If we are still here in a billion years, we would have eventually discovered how to do things that we cannot imagine today. With all that time, anything is possible.

Not correct. Galaxies are moving away from us. The stars in our galaxy will always be in the same position from us. Also, if it gets to the point that everything is too far away, we would have found a way to transcend our physical bodies to something less tangible.

We've survived many, many catastrophic events in the past. Black plague, the countless wars over history, floods, tsunamis, etc, etc. We'll survive for many more generations. We're good at that. We're only getting better at it too. Once we start colonizing other worlds, we can neve go extinct.

Our civilization has only been around for around 6000 years. That's a speck of dust in the grand scheme of things. We've accomplished a lot in just 100 years since the industrial revolution. Imagine what we will do in 100,000 years.

Sure, but how is it determined that you are who you are? Are you really who you are?

There's probably some kind of energy or matter that we still haven't detected. Maybe that matter or energy is what allows us to be who we are and maybe allows us to reincarnate whenever we die.

Or...the life that we have now is it. There isn't anything else. However, it still begs the question: How does one become aware of who they are? As of now, I am who I am. What made that possible? Did I choose this before I was born? What determines someone becoming who they "are" and not something else or someone else. So yeah....I'm leaning towards there being something that makes us who we are, and reincarnation being a possibility. Or maybe we're just part of the same consciousness and no one is unique.
