To be honest, when games are presented this way - successively, with no breaks, no discussion or anything - they all start to blend together and I zone out a bit. I'm not looking for long, interminable speeches by execs, but just a minor change in the way it's presented.

I'm into Spiderman 2, and even better it looks like they're going to set up Miles vs Peter which I've wanted since the first game

MGS3 remake is obviously the best news in the history of news, and I'm sure I'll have a lovely time replaying MGS 1-3 at the end of the year. Gonna be the first time in a while. Think I last replayed them in 2015 before V came out.

Well I tried to get an early night for once but couldn't sleep so I guess I'm fucking watching this

RE3make might be the only one I prefer to the original. Don't love either of them though. I think the worst crime is Capcom continuing to act like it's anything more than DLC, at least compared to every other main game in the series. I'd have been happy for them to just ignore 3 entirely if it meant remaking the actual RE3.

RE3 Remake was building off RE3 though, so it was always on a hiding to nothing

I think by the standards of being a remake of RE3, it was fairly good

But - and I know how overstated this is, but it should be repeated anyway - they need to give CVX this treatment before they do anything else.

So idk, really. I've never thought to come up with an absolute best. Bunch that I enjoy. I've never been someone who enjoys divorcing vgmusic from its context though which probably doesn't help.

If Salazar hadn't been creepier that would have been a failure. Like they were definitely shooting for that as opposed to the comedic childlike tantrum throwing guy from the original

Luis in the original just wasn't in it enough. He was great whenever he was on screen but died fast after having like, four scenes? Leon's opinion of him wasn't explored much

OK, I think Mercs may be an improvement on the original

I just did all four of the characters S-rank and had the time of my life

I wanted so badly to hate it because of how unnecessary it is, but it was so great

It did a fair few things better than the original. A few misses and head-scratching decisions, and it never quite recaptured the satisfaction from the original of blasting somebody point blank with a shotgun but I was really happy with this overall.

That said, more cause of age, I can't see myself replaying this enough to unlock everything and get that Platinum. We'll see.

Notes about the playthrough:

-I missed one of the locked treasures during the Ashley section and I nearly restarted the whole game. Livid.
-I killed everything I could see. Almost became an ocd thing. Also it was so satisfying.
-that includes Verdugo, killed that guy dead. My pride wouldn't allow me to run
-the shooting ranges seem pretty hard. I got a few s ranks but not all
-I felt a little emotional on the first few notes of the credits, just cause the nostalgia really hit them for some reason
-Saddler being nonexistent for most of the game was a weird choice
-No U3, man I liked that fight
-Krauser fight was a bit of a downgrade. In fact the entire Island section was the weakest of the game. Felt like it lost quite a lot with the removal of the crane game, truck section, u3, and Krauser QTE fight
-Did one of the files indicate that Saddler's left hand was u3? In fact the increase in files/backstory generally was much appreciated.

I think there's something in an mgs2/tlj comparison strictly based solely on original reactions. MGS2 got a lot of backlash upon release

A comparison these days is silly because MGS2 is mostly loved, has mostly aged well, and its detractors aren't as vocal.

The top 10 is almost entirely made out of games that just aren't my thing at all, but then I saw that they have Outer Wilds at #30 and the list is completely redeemed

I liked how high it was, but greedily wanted it higher

List seems pretty good, but no MGS2 given how well that game has aged is a shame. I can't really get on board with MGS1 in the top 10 and 2 not even being on the list.

Yeah I didn't particularly buy into the Rocket fakeout, but I thought Peter might kick the bucket at the end there

So looking up Chukwudi Iwuji it seems he's done most of his work in theatre, and isn't super prolific on the screen

That tallies, cause I found his performance to be really...big and theatrical, especially in some of the flashback scenes with Rocket. He was great. Total bastard.

I saw it last week and was really impressed

I really liked the chase scene with the shapeshifting girl that was all done in one shot, that was great
