Sure lets talk about videogames instead of politics.

I really love how in Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, which Im playing right now, the developers chose to really hammer home the point that in America the Nazis didnt even need to use their technological advantage to conquer the country; Americas legacy of white supremacy lead it to join them almost without resistance. Then of course, the first resistance leaders in America you meet are lead by a black woman with a child (who breastfeeds on screen, in a rarity even for mainstream media, let along FPS games). Black women having been at the forefront of social change and revolution for much of American history, this is a great nod to that.

I havent got past that part in the game yet, but really enjoying the storytelling (cool that they confirmed BJ Blaskowicz is Jewish, interesting to see how his heroism comes from living through his childhood with an abusive, racist father) and the unabashed stance that yes, punching Nazis is okay, and that America has a white supremacy problem and always has. I also like the gun that shoots little sticky bombs you can remotely detonate.

because zonbei has ignored the studies that prove piracy doesn't decrease sales. he has to type 4 paragraphs of bootlicking to justify his anti-consumer beliefs

zonbei doesnt even understand what piracy is or how it differs from theft

I wasnt talking about piracy. I was talking about theft. Youre the one that doesnt seem to know the difference. I have no problem with piracy when it isnt blatantly theft. Which it is when you say I dont like them charging money, so Im cancelling my subscription and pirating all their shit instead. Thats not the same thing as I cant afford this so Ill pirate it or the service is so terrible and unusable Ill pirate it or its not available so Ill pirate it.

Also, the very study youre so smugly citing didnt prove that piracy doesnt affect sales. Heres the actual words from the actual study:

The results do not show *robust statistical evidence *of displacement of sales by online copyright infringements. That *does not necessarily mean that piracy has no effect* but only that the statistical analysis does not prove with sufficient reliability that there is an effect.

It DID find that pirating recent top box office hits actually DID impact sales negatively. This is, again, the literal study youre citing.

No ethical consumption under capitalism, so in that regard morality is artificial. Especially in the digital age where making a copy of something is not even remotely comparable to stealing from an apple cart. Part of what makes stealing wrong is that it deprives the owner of the item.

Since you edited this: thats part of what makes stealing wrong, but thats not all of it. If you steal an apple from a farmer, youre not just depriving them of the item. Youre depriving them of the profit they would have made from selling the apple to you, a person who wants the apple, which they spent time and effort on growing.

While physically depriving them of it doesn't apply to digital items, stealing the product of their work does. Stealing isnt magically not stealing because its digital. People put time and effort into these shows/movies/whatever. People put work into the platform. when you dont pay for it but just download all the shit anyways, youre stealing the product of that work/the proceeds. sure, they can sell it to someone else because you didnt physically deprive them of it, but youve still benefited from the work without compensating them for it, without their permission.

and then you go well I wasnt going to buy it anyways so they didnt lose the profit. Ignoring that that isnt actually true in many cases, thats where the word entitlement comes in. If you arent going to buy something, then you dont get to have it. Thinking you deserve it anyways so you might as well steal it is literally the definition of entitlement.

And sure: the giant corporation can easily eat that loss. They probably deserve to lose profits. That doesnt make it not stealing. I just dont really think I dont like what you did and dont want to pay for your product, so Im going to steal your stuff is a morally good stance. The company loses JUST as much profit and is hurt just as badly if you simply dont use their product. The stealing isnt some moral good or a necessity. It isnt sending a message. its just you getting a thing you want.

Imagine being such a bootlicker you think Netflix didnt make an anti-consumer decision

Of course its an anti-consumer decision. Theyre a giant corporation. Every single decision every single corporation makes is pro-making money. Any decision that seems pro-consumer is for the aim of making money.

If you dont like what theyre doing, dont consume their products. Take a principled stand and decide not to use their stuff. Not Ill just steal it so I dont actually have to lose anything or sacrifice even the slightest bit in order to have a stance on this. Because in the end, even if its a giant corporation, youre still just stealing shit because you dont want to pay for it. And society is built on people not just taking whatever the fuck they want because they can. (Or at least it should be. Late stage capitalism has allowed far more of that than is healthy and thats why everything is going to shit.)

I dont have to have morals, a giant company made me feel bad by breaking a promise I probably made up! Alright bud. Stealing just because you dont want to pay for things is like one of the most basic of morally bad things. Going stop moralizing doesnt change that.

If you want companies to stop doing things to keep making more money than before, (you know, the basic premise and literal only goal of a corporation), maybe do something useful about our late stage capitalist society instead of uh *checks notes* spending a bunch of money on 40TB servers or whatever so you can steal shit and watch tv.

No, Im not. If a company offers a family plan, then its not stealing to use it. How is a family plan the same thing as just using someone elses password and login to use the service theyre paying for for yourself? Netflix has a family plan analogue. It costs money. In fact, literally every single family plan that every single service has costs more than a plan for a single person. So I literally.. dont know what youre talking about.

I didnt even say sharing your password is stealing. Im saying that its understandable for the company to not allow it because it was basically something free people were getting for no real reason. It wasnt stealing, because it was allowed. Its also not wrong for a company to want people to.. pay for its products? At least within the framework where we allow companies to exist at all?

Now, making a server to download all their shit or whatever is in fact stealing.

I bought a ticket to the theater and then photocopied it and gave five to my friends, but the theater didnt bother stopping that for a long time. Giant corporations are evil. That doesnt mean literally every single thing they do is evil. Wanting people to pay for Netflix when theyre watching it in multiple households is.. fine as far as giant corporations go. I think people should pay for our products is like the most basic thing a corporation can try to enforce.

Screaming 'right wing!' doesn't disprove the cultist assertion btw. That's one of the reasons that community earns that label.

Thank god nobody ever just screams RIGHT WING. Usually its people debunking the dumb bullshit people like you are saying, while also mentioning youre clearly a right wing troll or worse, a true believer. Then you only read two words and ignore the rest because then you dont have to have an actual argument.

Less likely to body shame and topless on Twitter: two reasons to like Veronika more than Jessica. (Three if you count her name being sexier.)

The fourth reason is that even from the tiny blurry image on here you can tell shes hot as fuck

Yeah all those reasons are ridiculous. You watch the movie and give fair criticism or don't and leave it at that.

Youd think, and yet here we are. I have yet to see a criticism in like 5 topics of this that didnt just call the movie bad and provide no reason. I mean Im sure its not even that good, but I suspect most of the people bothering to whine about it on gamefaqs havent watched it.
