A good rule of thumb for the Steppe is, if it's bigger than you, it's probably a challenge at best and suicidal at worst (until you can start handling the challenges.)

I loved Oerba quite a bit when you actually get there, but I don't remember whether it is a straight line or not.

- I might've been damaged as a child because I liked (???) Deadly Towers once I found the hidden spots to not get abducted to the backrooms.

- In keeping with Stockholm Syndrome, Battletoads. Huh. I basically always made it to level 8 before game-over-no-continues. That game peaked during Surf City anyways.

- FUCK RC PRO-AM AND ITS RANDOM "I WIN NOW" CPU.

- Also, do not meta replacements! IGCD was the one asking for replacement, NOT Brohan. Do not meta in general! This game had a lot of weak information gathering to its name, and Sbell/Sultan both flat out would tamper with that information if they were copped properly (hence Ben's role as Tapp.)

- While I feel the Night 1 extension was necessary to be fair to an already small scum team, the hijack-an-even-day power, while I was excited for it to exist, PROBABLY should not have co-existed with it. JC and FD were bickering about it but I think it was smart of FD to grab The Box, considering he was poisoned (and yet with my flowery flavor of "you were diseased" he couldn't be 100% sure that was a guaranteed death.) The only passive not disabled by said Box was Sultan's auto-hammer-during-tie, which never came into play due to how quickly JC pulled the trigger. Additionally, the box would have disabled everything Mafia could do overnight if nobody touched it.

- Yes, the scum team was small - in one part due to an Indy, in one part that I still need to work on my scum-to-town balance, and in one part because of the potential of how swingy the game could be - even erring on the side of caution compared to Dota 2 Mafia 2. If FD had successfully gambled on a death, he would've received a vigilante shot - to say nothing of if Death had wound up mimicking him survivor-style (he would receive the day action to wager the next day, without being told exactly what it meant.) This is on top of the Ctes and I discussed this in the pregame. Mathematically, it was unlikely that we were going to hit the 7-day time limit, but given how much air has been sucked out of the room by the combination day 1 BS and long-night-1-to-short-day-2, I found it prudent to call it.

Hey, all. I did enjoy running (and especially writing) this, but there's a few things I want to address right now. First and foremost, congratulations to the KILL YOUR FRIENDS/SURVIVE WITH FRIENDS TEAM of Ashe, Corrik, Death, and Red. Also, "...Congratulations?" to FD, who has "won" by means of escaping the Entity's realm via an eternity being tormented in Hell.

- I'd like to give special thanks to Han, who didn't appear in this game, but was the inspiration behind it - Star wars + Pokemon was amazing from a flavor standpoint. This was the driving idea - Dead by Daylight is fairly popular BECAUSE it allows you to play the horror movie slasher (even if they are severely nerfed) but also because the perk and item variety leads to some goofy shit - like Hillbilly dashing across a map with a silent chainsaw (one of the only things capable of downing survivors in one hit) or having a Survivor sprint around a corner, slam a locker door as they run past it, dive into another locker quietly, heal themselves, and then exit to stun a Killer at high speeds. (One of my favorite builds, even with its low effectiveness, by the way.)

- I'd also like to thank ctes for helping me on the leadup. It was pretty hectic for the week beforehand, not gonna lie.

- I'd like to give a special dishonorable unthanks to Brohan after the Day 1 stunt he pulled (and I'd personally like to apologize to @Lea ea and @Crescent-Moon - given he was likely a catalyst, if not the sole reason, for replacement.) Instead, he had to serial-AFK during a time when town REALLY needed a town member to stay alive - and DTC knows that I have also been hemming and hawing over ending it for a few days now, but as of my prewriting this (11-15-23 at 4:45 p.m.) he hadn't logged in for two days - and he certainly hasn't posted or used his abilities at all. This loss is solely on you, Brohan. If you lost your job? Sorry, that sucks, but even I had the decency to not screw over a bunch of people in a game I was in when my mother died this year, nor torpedo two great players completely. I can't believe I had the patience to not modkill you until today (and was going to, if you weren't the vote-out.) The only decent thing you did was Luigi your way into jamming scum's radar via Sbell's Multifaceted on night one.

FORCEFUL_DRAGON WAS ELIMINATED BUT... Won?
He was...
ACE VISCONTI, SOLO QUEUE Smirking Gambler
A charming, aging Italian-Argentinian with a constant lopsided grin, you live (and occasionally get your ass handed to you) by the thrill of a gamble. Dressed in fine silk and sunglasses (and a trucker cap, for some reason,) you consider the Fog to be a bit of a game of chance all its own (despite the whole "occasionally have a meat hook rammed through your chest if you screw it up" thing.)

Smirking: Even at your lowest lows, you put on a brave face. This manifests as some horrible rictus of a grin, even if pierced by the aforementioned meat-hook-through-the-chest, but there you go.
Gambler: Whilst a bit slimy, you like to hedge your bets for your survival against your peers. Once per day, but at least 24 hours before the standard end of day, you may DM a Host with "##bet: <target>". If your target is eliminated by the end of the night in any way, you will immediately receive a boon. If your target is not eliminated, nothing happens - there's always another day to try, so long as you survive! Win or lose, you may continue to gamble on other targets.

And also, he was...
ALBERT WESKER, SOLO QUEUE Agile Mastermind
A former Umbrella scientist working undercover as a police captain of S.T.A.R.S., you were struck down by a Tyrant during the Spencer Estate incident and left for dead by a few of your team members you betrayed. Through a complicated mess of retcons, you returned a virus-riddled superhuman with an almost unhealthy obsession with one of your former members of your team, and your ultimate goal is complete. Global. Saturation.

The Entity didn't approve of showboating for seven minutes, and you're now stuck in the Fog, but at least it granted you with no shortage of Survivors to experiment with your funky Uroboros arm. Widespread bioterrorism will have to wait for another day.

Agile: Despite your complete lack of subtlety, what with a giant terror radius and everything, you can usually cover remarkable ground by lunging forward twice, vaulting over any pallet or window in your path. Except when game mechanics decide you can't. Which is all the time. Unfortunately, this trait does nothing for you in the context of this Trial.
Mastermind: You're always two steps ahead of the game. You planned out your own transformation, and just so, you manipulated your alter-ego to survive for your own benefit. Any items that you receive as Ace, you may use as Wesker.

CORRIK7 HAS WON! He was...
HERMAN CARTER, KILL YOUR FRIENDS Tormenting Doctor
Before you even entered university your teachers noted your brilliance in academics. From a young age, you were always fascinated by the human brain, and had a deeper urge to study it. You were fast-tracked into Yale's advanced neuroscience program, a front for a branch of the CIA's intelligence gathering. You were transferred to a black-site facility, where, as seems to happen in DBD's lore way too much, a Mr. Stamper took interest in you, encouraging you while teaching you information was everything and knowledge was power.

Mr. Stamper encouraged you further during your experimentation, assuring you that no eyes were watching you, and there were no rules or laws to fear. You were given carte blanche for information extraction, and your docile test subjects were replaced with actual spies. Your methods developed and your overseers turned a blind eye; the lights would constantly flicker in the testing facility as you administered your "treatments," searching for the ever-elusive ability to control minds via electro-shock therapy.

Lry's Memorial Institute went silent for a week a few years later, and an investigation was finally launched, which shed light on the reality of your situation: your methods of information extraction had at some point turned into a bizarre torture, with patients and prisoners found dead or vegetative with all sorts of head trauma. You had left your notes behind (as well as Mr. Stamper's living body) but the Fog had taken you as one of its own by that point.

Tormenting: You have had years of practice with human experimentation to hone your craft. With a giggle and a low amperage zap, you may target a player as a night action, which shocks them, stopping them from using activated abilities of their own.
Doctor: You technically never finished your medical degree, but to your colleagues, you gained the title through your expertise. Warning: treatment may vary.

He was also...
CLAUDETTE MOREL, SURVIVE WITH FRIENDS Rude Neurodivergent
You are Claudette Morel, a young graduate student with a passion for botany matched only with your extreme introversion. You were shy to the point of shunning people in real life, so you took to online forums and chat rooms, gaining the moniker "science girl" when you geeked out over your botany knowledge.

Online smarts is not the same thing as street smarts, though - like a typical horror movie victim, you deciding to take a walk in a dark forest. The Fog brought you to the Entity's Realm, and your online friends never heard from you again.

Rude: Despite being available by default, you are commonly played by the sweatiest Survivors due to your reputation as blending in with the majority of the game's environments. You will go out of your way to tilt your opposite off the side of the planet. As a night action, you may teabag relentlessly at your target then run in the direction of another player. This goads them into chasing you, directly at the other player; the initial target will use its night action, if any, on the second target.
Neurodivergent: You're confirmed to be autistic by in-game datalogs. You do not perform well in social situations without a computer screen filtering you, which are not exactly in high supply within the Entity's realms.

DEATH HAS WON! He was...
SADAKO YAMAMURA, KILL YOUR FRIENDS Cursed
In life, you were a natural psychic - though that did not help you predict your own demise, as you were unceremoniously pitched into a well, the only light showing being a ring shape from the ill-fitting stone covering its top. You attempted to escape a few times, rubbing your fingernails off trying to scrabble up the walls, but eventually succumbed to exposure, starvation, or both.

Your spirit did not know any peace after that, and remained in the well as the archetypal stringy-haired onryo. The psychic power expanded as your hatred of the living grew, and you cursed a videotape found in the cabin built over the well. This videotape cursed those who viewed it to perish in seven days, unless they spread the message of the videotape and showed it to another.

Thousands perished in the wake of this curse, until eventually a tidal wave shrouded in black mist struck the cabin above the well where your spirit resided, and you found yourself in the Fog. Still dead, mind you, but you have a new realm to play in and spread your hatred, especially since your Host showed every player the tape to save himself. Whoops.

Cursed: Every player in this game is shown the cursed tape at the start of the game. Killers have some resilience to it, but if the end of the seventh day occurs and you are not yet eliminated, every Solo Queue player will be eliminated, with no Survivors. That's what they get for dithering around.

He was also...
NICOLAS CAGE, SURVIVE WITH FRIENDS Hammy Actor
Yes, THAT Nicolas Cage. The fact that you are in the Fog itself is nothing short of ridiculous, and your appearance here brought some goofy levity to an otherwise bleak situation. Each of your perks is very potent despite the capacity to backfire spectacularly, but if worst comes to worst, you can always fall back on your background as a multi-billion-dollar award-winning superstar to help you evade the serial killers now hounding your every move. See if you ever perform another film for Pauline Stamper again...

Hammy: Thank whatever God residing in the Fog that there aren't (yet) any bees for you to scream about. You are a natural at chewing the scenery, even while running for your life: raising your knees like a cartoon character while fleeing from a maniac with a machete, wondering where the music is coming from when you wind up in Haddonfield, silently flopping on the ground in a corner to hide while wounded and coming back fine, it's absurd.
Actor: There's no denying you're great at method acting. As a night action, you may study any living target, specifying Survivor or Killer, and you will mimic that target appropriately and perform their night action on a separate target, if applicable. You lack a makeup kit and a costume designer, however, and will appear as yourself on both of your targets barring any extremely good acting (or luck.) Attempting to perform a one-use-per-game action results in both visitations but no effective result.

Ashethan has won! He was...
MICHAEL MYERS, KILL YOUR FRIENDS Quiet Predator
You are one of the first licensed Killers to enter the Fog. You killed your older sister when you were a six-year-old child in 1963 and were imprisoned to Smith's Grove Sanitarium for 15 years. On the night before Halloween, you stole your psychiatrist's car, drove to your hometown and stole work gloves, overalls, a kitchen knife, and a blank latex mask from a hardware store.

Being you barely mentally grew up from a murderous child with a complete lack of empathy - even described by your psychiatrist as pure evil - you set your sights on a young girl by the name of Laurie Strode, and followed her to Haddonfield, quietly, methodically stalking and stabbing her friends. When you showed yourself to Laurie, she fought back, stabbing you in the eye and neck. Your psychiatrist showed up during the struggle (somehow) and shot you six times, and you fell off the balcony. When they went to check for your body, you had escaped into the night - and the Fog that rolled in shortly afterwards.

History aside, it's interesting to note that for some reason the playerbase is absolutely thirsty for getting pierced by Myers. Your Host truly doesn't understand it.

Quiet: While normally you are followed around by an iconic piano tune and you are a hulking brick shithouse of a man, any actions that you take will be silent.
Predator: Ostensibly to freak out your targets, you just loom there. Menacingly. As a night action you may target a player and guess at their identity. If you are incorrect, you will determine one of their traits. If you target a player and properly guess their flavor, you will gain access to additional information from this. DUN-dundunDUNdundunDUN!
and also, Ashethan was...
MIKAELA REID, SURVIVE WITH FRIENDS Mystic Inquisitive.
You are what happens when the stereotypical "teen witch" grows up and works waiting tables at a coffee shop while performing poetry on the side (impressive, given the dyslexia.) Adorned in a stereotypical flat witch's hat and huge round specs that wouldn't look out of place on Professor Trelawney, you were taken into the Fog at some point, and every time you wait by the bonfire before a trial, you bring out a book of spells to the bonfire to peruse from... somewhere.

You were also responsible for one of the most annoying periods of time in the game after your appearance in the Fog due to one single perk you brought with you - Boon: Circle of Healing. For a tiny investment of setup time, your perk turned a huge swath of the map into a no-fun zone for Killer players, since the self-heal it allowed was so quick that Survivors would typically stand in plain sight bandaging themselves, as they'd be fully healthy when the Killer came swinging at them.

Circle of Healing has since been nerfed to not allow self-heal, though is still potent. Regardless, you won't be using it - you've got two other tools at your disposal.

Mystic: I suppose all that costume wasn't just for show. While you no longer utilize Circle of Healing, you can still bless a totem nearby with Boon: Shadow Step. This simple spell allows your night actions to be undetectable if you were to perform any.
Inquisitive: You gain some insight on your peers in the Fog through the Clairvoyance granted to you by the Entity. Once per day only, targeting a player with a day or night action and specifying "Survivor" or "Killer" will return their appropriate identity, if applicable.

Sbell has been endgamed! He was...
FENG MIN, SOLO QUEUE Loud Multifaceted
You are a young adult pro gamer whose competitive nature led you to the Fog after many sleepless nights and drunken benders from the fallout of a bad tournament showing. Since you've entered the realms of the Entity, you worry that you've disappointed both your parents and your fans for not putting on a show for... whoever, and have somewhat developed a "lone wolf" persona as you attempt to speedrun your escapes (or deaths.)

Personality aside, somehow the Fog keeps blessing you with new, flashy clothing every few weeks. It's almost as though your fans are cheering you on from outside of the realms of the Entity, and given how much you love to taunt your opposition, this suits you just fine.

Loud: Your choice of clothing, your noises while injured, and your general personality are the opposite of subtle. If you are forced to move for any reason, any target you visit will be notified of your visit, but not what you did, at the start of the next day. You may not move of your own volition by default.
Multifaceted: The Entity seems to have confused "professional gamer" with "professional cosplayer." If you are ever the target of a Cop-style action, the user of the action will receive a false result that matches that of any other living player in the game, regardless of their alignment, flavor, or traits.
And also, Sbell was...
THE LEGION, SOLO QUEUE Multifaceted
You are a collection of four older teenage delinquents from Ormond, Alberta. Your ringleader, Frank, stabbed a cleaner witnessing one of your vandalism attempts and forced the other three of you, Julie, Joey, and Susie, to stab him as well as an almost ritualistic deepening of the "Legion" gang. While you were disposing of the body, the Fog took you, and you were "blessed" by the Entity to share one body, whose power is brandishing a knife and vaulting pallets instead of kicking them. Scintillating. Nevertheless, you are a great Killer for rookie players, since each of your perks benefits a number of builds, and you are able to rapidly injure Survivors.

Unfortunately, you have forgotten to equip any perks or add-ons, so you have no active power other than your names and your vote. Survivor meta is very quick to adapt to being permanently injured nowadays. There is, however, power in names - make of that what you will.

Multifaceted: The Entity has merged you into one shared body, with your form shifting based on whose personality is closest to the surface at the time. Once per day, before the end of the day, you may DM the host to choose between Frank, Susie, Julie, or Joey. Your selection defaults to Frank if you have not taken this action, and takes effect at the end of day. Any Cop-style actions targeting you while you are the Legion will receive appropriate information based upon your current form.

BCT has been endgamed! He was...
FELIX RICHTER, SOLO QUEUE Quiet Eye Candy
You're a German architect subtly somewhere on the autism spectrum, blah blah blah. Found yourself in the Fog because of blah blah blah. Look, no one cares about your lore or backstory or introverted personality, since Elodie's lore rewrote it better. No, what they care about is that the Entity gave you a set of open-chest pajamas at odds with an option for neatly-trimmed stubble. As unpractical as they are in a murderous game of cat and mouse, *MMMF.* No white-collar dad-bod should look that tasty.

Quiet: You fly under the radar while accomplishing your tasks - if you were to move at night, no one will notice your passing in the Fog.
Eye Candy: There's a reason your cosmetics sell almost as well as those for all the female survivors. While you usually wear tasteful business suits, even at your messiest (especially at your messiest) you look *good.*
And also, BCT was...
CALEB QUINN, SOLO QUEUE Inventor Marksman
You are the son of an Irish immigrant in the days of the Old West. Your father taught you some of the tricks of the trade when it came to tinkering, and you spent most of your adult life in America's first private prison, Hellshire Penitentiary, after attacking and maiming your boss, railroad tycoon Henry Bayshore - the bastard had the gall to "borrow" your patents and sell them as his own!

While in prison, you befriended a warden and performed bounty hunting in exchange for your own temporary freedom, earning the moniker "Deathslinger" through one of your "apprehension" devices through your work as a bounty hunter - a retractable speargun whose early prototypes had the unfortunate side effect of disemboweling its targets.

For the next six years the warden released other Irish inmates from the Penitentiary to help you with your Bounty Hunting duties, and you became known as the "Hellshire Gang." In the aftermath of a violent shootout, you noticed a newspaper whose headline read "Bayshore buys Hellshire Penitentiary." Your old boss had robbed you yet again, and your warden betrayed you. You and the Gang stormed the prison, where you located the warden and Bayshore. You left your gang with the two helpless men, and in a fit of pique, visited your old cell. The Fog took you then, recruiting you as a Killer.

Inventor: You wield what some would call a gun, though it's more of a retractable harpoon launcher. Named "The Redeemer," it was the only invention of yours you had when you entered the Fog, and you refuse to surrender it.
Marksman: You put The Redeemer to good use with uncanny good aim and a set of your broken jaw. Firing this weapon as a night action roleblocks its target, as they will be forced to not only escape the bond but also mend the resultant wound.

UltimateBrohan has been hooked and eliminated! He was...
JI-WOON HAK, SOLO QUEUE Harmless Eye Candy

You are the Trickster - a toned South Korean pop star with glowing yellow contacts and an open jacket to match their color. You are one of the least deformed Killers to enter the Fog, chosen by the Entity to become so when you attempted to impress your Producer, proving you still had an ear for music - even if you made it by sampling the screams of your victims and former band members. K-pop, am I right?

You were armed with a bunch of trick throwing knives that - for some reason - sound like small bits of breaking glass upon impact with your targets. When those fail, you have a bladed aluminum baseball bat that makes electronic noises when you swing it. You run slower than most Killers due to your usual range advantage, and so have a difficult time catching up with Survivors. Unfortunately, you appear to have run out of knives.

Harmless: WHERE ARE THE KNIVES? WHERE ARE ALL THE LOCKERS TO RESTOCK? WHY IS RUNNING DIFFICULT?
Eye Candy: You are all show, no go; despite your knife tricks, pop artist background, and "thirst trap" physique, you are not in the greatest of physical shape for a Killer, and survivors can hear and see you coming from a mile away, even with your usual ranged weapon advantage. Which you don't have. For all intents and purposes, you are functionally a (good-looking, yet blood-spattered) Vanilla and possess no other special abilities.

He was also...
YUN-JIN LEE, SOLO QUEUE Self-Centered
You are a fashionable music producer, stage name "Magnum Opus," and are well-accustomed to the standard cutthroat business world of K-Pop. You were not, however, expecting to sign up for the whole "talent I found becoming a serial killer who gets off on mixing the sound of screaming into his solo work after his bandmates were killed in a fire" thing. That's just hearsay, of course, and you're in denial while harboring a (true) suspicion about it - If the record label ever found out you were covering for Ji-Woon adding murder to his music, your career would be over.

You wound up in the Fog when most of your colleagues from your record label, Mightee One, were killed at Ji-Woon's hands after they tried to cut him free from a string of less successful recorded albums. Ji-Woon thought he was doing you a favor in slaying them in front of you. You wanted to see him suffer for what he did. If the Fog didn't close in on both of you at that point, you likely COULD have killed him and been twisted into one of the Entity's Killers. Instead; as it stands, you and Ji-Woon have one of the closest Survivor-Killer relationships out of most anyone else trapped within - but you're still looking out for number one - yourself.

Self-Centered: Despite your interesting fashion sense, your sense of self-preservation has been one of the guiding principles of your life, and you survive your trials through misdirection and sacrifice of your allies. Once per night, you may choose to take an action to hide behind another living player, and targeted actions directed at you that night will instead affect your target. You will not be notified if any action is redirected in this way, and you are not obligated to use this ability. Beware, hiding behind a Killer will give away your identity to them; if you hide behind a Killer a second time, you will die.

---
The night passes fitfully, and with an eerie silence everyone becomes their odd-day form again. No discussion occurred, and as the end of the seventh day drew forth, the three remaining Survivors contorted on the ground, quite dead.

IGCD has been endgamed! He was...
DWIGHT FAIRFIELD, SOLO QUEUE Cowardly
One of the earliest mainstays in the Entity's Realm, you are Dwight Fairfield - a constantly-on-edge ridiculously average guy. Seriously, by default you look like a stunt double from Revenge of the Nerds wearing a crappy superstore middle manager uniform. Given you weren't particularly gifted in the physical, mental, or financial sense when the Fog took you, all of the versions of you across the planes are completely unremarkable, even when you go out of your way to dress in biker neons or pizza delivery outfits.

Cowardly: You have never applied yourself in anything before entering the Fog, and given you are the default Survivor on startup, newer players are drawn to using you. As such, while your Host does not have exact estimates, you've only got average odds of survival, and it's presumed that you are one of the most sacrificed Survivors in the myriad realms the Entity controls. You have no special abilities other than your survival instinct and your vote.
And also, IGCD was...
THE DREDGE, SOLO QUEUE Horse-faced Eldritch Being
Back in the 1960s, a man named Otto Stamper rose to the ranks of leader of an island of like-minded individuals. Otto and his retinue urged the folks to purge themselves of any thoughts of darkness and live in an idyllic state of perpetual joy - only slightly marred by an occasional disappearance of one of the spiritual few. Dark thoughts began to manifest as rumors of "the Druanee," a concept the cultists believe was the cause of their sorrow and disappearances. This was not helped by Otto stepping in to "banish" those displaying the dark thoughts (more than likely torturting and murdering them to speed along disappearances.)

Eventually a journalist was dispatched to the island, and Otto decried her in front of his entire congregation as a villain and the source of all "malthought." The journalist shot back accusations of murder and abduction, and Otto responded by slitting her throat, then trying to calm his congregation while turning them against each other, claiming the journalist had allies amongst the cult (and make no mistake, it was a cult.) The crowd turned on each other, accusing one another of malthought, and a slaughter began. Otto watched with detached interest as the previously joyful fold died to the last, and you began to manifest - the fabled Druanee, a being of flesh and shadow made from the carnage and the combined dark thoughts of the Ottomarians. You "ate" the bloody mess all over, adding the corpses to your shadowy mass and leaving Otto untouched, then slunk back into the darkness of the Fog from whence you came.

Horse-faced: In the Entity's realm, an undead horse named Maurice was a mainstay of the carnival inexplicably located next to the Crotus Prenn Asylum. He vanished one day, and the playerbase rebelled. Eventually Maurice reappeared there, but you have also incorporated him into your visage. (Hey, anything's better than the turkey/vagina neck.)
Eldritch Being: While you were most recently summoned to Earth by Otto's engineered slaughter of his congregation, it's speculated that you are but a fragment of the Fog itself given form. Being a mobile part of the Entity's realm allows you to detect nearby players at night while you're at your strongest - you will be notified of the identity of any player visiting you, but not their actions or what they did.

(Feel free to post, there's a lot incoming.)

Likewise. Not familiar with the source at all, is "Madame Web" less about the spidey strength and more about fate-like precognition?

Minor edits are fine, not wholesale arguments.

Also, I neglected to mention Day Actions being locked. Apologies.

Runescape has a pretty big emphasis on combat or skilling less so than puzzles (treasure hunts notwithstanding) but then you have quests like Within the Light or Elemental Workshop 3 and oof.
