Which is a bad point to make. Using a single metric to compare scoring from 50 years ago to deny that scoring is up now from recent years is either flat earth crazy or irrelevant nitpicking.

Scoring is up recently. People aren't wrong to say that because of league averages in the 1970s. They aren't hypocrites either because 1. The people complaining now were not watching in 1970. 2. The reasons for higher scores in the 1970s are not in any way related to the reasons for higher scores today.

If people say "I don't like that scoring is up recently" what is the point of trying to deny that by bringing up the 1970s? Not only is that not recent but those years have no relation to what's happening with scoring today.

I'm not old enough to care about cherry picked years from the 1970s. And league averages can be deceiving with how many have-nots there are. Plenty of games you're going to actually watch these days are getting like 125 ppg.

I grew up watching 90s-2010s ball where it was considered a high scoring game if both teams were firmly in the triple digits. 150 points wasn't just "ok that happens but not the norm" it was a "no that never happens."

Why spend an hour watching buckets that are meaningless when the final 2 min 50 point blitz decides games. It's felt too easy to score the last few years.

I don't think any real person is making it out of the village if they have to play it through like Leon did. Maybe if someone is allowed to take their own paths they could escape but if you gotta go through the events and do the fights then no fucking way does any person make it through the village when they all attack you.

The other thing I don't LOVE right now with NBA is how the players are basically creating All-Star teams and then "loser" teams. I like the players having more autonomy, but then you get the thing where some asshat like Harden can force a trade to ONE team because he is Harden.

Baseball made rule changes that greatly enhanced the viewing experience. No one cared foe statnerds and players adjusting their batting gloves for 30 minutes dead time.

NBA needs to make some changes as well. This 3 point chuck fest just ain't it.

There's like 1 perimeter shooting foul a game most nights, and that's usually because defender steps underneath the shooter when they're landing (Which is very dangerous).

Beyond that, FTAs have been at one of the lowest points they've ever been in league's history over the last 8 years or so. In fact, these last three seasons have basically had the highest FGA to FTA ratio in history. Shooting fouls are abnormally low right now but casuals who only watch flop compilations instead of actual games don't even recognize that shit.

Those teams had scrotum-level thinking. Lots of "balls", but no brains. "Shoot, shoot shoot", no matter what the situation. I'd have hated being a fan of that team.
