3d world was great

etrian odyssey has a pretty clear allusion to the japanese subjugation of the ainu and i have seen people who try to pass it all off as a coincidence

the first two seasons were pretty boring but it eventually got pretty good

the newer episodes are hit-or-miss though

The non-hedgehog levels get way too much shit. They aren't as fun as the hedgie levels, but they're nowhere near as bad as Big's levels in SA1. The only advantage to Big is that his levels are all confined to his own story, so if you just want Sonic or Tails levels, you don't hafta stop to do his awful fishing.

big's fishing is so fucking easy once you realize froggy is always right next to you at the start and that you have to press down to hook. his levels are like 20s long at most

it sucks to get all the emblems but beating his story is one of the least painful in the game. even sonic has more trash in it, like the casinopolis-ice cap-chaos 4-sky chase stretch, and then later you play sky chase 2 which is really bad. tails doesn't even have twinkle park or speed highway to make his stretch any better, and his gameplay is overall way less substantial than sonic's

mechs and hunting are just boring. there are like 3 total hunting levels that are vaguely demanding but otherwise you can just loop them in quick circles and get an easy a rank. i understand why people hate hunting but i don't understand how people struggle with most of the levels when death chamber, mad space, and maybe aquatic mine are the only levels with any real complexity and can't be so easily lapped. mech stages are just the most repetitive platforming that banks on the intrinsic satisfaction on getting big chains

i don't think any of the gameplay modes are bad but most of them are just really mediocre and even the best gameplay style has a few bad moments and bad levels in both games

there's so much stupid "middle ground" and "both sides" shit
there's no need to appease bigots and idiots

the jokes about peter being a pedo were very constant, just like jokes about peter being sexually incapable, being attracted to men, and being in a failed marriage
there's a small pool of jokes the show just absolutely loves to draw from

remakes are boring when the developers don't take liberties to make a refreshing new experience

i never cared for chrono trigger's combat but seeing a new take on it in 3d could be pretty cool

amazing art and music and dungeons are fun

exploration is kinda bad because the world map is so puny. kinstones suck because the rewards they give are underwhelming. instead of being mini dungeons with heart pieces, they're just shitty empty rooms with a single chest that often just have lame shells which gate the worst heart piece in the game

good on him for having so much money to waste on this

i don't really care. if a gameplay segment is just a waste of time i'll use glitches to skip them, like how i always abuse the bug to reuse animals in sa2 because the chao garden sucks and growing a chao normally takes so fucking long and there are several emblems behind it

it says a lot about a bad mechanic if people just want to use cheats or glitches to skip it

the picross s was are well-made and have decent tutorials, though with the weird caveat that the "mega picross" puzzles are reused "normal picross" puzzles but with different hints

multiplayer with friends alone is worth it, nothing like getting some funny-bad garbage or a strange troll level to all laugh at

if you load an action stage first before loading that file, sonic will instead be able to select the quit option from the pause menu and will be sent to whatever action stage (and specific act of that stage) you were just at

i played 3 when it released and wow was it incredibly repetitive, reusing the same maps over and over and over again all the time

the levels are generally better than the 3ds game's were
there's a really obnoxious grind if you want to get to the last bit of levels but it's otherwise a good time

life has been super awful lately so it'd be nice to get a prize

i'm on the fence about it

i don't know how varied random encounters are and how challenging it is

on gamecube you had to go out of your way to attack the chao by standing still and pressing the button prompt, it's not ilke the dreamcast original where you could easily spin dash into them by accident (a move disabled entirely in the ports)

secret of mana has amazing aesthetics and multiplayer is inherently fun interactions but the combat sucks and the writing is pretty dumb

not really, people tend to conflate "a bunch of weirdos on the internet got really upset" with "the general audiences hated this thing"
it's why some things get season after season despite people on the internet constantly bitching: there's some level of popularity that they just don't seem to get

chalmers has a few good moments but more than most characters the writers completely misunderstood and ruined him: they use him way too much now, he lacks any of the big presence that made him so memorabel in the first place, and they really love overdoing that awful gag where he always yells "skin-nerrrrr!" (and various other words) in really forced ways

lisa was the subject of a lot of the best episodes in the classic era and she was always a fun character alongside her brother, so despite getting extremely grating as the series went on she's a big part of so many of the best moments that i find it hard not to pick her

i really like difficult rpgs, if this game were really hard i'd be very interested in it

there are unique chao eggs in the hub world, not in levels

the garden feels like a prototype in dc

first had a taste of it with some demo disc or rental, i forget which, that my older brother had
many years later i got a copy of the game and while i did enjoy it at the time as a fresh new kind of rpg, it's not something i really want to revisit
it's a game with really funny voice acting, though, my friends and i quote the game all the time
it's a "good memory" kind of game that i don't thing is super well-designed, i just played it at the right time
