did he have some kind of high position before leaving the job? Probably not too high at the time, he mustve been early 30's. But was definitely a salaried position with his own office. Guessing it mustve been some accountant position at the time. And it was so for a while until business started drying up and he was left with no money. So he tells me that he had no other choice, but to call the company (exxon) and take a shot at the dark. Calls the secretary and asked her to connect him with the boss, she actually does and my dad explains to him the situation...
The boss's response? "Well great timing your call, cause your replacement just quit so the job is yours if you want it". Also he got like a 1k raise as well since there were market adjustments since he left. That just...blows my mind. Straight out of some cartoon. I can barely see that happening today. The boss would probably pray on the persons desperation and thats IF they were to hire them back. Definitely different times. Also yeah, we fail 100% of the shots we dont take...or that miracles can happen. --- SEXY SEXY! |

Dont really picture them buying toys, as many vet visits, pet insurance, pet meds...etc. We love pets, theyre our friends, family, but it's also another added expense (if you have a pet) that keeps our generation from saving money. What I mean is our gen treats pets as their children and that incurs on more expenses that previous gens didnt for the most part.
Im just seeing all the financial audit shows and see all these expenses that our parents and grand parents didnt have. All the subscription services, cellphone, internet...etc. All of this in addition that most salaries dont catch up with inflation. We're really set up to fail unless you make a lot of money or live a very frugal lifestyle. --- SEXY SEXY! |

Legendarys dont feel special since there are so many and they have to deal with the complaints of not having the entire pokedex on each new game. It's approaching nearly 20 years and the ball has just kept dropping and never picked back up. Kinda crazy when you think about it. Like the simpsons, ff has been garbage for longer than its been good. Remake and 16 were a return to form...for the most part. REmake perfectly captured how a modern party based system should be and 16 had epic stuff going on with some great characters. Didnt quite reach the mark on everything, but still miles better than 13 and 15. Rebirth looks very promising. --- SEXY SEXY! |
