From what I know, the cardboard designs were just internal prototypes. But then they were having so much fun with them that they decided to turn it into a real product. No idea why they decided to charge so damn much for them though.

Ever since Covid, I use Amazon Fresh delivery almost exclusively. I tried instacart 2 times and they replaced or refunded like 90% of my selections, which is annoying as hell. Never again with them.

I've gone in person like 2 or 3 times, because there are some things Amazon doesn't carry. But I go to a grocery store in a nicer neighborhood. The one near me sucks ass.

We all know that anime characters don't age. Ash from Pokmon has been a kid since 1997. He should be a grizzled veteran by now lol.

I think it looks like a fun movie. I'll see it if I match with someone that also wants to see it.

Yeah, it seriously blew my mind. No other product flew off the shelves like soda. There were so many pallets, they'd probably crush you to death, no joke, if they fell over. Almost half of our warehouse space was permanently reserved for these mountains.

I can't really shit talk though, because I used to go in and buy 3 of the 2-liter bottles each week. They were almost always on a 3 for $5 deal lol.

I can't remember the actual numbers. This was over a decade ago. But we had an entire aisle purely dedicated to soda. Whereas most aisles would get restocked once or twice a day, this aisle needed constant replenishment. One employee dedicated at the store, plus employees from the major companies like Coke and Pepsi that would come in to check and restock their own products. Usually people have ideas that there's a "magical back room" in supermarkets that has everything in stock, which is false. There might be a few items back there, but the majority is often on the floor. Except for the soda. We had mountains of pallets of soda. Stacked literally 3+ stories tall. Because those quantities were necessary to replenish it constantly.

Oh yeah, I used to work as a merchandiser for Coca-Cola back in 2007. For some of the bigger stores, we had dozens of pallets in the back room. Some of the stores needed us there multiple times a day to restock the soda on the shelves.

I drink energy drinks regularly. I've cut down a lot on soda though.

I really hope you're just telling a really bad joke here, because if this is how you really feel you should seek professional help. And I don't mean that in a demeaning way, it's a very terrible way to look at life.

Where I live the temperature ranges from -40F (or colder) to 110F on the hottest days (typically low 90s).

So yah. 74F isn't anywhere near cold even for someone used to hot weather.

It's mostly about how cold it normally gets where you live. Like for LA, it rarely goes below 60. So once, when it dropped to like 54, that was quite literally, the coldest weather I've ever experienced.

I don't care if it gets down to 0 somewhere else, I've never actually experienced temperatures that low, so to me, 54 is cold. That's what people need to understand when they start gatekeeping being cold.

I played the series on Steam for the first time earlier this year. A topic praising Disgaea inspired me to try it. Mostly everyone recommended Disgaea 5 and that felt like a good starting point.

The story was kind of weird, not gonna lie, but the gameplay was a lot of fun. There are a lot of mechanics, but the game gives you plenty of tutorials.

And the max level is 9999. I used cheat engine to reduce some of that postgame grind though lol. Had other games to play.

Lol this topic reminds me of the time I said that it was cold in Los Angeles (around 62) and some guys that moved here from Montana went "you think this is cold? It gets much colder in Montana."

Near the coast you cannot beat the weather. You only get below 50 in the middle of winter at night. You only get above 90 in the middle of summer midday. And those are during cold/hot spells. Outside of the coast is a whole different story. The central valley gets really hot in the summer.

Oh this is a good one. I know some people expect the whole state to be pleasant weather all the time. But some parts of Cali hit 110+ during the summer.

I've lived here for 5 years and have felt 1 earthquake and the only reason I even noticed it was because the window shades were moving. It's completely a overblown myth.

I don't know if I'd call it overblown. If you look at earthquakes that were over 5.0 magnitude, Alaska and California have far far more than every other state. Between 2010 and 2021, there were 9 quakes in California above 5.0. You may not notice them all because they happen further north usually.

I'm getting wildly different answers from different websites. Kohls says that a 42 in Europe is a 8.5 in the US. But Famous Footwear says a 42 is the same as an 11...

Born and raised here in Los Angeles and I love it here. Couldn't imagine living in any other state.

I'm not that familiar with the bay area, but I hear some parts of San Francisco are even more expensive than LA, so... be prepared for a high cost of living up there.

Size 12 shoes usually. Maybe 11.5 or 12.5 depending on the make/style.

I just want a Sim's game that has customization options that are much more in depth. Like really let you create all kinds of body shapes. Sliders for everything separately, not just fat/skinny that changes the entire body at once. I want to be able to make things like a guy with muscular arms and a beer belly.

Yeah I saw it Sunday. It was pretty good. The end really got me because it was like "yay she beat it! She's not gonna die!" Then it was like nope, that was all in her mind, she never left the old house.

Yeah either intimidation or misinformation. I remember when I worked at McDonald's, there was a union trying to have us join. The store manager convinced everyone that they were trying to sabotage the store and warned us that the union would try to intimidate us.

So we had to let a manager know if a union member showed up, so they could protect us from the union. I was young and didn't know better, so I believed it. It's funny looking back on how ridiculous that was.
