top of it about how everyone is dying robots that want to eat a potato man in 20 different ways. Its major flaw, is that there are tons of different weird aliens that learn to fight and defend their home in weird ways but you control a bunch humans with the same size boobs and a tall blue guy. It's almost a perfect allegory to the colonization of the americas, there are amazing deep clashes of culture and human interaction, but we only focus on the white guys and a token alien character (that acts white enough to fit in).

There's a lot of things to consider

Ash's friend in the anime pikachu is a pretty decent character, he's not a "the strongest pokemon to ever live so he wins all of his matches" I think statistically he only wins around 50% of the fights he's in, which makes watching his fights genuinely tense and interesting. He's humorous, sarcastic, absurd, emotional, self-aware honestly probably the only character with actual depth in the anime itself (not that that's saying a whole lot)

As a public icon, he's the mickey mouse of my generation. He's internationally known, easy to recognize, and has achieved a fictional character status that surpasses almost all others.

In the games, he's similar to the anime character, in which he's usable, but not an overpowered character, which makes him and interesting choice in a team. Not to mention he has that z-move where he's basically just thrown at the enemy like a grenade.

His flaws? Well, basically, his only flaws come from what he does TOO well. Overexposure of his likeness. voice, and catchphrase. I guess his defense isn't that great either.

It's a bold move, but I'm giving pikachu a 10/10

he deserves it.

Yeah, but that's kinda the point I'm trying to make. I can't lay too much blame on the people who are actively tricked into thinking they're defending themselves. It's happened to the vast majority of people in history. Instead, I lay blame on the system itself, the leaders of that system. The people who are loyal to the system are still the major problems by volume, but that's why we debate, we try to get them to see they're part of something much uglier before it goes too far.

In Charlottesville the nazis ran over and murdered a woman, and assaulted a black man in a parking deck. The nazis literally want white power and genocide.

Yet we still see "both are bad but antifa is more dangerous" when they are only a danger to nazis and fascists and nazis kill and assault people around them at their gatherings.

If you think "sucks those antifa guys punched a nazi or threw something at a cop" is a real problem but nazis organizing and gathering is a less immediate threat, you might be a fash not a freedom lover.

Again, what do we get from comparing the two sides? I am not here to defend Nazis (though i will defend their first amendment rights)
