This is kinda poor arguments. It's a non-sequitur

If someone is mentally ill or drugged they can't consent: Fair they can't.

But you started out by saying that "some things can't be consented too" which has nothing to do with drugs or mental illness

If they're sane and sober and not under coercion, what should they be banned from doing to their own body?

I'm with the libertarians on this one. You are not the property of the government, that's unironically communism at it's highest.
If someone wants a dom to do permanent bodily harm to them, do an activity that could easily result in their death, or such... Frankly I don't care if it's not yet diagnosed, there's something wrong with such a person and a decent human being would say no, and try to direct that person to professional help.

ill be honest its certainly not the same but this mentality was a large contributor to the 2008 market crisis.

Everyone thought ARMs would be fine and theyd refinance lower. That didnt end up being the case.

The interest rate in the 2000's was still historically low, people were just buying up houses and pulling any trick they could to make the payments lower.
These rates are high compared to the past 2 decades and conversely now greed will work against them. Eventually wall street will get sick of people being able to make money parking it in the banks and want another artificial stock bubble.

I don't know, I don't see how the current rates are sustainable long term w/ how fucked our economy is now. I've been overpaying each month to bring my principle down, just in case... And I want to pay it off in 20 years anyway, that's the goal... Does mean I'm spending over half my net pay (not gross pay; what a stupid metric to measure affordability) on my mortgage, which is rather painful in the short term.

I would stash it somewhere and never use it till the day I die, hopefully of old age. Possibly looking for a more permanent destruction/burying solution along the way.
Meanwhile, bribing my shinigami w/ apples so he's hopefully cool with an uneventful long term vacation to Earth.

Partly b/c extra judiciously killing people is wrong, but to be honest...mostly for my own survival. If one such book exists, others probably do too, and between rival death note owners and the authorities, the less conspicuous I make myself, the better. Definitely would avoid posting my face to social media and using an alias whenever possible, too.
The mere existence of such a "tool" would terrify me more than anything. I care way more about not-dying than I do about killing "people who deserve it".

EDIT: The one thing I always wondered about the DN is...if you put your own name in there (or had someone else write it in, if you can't "off yourself") and intentionally set the date of your own death so ridiculously far in the future that it'd never occur before you die of natural causes... does that effectively "immunize" you to all death notes? Since your name and time/cause of death is already technically recorded in a death note?
A scheme like that to protect myself and maybe others from less scrupulous DN owners would be my only real interest in "using" it, and I'd still probably be too afraid to test that.

The five appellants engaged in sadomasochistic sexual acts, consenting to the harm which they received; whilst their conviction also covered alike harm against others, they sought as a minimum to have their mutually consented acts to be viewed as lawful. None of the five men complained of any of the acts in which they were involved, which were uncovered by an unrelated police investigation.

Ok, this paragraph reads incredibly confusing to me and the rest didn't clarify.
Were the five men the doms or the subs?
Because it sounds like the UK literally convicted them for getting dominated / (arguably) abused? Which would be super fucked up.

As far as overall... I do think there should be limits to what can be "consented" to, and if a sub is asking for or agreeing to extremely harmful or dangerous activities, the dom has responsibility as a human being to not go along with or encourage it. "Consenting adults" is great, but some people are incapable of consent (drugged, significant mental illness, under coercion, ...whatever the current politically correct term for "extremely low IQ to the point they can't function normally" is, etc...).

If the added content is bad, then shouldnt i play the append mode and just skip that stuff?

It's not "bad" necessarily, it just...changes the original story or contradicts it in ways.... I can't go into specifics, so it's hard to explain. That's my opinion, some people apparently liked the new story content.
If you have any intention of playing the new content at all, the game was balanced around experiencing it periodically (the early stuff will be a total joke end game, and give you equipment that would be useful early on but useless late game, basically). So you should just do Perfect mode.
I'm also not sure if you can go to Vault of Time (basically just a place to fight stuff and get rewards) before end game if you do Append Mode, and I can't imagine how grindy things would get w/o access to that gear (b/c again, the 3DS version nerfed the legacy equipment stats and the money enemies drop to buy said equipment).
I guess Vault of Time is the biggest issue. If Append Mode doesn't stop you from going there, I guess it's not so bad. I just remember when Perfect Chronology released, everyone was warning, "don't do Append Mode!"

you really think so? What makes it so special?

It's one of the best stories I've ever experienced with an incredible ending (especially the DS game; the 3DS kind of ruins it a bit in my opinion w/ the added content that mucks w/ the amazing original ending and even introduces contradictory or impossible time line stuff)

The soundtrack, while short for a JRPG, is utterly beautiful, every single track is great.

The cast is really strong, both the party and the antagonists/villains

Battle system is a fun tweak on traditional turn-based combat, where you can risk delaying your turns (thus letting the enemy attack you more up front) to get a long string of them together for combos to group the enemies together and hit all of them for more damage and post-combat xp/money rewards.

Here, just watch this. It's a short intro for the original DS game, covers everything pretty well:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFFPfgujnGw

Perfect Chrolonology (3DS remaster) added voice acting and it's actually pretty good. But it also made a lot of changes I didn't like, including unwelcome additions to the story. I honestly recommend the original b/c I think the 3DS version did more harm than good. Like... it's a 9/10 instead of 10/10...if you can't get the DS version w/o paying an obscene amount then 3DS is good enough, but...

I say this as a huge fan that owns both versions.

Tyranthraxus posted...
If you're playing perfect chronology I recommend ignoring all the red chronicle shit. Just pretend it doesn't exist. If you're playing the original then just have fun and make sure you unlock all the nodes to get the true ending.
If he plays the 3DS version, he should play "Perfect" mode (as opposed to "append" mode; where all the new content isn't available till you beat the game) and do it as it comes up. Because unfortunately the 3DS game re-balanced everything (nerfed) such that you get way less money and the equipment is crappier. So you actually need to at least do the Vault of Time to periodically get gear from there.
But the red chronicle stuff (basically the new story content) is based on the expected level you are when you can unlock it, so it's also kind of lame if you wait till end game to do it all. I guess it could wait, but...if you're going to do it anyway, I don't see why.

I went for an ARM, never thought I would, but it got me at least 1.5% less than the 30 year fixed rate at the time. I have 7 years (of the fixed rate, before it becomes "floating") for the Fed to panic and lower rates so I can lock in a decent fixed rate, which seemed like a pretty safe bet.
People said I should just take the high fixed rate and refinance later. I was like, "if I'm gonna have to refinance later on either way, why not take the lower rate?"

Notice he did the fascist propaganda trick.

He found an outlying Cornell professor, took the bare bones of a quote without context (I don't know if the context makes it better or worse but it's missing), and then saddled the entire left with it.

You mean like people have done w/ some idiot right-wing professor in Israel that's never served in its government or military (besides I assume the mandatory conscription), to tell me that it's official Israeli policy to nuke everything around it if it gets invaded?

The House hasn't done anything in over 2 weeks.
Why are we paying them?
Every day they're not legislating bills, they should be forced to work 8 hours in a soup kitchen or something.

Thomas Hobbes:
The original of all great and lasting societies consisted not in the mutual good will men had toward each other, but in the mutual fear they had of each other.

It's a Yay from me, dawg.
Fear is what kept us from going extinct by now.

It's not the first time he's said that and won't be the last.

It's like when Reps made speeches not long ago about how they're always the first ones to compromise to Dems in order to get the ball rolling and that Dems need to be more willing to compromise. Which was a straight up lie.

Yeah, fuck KMac to hell, I'm so glad he got embarrassed so bad that it's going into history books.
If he had a single functioning brain cell, he could've realized forming a coalition government would've kept him in power, but instead took every chance to go far-right to appease those psychos.

Are the House Republicans really such utter shit bags that not even 4% of them are decent people? That's all that's needed to end this shit.

None of this is a reason for Democrats to vote for Jordan, a guy part of the Trump caucus, conspiracy peddler, and was pro Jan 6th.

Republicans have over 218 members in the house. It's on Republicans to get 218 to vote in their clown. If they can't, it's not on Dems to help vote in a clown like Jordan.

I don't want Gym.
I made that clear.
I hope Dems and swing district Reps come to an agreement specifically to avoid Speak of the House Gym Jordan
