Spiders dont spread disease.
Spiders kill things that spread disease.
Spiders have eight legs which isnt any stranger than humans having ten fingers.

Because they look feaky. 8 legs, several pairs of eyes..covered in bristles. If they looked cute like butterflies people wouldn't be freaked out by them.

ancestral blood memory. people come from Africa where spiders are dangerous as fuck. even if you live in a place where the spiders are harmless you might still be afraid of them for that reason. Im not personally, I like spiders

They're no different than grotesque monsters in a movie. A lot of insects are grotesque. Also, humans evolved to be afraid of them.

Thing is... they do. They're adorable. People just dont look closely enough.

Also, like all bugs, they're not sanitary/can be dangerous. They are disgusting. Without your consent, they'll make webs, and infest all over the place.

You should be afraid of Black Widows. They have powerful venom and are highly aggressive if their webs are disturbed. Also they like spinning webs in toilets.

They're not "aggressive" if they only attack when their webs are disturbed, Duncan.

I love spiders and I always try to just leave them be, tho I often have to move a huntsman out of the shower in the morning.

if you live in a place with recluse spiders and the like then maybe.

I saw a spider the other day. Horrible creatures.

Apes and cavemen that were wary of spiders had a better chance of survival and reproduced. Apparently that instinct is embedded in our dna.

I have arachnophobia. I know they're harmless, but just knowing there is one around outs me on edge. Worse if I see it. If one gets on me I start flailing around uncontrollably lol.

The worst thing is that you're never safe from encountering one. They could be anywhere. On the ground, on a wall, on the ceiling, even hanging in the air. Can pop out from under anything at any time, or just drop or jump on you.

All that being said, I hate killing them and try my best to relocate them if possible.

I try, sometimes it's too much to handle and I just flee. I try to get them to lower on a web so I can get them on the end of a broom stick but they like to yeet themselves if the web moves too much. >_<
I won't get close to them, so if that method isn't viable I try to shoo them out.

It's totally irrational and I hate it. Can barely stand to look at pictures or videos of them. Even though they are kinda cute I just can't handle it.

The small ones are the size of your hand and they hide in the toilet paper roll, in your shoes and they lower themselves from the roof onto your face while you sleep or while youre driving

I grew up in a house with tons of brown recluses and the somewhat frequent appearance of a black widow. My brother was bitten by a brown recluse on the arm and it was the gnarliest thing I'd ever seen up to that point in my life, so I just had a kill on sight policy for any brown spiders, even after we moved. Didn't want to risk it.

I ended up doing a deep dive into spiders to try to get over my fear and realized indiscriminate killing wasn't the way to go. I won't even kill brown recluses anymore, though it's been quite a while since I've seen one and even longer since I saw a black widow.

Cuz they spin webs that catch my face every morning. Little assholes

Nothing much, just the possibility of getting bit / poisoned. No biggie, right?

When I was a kid I was kind of afraid of spiders, and there was a big ass spider on the playground. All the kids dared me to pick it up, I REALLY didn't want to, but I wasn't about to look like a bitch in front of everyone so I stuffed my fear down, basically like held my breath, and picked the spider up. Shockingly to a bunch of dumb ass kids, the spider didn't turn into a ravenous beast and was just chill as fuck crawling on my hand.

I picked up spiders more and more as a kid, usually to let them outside or just if I saw a chill lookin one outside. I never got bit a single time and just kind of realized that that is literally nothing to be afraid of. 70% of the time they just chill walk on you. The other 30% they are just dashing to get off of you, which is fine too. Fuck spider killers.

Spiders are an inborn fear. them and snakes. Babies naturally fear them compared to other animals/insects.

Most spiders don't want to fuck with humans. Even the threat of black widows is overstated (Though you'll still want medical treatment).

I'm fine with spiders, so long as they don't get too close. Even then I've never had to kill a spider.

It's roaches/wasps/certain flying insects that freak me out.

Thank goodness I didn't get the snake phobia too. Snakes don't bother me at all. Dad though, he's as afraid of snakes as I am of spiders. lol

It's kind of weird but spiders are one of those creatures that are alot less scary in drawing and animations then real life to most how I see it.

Spiders are bugs. That's all the reason needed.

Brown Recluse bit one of my friends cousin. His leg shriveled up and lost most of the muscle on that leg. He has to walk with a cane so yeah. Certain spiders, kill em with fire.

Having 8 legs is way different than ten fingers
