This game rocks. There are quite a few photography games out now but most of them don't really hit the same notes as Pokemon Snap. Penko Park is just a Pokemon Snap game, but with horrible little gremlins instead of Pokemon and a sprinkling of anti-colonial/anti-capitalist themes. Genuinely a delight to play through, and pound for pound probably a better game than New Pokemon Snap. --- Congrats to BKSheikah, who knows more about years than anyone else. |

100%'d the main game in a 3 hour marathon but I'm also gonna do Basto (which I didn't do, or it wasn't out, when I did my previous playthrough). Still a great little adventure though I wish the pacing was better in the final area. Letting your character climb ropes faster would be a game changer there. KCF0107 posted... Damn, I'm older than Gumshoe in PW:AA. I haven't played this since I was a teenager, but I assumed he was 35 at the minimum.Ace Attorney ages are complete nonsense. Definitely one of those series where I have to mentally add like 7 years to most of the cast to make it make sense. --- Congrats to BKSheikah, who knows more about years than anyone else. |

but if I had to pick just one I'd say Phoenotopia: Awakening, a massive, deep, 2D action-adventure-RPG (not technically a metroidvania but it's got those vibes). It's one of those games that seems so packed with things to do and secrets that it's practically impossible to experience it all. Very, very hard combat by default but with very granular difficulty options that let you do things like change which attacks consume stamina or whether healing items can be used from a menu or must be used in real time. Beautiful spritework. Interesting story that unfortunately ends on a cliffhanger that will never be followed up on, because of course it does. one of the games of all time for sure. --- Congrats to BKSheikah, who knows more about years than anyone else. |
