It's "good" in the sense that you'll get a basic salt/fat hit from just about anything on the menu and there's nostalgia of it for a lot of people. Beyond that, it has no real substance and is pretty awful.

I don't like their food generally, but there are two things I like there more than anywhere else:

-McDonalds fries are the best;

-I really like their sweet and sour dipping sauce

Everything else on the menu I could take or leave.

Their fries are bussin, but everything else is mid. Consistently mid though, there's a value in being able to get a practically identical experience wherever you go in the country.

I never understood why it's considered an insult to have "bad taste buds" for liking trash foods? Wouldn't that mean that their taste buds have a higher range of foods that they consider tasty then? And wouldn't that mean that it's a good thing? Lol

I'm kinda addicted to their spicy crispy chicken sandwich. The new one. That sauce is fire.

Wait.. when did they get rid of hot mustard? I could swear my co worker still gets it when he brings nuggets to work, which is fairly often and recently.

I worked at McDonald's like a decade and some change ago, they had grilled chicken then. I feel like they've always had it as long as I've been eating there, I just barely ever ordered it.

McDonalds quality has gone to shit since the pandemic. I'm pretty sure they quietly pushed the fresh QP patties under the rug, too, as they taste like frozen shit now.

Their breakfast is solid, their fries are solid, and best sodas in the game. The Big Mac has been a ripoff for 15 years and with the destruction of the dollar menu, their double cheeseburgers/mcdoubles/mcchickens are not worth $3+ each.

When did they have fresh QP patties? All their beef and chicken has always been frozen. It was when I worked there, anyway.

They still got hot mustard here in Memphis, must be a local thing.

I worked at McDonald's from like 2004-2014 and the entire time I was there we had grilled chicken though the recipe changed a few times. The grilled chicken they had in 2004 when I first started was fucking fantastic though, then they changed the recipe and it wasn't bad but not great and there was one they had that I just straight up didn't like

I would say they have overall the best fast food fries, and they have the best generic bagel breakfast sandwich Ive had anywhere. Other than that, its the overall pretty average.

Its ok if youre on a budget but its definitely not the best fast food place out there

It depends on who's flippin the burgers and how long they sat out.

A fresh double cheeseburger with the right amount of condiments is a different beast than a dry one that's been on the counter for a while.

My local sucks hard. I've gotten burgers and chicken sandwiches there with absolutely nothing on them. Just meat and bread. The manager is this obese ignorant bitch who just rolls her eyes if you complain about a naked sandwich and throws another one on the counter without saying a word. I would try to get her fired but I'm pretty sure her family owns that one

Nobody flips burgers at McDonalds.

For what it costs, it's excellent.

Their chocolate chip cookies are heaven when fresh.

Their fries are the best imo. Their burgers are mid. But that's enough for me to get a burger from them anyways because it'd be a hassle to go to multiple places.

Tbf, a well run burger king is (or at least used to be) really good. Where I lived in Texas there were three different ones within roughly the same distance from where I was and it was pretty much unanimously agreed one of them was by far the best. Every burger king I've tried since then has made me sad.

Big Macs alone save the restaurant. Their fries are good, of the nuggets are fresh they are also pretty fire. Finally, it's still a reliable place to get cheap small burgers and chicken Sammies.

I may be the odd one out on this, but I actually like their fish sandwich. Every once in a while I'll crave one. My wife got me into them, she always either gets that or a Big Mac. I feel like Big Macs used to be.. bigger or something, idk. They're usually a hot mess but even when they are well put together the meat to everything else ratio seems off compared to how they once were.

.. have they ever done a Big Mac with quarter pounder patties? That seems like a winning idea.

Somewhere between "ok" and "really good". And yeah, fries are better than the burgers.

It's play food, & really only satisfying as a snack &/or in a pinch like a road stop to save time, money, & have something familiar.
I won't say it's bad, because frankly, McD's has a varied enough menu to find decent options.

It's alright. Most of it seems like it's just nostalgia over anything. AndI don't really get why people say the fries are the best. They really aren't, at least not in my opinion. Certainly not compared to several other fast food burger stops.

Most other countries McDonald's food is good compared to the slop the US gets.
