you have a choice between the onscreen cursor (which is slow and clunky, but precise) or using the d-pas (which is fast but really glitchy and tends to get stuck on objects rather than selecting what you want)

so in a way... not really? you just have a mediocre and a bad option instead of only a mediocre option. if you already didn't like the mediocre option then they did nothing to fix the issue for you.

Are you talking about the switch version?

I believe they actually patched it so you can change the setting between onscreen cursor or simply using the d-pad to navigate through menus. and the default is now using the d-pad. that being said... the d-pad actually gets stuck on things pretty often, especially in the crafting menu, and I had to change it back to the onscreen cursor so that I could effectively play the game. be careful what you wish for, basically.

oh you can just not play online if you want it to load faster

but then it takes away half of your money LMAO

The extent this game goes to to be shitty despite it being the greatest game ever is almost incredible. I just rage quit after about 300 hours last night, and I'm done with it for good now probably. It's worth the outrageous ways the game makes you wait around and do nothing, but god DAMN is it awful. It's a shame because if they just tweaked a few things (helicopter pickup being faster, no awful load times for menu, not having a separate wallet when signed online, having side ops only be completable in tiny doses at a time, the randomness of animal collecting, the fact big boss can't climb inclines, the labyrinth of stone that is afganistan etc.) this would probably make it to my favorite game of all time. As it stand though, it's not even in the top 3 of metal gear.

Am attempt was made to be human, and you can gauge whether someone is uncomfortable or not. Seems like the least effort that could be made.

Ok that's fair, I'll give you that. Though I would argue you can do more with non-verbal communication at that stage than verbal.

Also, yeah I want to make it clear (sadly I have to) I got nothing against brie larson. If she felt uncomfortable, I have genuine sympathy for her, no one likes an interaction that makes you feel weird in a public place. The fact that she took this so heavy strikes me as really odd, but that doesn't mean she's a bitch (Why would it? [this is a rhetorical question please don't attempt to genuinely respond])

Well, you're only led to the conclusion that you have to ask her out despite not being in a situation in which it's appropriate because you ruled out the possibility that there is no acceptable opportunity to ask the girl out and that you should just suck it up and try later with another girl under more appropriate circumstances.

"If you spend all day shuffling words around you can make anything sound bad"

You're using "appropriate" as if it's a constant. It's not. We don't have a universally accepted rulebook of interactions.

I mean my ex-wife asked for my number when she was a waitress in a restaurant I went to and we were together for 7 years so I feel like it's not impossible.

The truth is, asking for a number in a weird scenario is kind of like steroids for the longevity of a relationship. People like having a cute story of how they met, and it helps keep the relationship strong.

"haha he was this creeper TSA guy and he asked for my number" is a much better story a woman wants to tell than "oh we met as friends of friends"
