Let's remember that birthright citizenship was originally a quick way to give the freed slaves US citizenship. If the law is repealed, that would mean me and a lot of other blacks would no longer be considered US citizens.

That's what people like DeFascist wants. They see the looming demographic change on the horizon, especially in a state like Texas where Hispanics make the largest population.

It's not a surprise, the whole thing surrounding Ezra Miller was like a lead weight strapped to this film. The Flash is one of my favorite DC characters, but I'll probably catch this film when it comes out on streaming.

It's not even that for most of us black people. I have no idea why a fringe wants to insist "woke" is part of of our average vocabulary, dialect, or vernacular language in the states. Insisting it's an important word to us, when it's really, not. At best a fraction of a fraction coined it decades ago, and right wingers latched onto it in 2020 actually bringing awareness to the word (although hysteria awareness).

If it wasn't for right wingers and their frequent hysteria of the word, most regardless of color (including black people) wouldn't even hear the word used at all.

I doubt that, especially in the South. I've been hearing that word since I was in grade school and I'm in my late 30s. It wasn't as popular when I was coming up but it wasn't unknown, it was generally used to describe someone that was a real 'right-on' cat.

Hardly anyone will say that we've made NO progress, but we could do a lot better. The 57ish years of integration that we've enjoyed are really the nation's second attempt at racial justice. The first attempt (Reconstruction aka Integration 1.0) last about 12 years before being put down with EXTREME racial violence and a Fed and Supreme Court that turned its back on black citizens ushering in Jim Crow. We're in Integration 2.0, what will happen now, especially if slapdicks like DeRacist and (God forbid) Trump get into office again? We're in Integration 2.0 now, but also under the second Civil Rights legislation (the first got axed buly the SC following the end of Reconstruction), the rights that we do enjoy have always been tenuous hanging by a thread.

Obama getting to the Presidency isn't a good marker of where we are, he got in by a coalition of minorities and a portion of white voters, he did not get the majority white vote both times he ran (as with any Democrat during Presidential elections over the last five decades, but even more pronounced in this case). Hate groups actually wanted him to win to accelerate their agendas like another user said. Over the entire history of the United States we've only had 11 black Senators, of which 8 are still alive. We could do a lot better.

Again since reading comprehension seems to be an issue here. Just like a tail wagging doesn't necessarily mean a dog ia happy, yawning can mean a number of things from a dog. Yawning could mean that it is tired, content OR anxious/avoidant. If a dog is uncomfortable it may yawn, show whale eyes, turn his head away, lick his lips, these are visual cues. If these cues are ignored then the dog may act out more forcefully, the dog in the initial video didn't want to be bothered. This is basic canine behavior.

That's the thing, this kind of ignorance is everywhere, even California has some places that are reminiscent of the Deep South once you get outside of the cities. It's more of a rural vs. urban thing. Houston is the largest city that is close to me and it's very diverse and progressive, go an hour and a half outside of the city limits in certain areas and you either have the elite suburb type racism or the Deliverance banjo playing type.

This is partially correct, aside from the strawman. Genetics play a part, Pit Bulls have bulldog and terrier ancestry, they generally have a higher level of dog v. dog aggression. It's not a one size fits all though, some dogs are hot and can't stand the sight of another dog, some are in the middle, and some are cold with no dog aggression.

If you know your bulldog is dog aggressive, then perhaps it's not a good idea to bring it around an area where there might be dogs. This is why I don't believe in bringing Pit Bulls, terriers, or any guardian breed around dog parks because it's basically a free for all with a lot of dogs and their owners are often not paying attention. My Corso hated intact male dogs or dogs that were pushy, I didn't set her up for failure by bringing her where dogs are just running all over the place uleashed.

History shows the "loving family pibbles who has been in the family for years" can actually randomly snap. No matter how trained and well behaved it's been the past X amount of years.

This is the kind of stuff I was just talkijg about. There are always precursors to bites and attacks, just because you aren't familiar with them and the family is ignorant in picking up these cues doesn't mean that it does not exist.

The "family dog" who bites also shows warning signs and/or signs of avoidance and discomfort.

There are always precursors to bites and attacks. The exception would be the rare instance where a dog might be ill for example and react but other than that no.

There are different kinds of aggression and different levels of aggression.

Animal and human aggression are not the same. Just because a dog is aggressive towards another animal it doesn't mean that it will turn it around on a human.

Terriers like Pit Bulls, Jack Russells, Westies etc are typically animal aggressive. Guardian breeds like Dobermans, Rottweilers, Cane Corsos, Filas, Presa Canarios etc are more inclined to be human aggressive due to their use as personal or estate guardians. Does that mean that they'll snap off at any and every human? No, it means they usually have a natural suspicion of strangers, especially when they come onto their owner's property.

This doesn't take into account fear and resource guarding aggression, the former is the one that I consider to be the worst.

Most dog owners are like most parents and think their fur babies (just like most parents think their actual children) are perfect or great as-is.

Let's face it: not everyone is cut out to be a pet owner/parent. Just because you can have children or buy/adopt a pet doesn't mean you should. Extremely irresponsible parents/owners out there that have no business being in charge of any other life than their own.

It's why I don't recommend a lot of popular breeds for people looking for a dog. I tell beginner or novice owners to leave working breeds, guardian breeds, terriers, etc alone. I have a buddy that went and got a Belgian Malinois after I told him not to, dog is driving him nuts, even I wouldn't get a Malinois because I know what owning one would entail.

They can survive out of the water for a while, but it stresses them. They'll swim up when I'm adding plants or cleaning the tank but I prefer if they don't come into contact with me.

My male is doing fine, but the female looks like she ate too many feeder fish yesterday and her stomach is a bit bloated. I read that they'll regurgitate if they feel they can't digest everything but she hasn't so far, she seems uncomfortable rn.

It's my first time raising axolotls, the Science Dept. head left them in my care when she left to go to another school. They're pretty interesting to watch.

Not worth the risk imo

My grandfather used to say all dogs have teeth, the first face transplant was result of a Lab attack. I caught more flak from the smaller breeds than big ones because people didn't correct their behavior and thought the snapping was "cute", I grew up with Chows and Rottweilers. People need to learn how to train, socialize and interact with dogs, too many ignorant dog owners running around.
