You can make an argument either way, but the biggest issue is that these corporations aren't doing shit in stopping this kind of behavior. And it's because they don't care, because ultimately they just pass the cost onto the consumer. It's scary just how common these occurrences are, and if nothing is done about it, we're only moving towards a state of total anarchy.

It's not like our billionaires are at risk of becoming homeless. They're not trying to maintain their wealth, they just want more. And because of the pandemic, they realized they can get away with charging more, because what are the peasants going to do?

This is why I never bother looking up the weather. I'd have better accuracy predicting it by flipping a coin. I just stick my head out the window and come up with my own forecast.

I've played with many of them, but growing up K'nex was almost my favorite. I guess part of what I liked was how you could build large contraptions with relatively few pieces. I'll always remember the Big Ball Factory set. It had 3000 pieces and stood about 5 feet tall, which was taller than me at the time. They also had the rollercoaster set, which is something Lego didn't do until many years later. Oh, and the other thing I like more about K'nex is how there's only a few dozen core pieces, so you could buy any set and you'll get pieces that can be used to make whatever. But with Lego, you probably have like 10,000 different pieces at this point and certain pieces only come in certain sets, so it's an expensive chore if you want to track down what you want. And lastly, you can build things that are extremely rigid and durable. I'll take this opportunity to show off my Master Sword:

Isn't this already the general sentiment of the population? Of course you have your exceptions, but I think most people already have a disdain for the rich.

I've never followed either artist and yet I'm familiar with many of MJ's songs. Can't say the same about Taylor Swift. Maybe I've heard her songs but I don't recognize that they're hers, because she has a generic pop voice. MJ had a much more distinct sound. Even if I didn't know the song, I could tell it was him singing. Maybe it's a generational thing, but I think MJ was a few steps higher when it comes to global stardom.

Roaches can't swim, right? I'd put on the stopper on the sink, and flood the bathroom until I have a nice protective pool to sit in.

The internet as we know it is over. I don't even use the internet browser on my phone because any site I go to has ads that take up 90% of the page. It's a challenge trying to click somewhere just to scroll down. It's like a game of Minesweeper. And then Youtube...it's only bearable because I can skip ads. There's just so much garbage and clickbait. If I'm forced to watch 30 seconds of ads only to decide to hit the back button immediately, I'm not going to bother. Youtube hogs so much of my time as it is that if they fully implemented this, it would probably be a blessing in disguise.

What Korean shows are people watching and enjoying? I've jumped between a few and I just can't get into them. The pacing just seems so incredibly slow. It doesn't help that episodes are often over an hour long instead of the standard 42-43 minutes for most dramas. It feels like a huge investment just to get a taste to see if you like it or not. And I should mention, I don't really care for the horror genre, which I know rules out a decent chunk.

White knight? I didn't say she's innocent. She deserves all the punishment he got and more. But it's the job of the school and police/lawyers to determine what the consequences should be. Unless you want to argue that vigilantism is perfectly acceptable.

It's kind of crazy how the best defense anyone can muster for this girl is to infantilize her or reduce the agency of her actions as much as possible. It's not even about the strength of the slap, but whether or not you believe you are at risk of sustaining injury. She slapped him and proceeded to walk away. There was no ongoing threat. By hitting her back, the guy suffers a net loss. He gets attacked by another student, gets suspended, puts himself at risk of being sued, or earning a criminal record. He gained absolutely nothing at all.

Nope. Her slap wasn't anywhere near strong enough to inflict any kind of bodily harm. The response was completely disproportional. A five year old could have slapped harder than that. Would you send them to the floor too?

I played and beat it for the first time about a year or two ago. Surprised by how much I enjoyed it. A tale of horror set in NYC during Christmas season. I don't think there's anything quite like it.

I'm just learning that this sub didn't even have a real window. They took this risk to view the Titanic through a monitor? Something that anyone can do from their own homes? And they paid 250k to do it? I feel like I'm missing something. Like maybe there was no one on the sub and these people wanted to fake their deaths and start a new life somewhere.

The people on the road are the main reason why I rarely ever leave the house. I wish I could take more vacations (which I desperately need), but I just can't stand the aggravation that comes with driving. There's way too many literal psychopaths out there. Either that or they're just completely braindead. Probably from drugs or alcohol. I've avoided so many accidents by driving under the assumption that the cars next to me will do the dumbest thing possible. I had this one close call the other day where a car pulled out directly in front of me. And I waited for it. I was already prepared to hit the breaks and if I wasn't, I would have struck him real good. And things won't get any better. People texting brought on a whole new level of danger. It's just an incredible display of total disregard for other people's lives.

It was never going to work. Simply because 99% of the userbase doesn't know or even care about the API fiasco. It's just like how people online complain about DLC in gaming, but in real life, people actually consume it in large doses. Just goes to show that the attitudes of people online don't always reflect those in reality.

I fear this is going to end up too childish. Zelda should have the tone of that one Majora's Mask fan-made trailer.

Yes, context matters. In this case the word happened to appear in a string of letters in a URL. It wasn't being used as a slur. Now if the other F word happened to appear in a URL, it wouldn't be an issue. The only way I can make sense of it is if the mere sight of the word is considered offensive. Which is still odd considering there are PTSD triggering words that we are allowed to use freely here.

I think everyone missed my point. I was trying to post a URL that contained those letters at random. I couldn't post the link because the URL happened to contain those letters together.

Right now would be a great time to start.

It's a funny thing, that despite our capabilities to preserve tremendous amounts of data, we're at risk of losing so much of it. Anthropologists in the future are going to look back at our civilization and find swaths of missing information. In the interest of cost-cutting, we're going to see so many forms of media disappear. Even Imgur is going to wipe out all images that are not tied to an account. I think we're at a point in the digital age where if we really want to preserve things, we need to start printing them out and bind them into a book and store them in a vault.

But then again, I don't think they would be able to sustain their colonies anymore. They won't be able to extract their pollen and all of that. So I assume they would quickly die.
