Of those I know, the Predator seems like the easiest to avoid because it's not going to bother fucking about in a civilian area hunting down random people. It's going to search out actual prey.

Star Fox is a game that might actually work as a rougelike because it's just a rather simple arcade style campaign anyway. Rather than play Star Fox 64 three times to see the different paths, you can just always have a different experience.

That's one of the big issues with leaving Fandom. They still get all the traffic, and there will still be a corpse left over. You're basically building a much nicer building in the middle of the woods and hoping people stumble through to find you instead of going to the big cardboard cutout skyrise right on the main road.

I'm curious how many staff members they actually have looking at this kind of stuff. I'd bet money the "manual review" was someone looking over a spreadsheet of hundreds of requests and then using a bot's input to clear them or not. That's why it only ever seems to get shit done when people make a fuss on Twitter and get an actual human response.

It's purposefully ignoring that the checkout process usually involves waiting behind people. If you have an empty line with a staff member and an empty line with a self-checkout, then choosing the staff member is obvious, but that's rarely an option.

That sucks. I was in the middle of trying to block as many advertisers as possible on the app to see what kind of weird shit starts popping up. I'd honestly bet that's the reason why they're removing it (though they could just stop you from blocking them on ads instead). Otherwise, doesn't really matter to me because I don't actually tweet anything, and I don't use the shitty general feed anyway. As long as the stay at home set up is consensual between spouses, and they understand what the other wants from it, then nothing to judge. If its one of those cases where the spouse abuses that setup or simply refuses to work until the inevitable demise of the relationship, then they are an asshole. In the latter case, I would definitely call my brother an asshole, if it ever came up in conversation, but I wouldnt go out of my way to do anything about it.

The dumbest thing is that it would have been relatively simple to do with just a bit of futureproofing. I know one of the Stadium games was a little overdone in terms of length of animations, but those otherwise should have been the basis of GF's animations. Instead, you have models that should punch or kick that do neither, models that should use proper breath/beam attacks that do neither, lazy hopping animations and cheap effects.

I think there's definitely a problem with a lot of modern critics where they think it's their job to make a statement on the piece itself, rather than provide easy to understand commentary for a standard viewer/reader/player. It's obviously a case by case basis, but a lot of the stereotype of self-important reviewers completely missing the mark on how the general audience feels seems to stem from that.

As a kid, I had an obsession with reading. I couldnt put down Animorphs, Goosebumps, the Boxcar Children, Encyclopedia Brown or Harry Potter. I didnt want to play with or talk to other kids. I didnt go outside unless my parents forced me to. I books everywhere I went, even to dinner. It was universally accepted because they were books. Reading is good, right? Accept that it stunted my social growth. Hell, even now I prefer the company of books to people. Id rather be cooped up in a library rather than out and about.

Functionally, there is nothing different between kid me reading a book at dinner and some kid on their iPad at dinner.

Hell, most families stared at the tv like zombies socializing while eating for decades. And the world continued. And those same kids are innovators today.

The kids of today will likely take care of the planet better than we could.
There have always been the hyperfocused children, but this ease of accessibility is likely to generate more problems where there previously weren't. We're talking more about averages than individual experiences. This isn't declaring a social death sentence for any child with an unhealthy interest in media, but more that an increase in lazy parents creating a dependence issue will likely generate an increase in social issues. If there was a chart showing book nerds to gaming nerds to iPad nerds, I'd guess it'd be an extraordinary jump on the third one.

I'd say an iPad is a little different from past pacifiers. It can go anywhere, nearly universally acceptable to use pretty much at all times, and has millions of times the content of something like a Game Boy. I'd say lazy parents that don't teach their kids any sort of moderation with it will definitely increase the likelihood of issues.

It's hard to read but I think I sorta get the gist.

There are publicly already outed figures accused of underaged sex and abuse. Martin has a public history of defending these figures and admonishing people speaking out against them.

LK's also going through some cancer in his family? Not sure of the details but on top of his already poor mental and physical health, it's unlikely he will ever address this document

My take is this: I think because LK's always had poor mental health, he's overly attached to people who were good to him during this period. He's several times cried when he had to part with people in his circle, so yeah, I think the reason for him defending specific people is as simple as that.

I'm not sure if it's even worth cancelling somebody over this. It's not anything LK's done personally. It's all about how he alienated some people in favor of confirmed pedophile and abusers.
Sounds like it might be mostly a nothingburger, if that's the correct reading of the situation. Not that you can't say someone was wrong for defending a piece of shit, but you also have to take into account the length of the friendship and strength of the initial accusations. Look at how hard some people go to bat for complete stranger celebrities and actually imagine being someone who considered them a friend.

Some of the character arcs did border into the nonsensical at times. Lying on the internet isn't a giant sin, but I think some of the roleplay kind of exceeded the bounds of someone trying to come to terms with their identity. Not as bad as fake cancer or pretending to die, but also a giant waste of a lot of people's time who were genuinely trying to be helpful to her and her fake pregnancy.

Very disappointing overall. The overall free art style they were going with is very thematically appropriate, but they forgot the part about needing it to actually be comprehensible. The spastic choreography, horrible framing, and jarring cuts just make it a pain to watch. Compared to something like Naruto vs Pain that was very thematically inappropriate, that at least was mostly comprehensible despite being nonsensical.
