Politics is being discussed in some form or another on all the popular gaming boards. A character not having square boobs (Tifa) was political discussion for the better part of a month. The SF5 board last I visited was anti-sjw hot garbage because of the change to Mika's super.

Games frequently have political angles with regards to them as well.
Anyways, this board will likely follow.

That first sentence just isnt generally true. Did it happen? Probably. Everything happens at some point. But Im betting you were seeing people like TonyKojima who were known trolls, mostly.

as for the second bit Ive been active since the announcement and I havent seen anyone say that? Was it earlier in this topic? If so thats maybe one person, right? Im an evil left wing politics board poster and I know full well this is entirely on Fandom not wanting politics on their sites.

It was shut down because Fandom doesnt like politics being talked about on their sites. Thats literally all there is to it.

And in my experience the only people who got called MAGAS are the ones who.. clearly were. Im sure some were falsely called that, but thats because they were espousing right wing and alt right opinions. Nobody falls for the Im a liberal but thing anymore.

I have to seriously question why people think that taking down the politics board on a website about videogames means it's the death knell of the website. Or at least, I would question that if it weren't for the fact that the majority of the people saying that near exclusively posted in that dumpster fire, maybe CE in the political topics, and literally nowhere else. Makes me question why here of all places to talk politics instead of some other website, but OK I guess.

I mean, I post all over the place and I also think its the death knell of the website. I dont think its politics specifically being gone thats the issue (although it certainly makes me less likely to visit gamefaqs), I think its the clear intervention of Fandom and their bullshit reason for doing so.

If they had set the 261 karma level requirement to 500 that alone would have solved so many of the issues on that board. The problem posts were usually new accounts.

They werent interested in solving the issues with this move, its all about aligning with the Fandom brand. Fandom saw some thing on there they didnt like and decided it had to go.

as of Tuesday, May 16, we closed all political discussion boards on GameFAQs, specifically ones that violate our terms of use by promoting abusive language.
What a shitty thing to say. I've never even been to that board, but no gamfaqs boards "promote abusive language".

Technically the politics boards promoted abusive language because the mods didnt (couldnt?) ban racists.

However calling someone an idiot wasnt allowed so they werent promoting that level of abuse at least. Silly fandom.

If youre setting the precedent that any given board can just disappear on a whim with extremely vague reasoning and regardless of how long its been around, then Im suddenly feeling very wary about any board I frequent here, game-related or otherwise.

Seriously though this is yet another thing thats going to lead to the final death of this website. I certainly will have less reason to visit. I know its sort of dumb, the politics board was a mess, but Ive been checking it for a long time and it was an easy way to see some of the stuff going on in politics without needing to wade into fucking Twitter. Really shitty how abrupt it was, as well.

Its probably a good thing for me in the long run to not have to see that cesspool and interact with those people. Im getting older and now the inertia wont keep me wasting my time when I should be focusing on my relationships and whatnot. But good for gamefaqs? Nah lol.

I think the movie was purposely trying to portray that even if society has beaten you down you still have no right to go on a murderous rampage.

It did a super great job of that by basically making the ending him triumphantly starting a movement because the movie isnt sure whether its about mental health or about capitalism and oligarchy being bad for the average person or about anarchy.

Some of you guys are missing the point of The Joker movie. It's not only a characters study of someone who has clearly a lot of mental health issues, but also shows the failures of our mental health care as well.

Yeah I didnt miss that incredibly surface level theme they hamfistedly shoved into the movie. Its a very obvious point made poorly by a movie thats basically just copying another movie, entirely carried by the performance of one actor.

The fact it has a single (extremely fucking muddled, barely explored) message about mental health sort of sandwiched in between a bunch of plodding scenes doesnt make it good.

Being yourself and having a good personality alone doesn't matter. Having a good personality on top of many things(good career/job) along with taking care of your appearance opens up a man to a larger pool of women and is beneficial in he long run.

The trick to getting woman is not only being able to talk to them, but having your money up and taking care of your appearance. Women have plenty of options, so why would they choose the 2/10 with a funny personality over the man who has money, status, looks, and personality/hobbies on top of this?

The crazy thing is that being myself and having a good personality, on top of not being a misogynistic piece of shit, is the entire reason Im currently dating the people I am and have dated the many people I have. Again: you are living in a different reality.

You know what opens up a man to a larger pool of women? Emotional intelligence.

TC is right to an extent. There's always some degree of sexual tension between a male and female friend, no matter how platonic the friendship might seem.

I remember when during a spring break vacation, I ended up sharing a hotel room with a female friend with a single bed.
