| Lopen 08/13/23 6:00:55 PM #58 | I mean to be fair most of us don't eat dogs either and probably certain Pokmon wouldn't be eaten for the same kinda reason-- nothing to do with intelligence or wisdom and everything to do with pet status. But the ones that aren't as common as pets and were edible would absolutely be eaten.
My umbrage is with the idea that Pokmon are substantially more intelligent than more intelligent animals and yeah I just don't think so A cat or dog is probably smarter than a pidgey. A dolphin is probably smarter than a Seaking. A chimpanzee is probably smarter than an Infernape. Bears are probably smarter than Ursarings. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

Yes Gamora died and came back in Infinity War but functionally she may as well have died offscreen. The story you're telling doesn't need the details of how or why she died and came back, just that she did-- because the focus isn't on the old Gamora it's on Quill coping and the new Gamora. (Who you can extrapolate from GotG1) It's all pretty easy to understand for purposes of the movie. It's not delving into "who is this guy" "why is this guy doing this" blah blah because the first bit of the movie is Quill going on a depressed bender and you can figure it out from there. It's not really standard MCU fare at all. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

GotG1 deserves some credit for having nothing to start with and building a really cool world and charming cast, but I only really feel like GotG3 uses movies from its own series as a crutch it's not really overly MCUified so you know, building on the series and using the character developments has value too. --- No problem! Ashe and Basch are character archetypes who have less competition and as such look better comparatively even if I did initially prefer Balthier. It's basically a pretty meh version of a character archetype I really like vs decent versions of character archetypes I'm not as fond of. The older I get, the more stories I experience, Balthier just seems less and less special. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |
