You know how soap bottles always say that they kill 99% of germs? There's that 1% of germs from when you wipe your ass still present on your hands when you eat a sandwich. If humanity has survived this long flushing the toilet in the same room in which they brush their teeth, I think they'll do just fine now.

I try to keep the exposure down low, but it'll always be compromised to some degree. I always use mouthwash afterwards for 30 seconds or more to help out at the least.

Not really, no. However when I lived at home my sister always left the toilet lid up and flushed without putting it down. Im not overly worried about germs but I would at *least* flush with the lid closed because the toothbrushes were relatively close by.

Another reason why it sucks living with people and Im glad I live on my own now.

keep your lid open if you want to. but if i got a way to make less poop fly in the air, for basically no effort, i'll do it. i'm not of the belief that closing the lid means 0 poop particles, and i don't think anyone else believes that either.
