It's amazing how Genex is large enough to have two sub-archetypes (Genex Ally and R-Genex) and yet nearly the entire archetype, like 99% of it, is s**t before the Terminal World support. Literally the only Genex that saw play, is Undine.

The old Duel Terminal stuff actually have some sort of strategy (attribute control and gain advantage based on that), but the "advantage" is not enough to make them worthwhile, even back during 5Ds era when they debuted.

Makes it kinda funny that now OCG Structure manga is promoting Genex by having the MC use Genex deck, including mentioning some of the archetype's old and s**t DT era cards.
And then.......the MC's turn 1 endboard consist of only newer cards, with the oldest one being F.A. Dawn Dragster which is not even part of Genex archetype lol

Dunno, seems a bit much at times.

That sadly has always been Niji's thing, which many are annoyed with. Niji constantly pump out new vtubers, seemingly without caring that the existing ones haven't got a big name or a solid fanbase yet.

A complete contrast with Holo which lets new generation fully grows first before introducing new ones again.

Do I need to go through the slog of previous DL content to get to Rush Duel part?

An interview confirmed you can jump straight into Sevens world and do Rush Duel, without having to do any Speed Duel stuff first.

But do it after Sevens world arrived, not before. Currently DL still have only Speed Duel stuff, so you'd have to do Speed Duel stuff if you start playing now. If you only want to do Rush Duel stuff, start playing after Sevens world arrive.

Again, I really really hope we gets to see the entire monster lineup of Tearlaments getting banned, simply because I think all the reactions that came out of it will be hilarious XD

Anyway, Rush Duel coming to Duel Links in two days, for anyone interested in playing it in English but don't want the not updated Switch game.

The thing about La+.....yeah it kinda confused me too. Hololive is far more well known as Youtube streamers, so it's interesting that management let her focus more on Twitch instead.

Furthermore, unlike say, Lamy or Watame who isn't really tied to a particular group, La+ is tied to HoloX, with her lore being the founder of the group, and all HoloX members besides her still focus on Youtube. It just feels off to see her separating herself like that. On the other hand though, it seems she's still going to stream in Youtube as well, she just focus more on Twitch.

Council is clearly considered as EN Gen 2, though

Though I'm unsure about whether your reply is aimed at the "Regloss is not Gen 7 JP" bit, or the "they're not yet officially called as Gen 1" bit.

By the way, A-chan just recently also has a stream showing that DEV_IS is considered a completely new and separate branch altogether than JP. So yeah, Regloss isn't Gen 7 JP, their branch is not even JP to begin with.

They're not Gen 7 JP though, they're basically Gen 1 DEV_IS (though I think they're not officially called as "gen 1")

Either way, DEV_IS is clearly treated as a separate branch from JP, considering DEV_IS has its own Youtube channel. If Regloss is part of JP, they would've just be a part of the existing Holo JP Youtube channel, but Regloss is on DEV_IS' separate Youtube channel instead.

(Also, I think none of the official announcement mentions them specifically as Gen 7 of JP either)

Yu-Gi-Oh is very unique compared to other card games in the fact that it doesn't have any sort of resource system built into the game, so that you can essentially do anything you want right from turn 1 with very few limitatons. To some people, that was part of the appeal of the game. But after 20+ years of cards and powercreep, the pace of the game has gotten way too fast, and at this point there's no way in hell that they could overhaul the game and shoehorn a resource system into it. That would take a massive undertaking and would probably kill the game.

Hence, Rush Duel. It's basically Konami's attempt to restart Yugioh all the way from the bottom again, without messing up the established OCG/TCG.

But seriously, looking at the recent OCG/TCG card releases in the last few years, I think they are still torn between slowly killing OCG/TCG (by skyrocketing the powercreep even more, releasing a ton of broken cards hoping people would quit) so that they can focus on Rush Duel, or keeping OCG/TCG alive alongside Rush Duel.

Oh I'm sure they do talk to each other, it's just I doubt she knows that much about the management side of holostars, so I doubt she knows much about their decision to graduate Magni and Vesper

Saw that picture somewhere else, and someone joked that Ollie's safe from her twice because she's a zombie, she's already dead to begin with, so Calli can't reap her XD

That picture also reminds me that, in my opinion at least, they really should have Irys officially assuming the now empty Space slot in Council (thus officially making her a member of Council as well). It's weird to have a representation for Time but not Space, with us being fully aware that there was one before. If we're looking for someone to assume the now empty slot, then the best choice would be someone who is basically a close friend that is already in Hololive EN to begin with but has no group to associate with, which means Irys.

Also, I'm guessing the lack of graduation stream is their own decision, for some reason they can't disclose, they decided to not do it. They left on good terms and on their own decision, so I'm sure management did offer them to do a graduation stream.

Yeah, I remember some talents specifically put that up as one of their rules on-screen for their before/after streaming screen

Especially considering Kiara's a Hololive member, not Holostars. Of the freakin course she knows nothing about it. There's no point asking her about it.

lol I just said this yesterday and now (as in, right now, at the time I posted this) Subaru just finished streaming about Yugioh, even showing the physical cards on-screen

They FREAKIN' FINALLY banned Rhongo (and Block Dragon).

Heck, even the Rhongo ban alone is a huge win. Thumbs up for Konami for finally doing it, although, it should have been done much sooner.
