You literally are throwing away thousands of dollars by not working.
It depends entirely on the job. For example, I get a pretty healthy accrual of paid time off. I could take a paid vacation on my last week and then start my new job with no loss of pay.

And sometimes you just want a break. Work can be stressful, and you don't want to start a brand new job while you're still stressed out from your previous one.

Dude. I've attempted this game 3 times so far. That scene always gets me so pumped and gives me false hope Im actually gonna love the game this time around. But then it drip feeds you story while making you do the same exact gameplay over and over and over again. I only ever get like 10 hours in. If they would of paced it like Mafia II, it would of been an amazing game. Even though Mafia II made you do boring shit, it showed that diversity in gameplay still makes a difference. It switches up and doesn't become numbingly bad
Yeah, that's the main issue I have with the game. The story is great, but the gameplay is mind-numbingly repetitive.

You know, despite the hate it's getting, I still plan on trying it out, since it's free to play now. My original copy of Overwatch was stolen back in 2018 and I never felt like buying another copy and re-learning the ever changing meta. This gives me a chance to see everything that I missed the last 4 years. I definitely won't be spending money though.

For me, arcades peaked in the early 2000's. We had a mini-golf place here that had a huge arcade. It was heaven. All of the games from the late 90's, plus all of the early 2000's games. So there was X-men vs Street Fighter, Capcpm vs SNK, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter 3, Soul Calibur 2, Tekken 3, House of the Dead III, Time Crisis 3, Dance Dance Revolution, tons of racing games like Initial D, even older games like Pacman. I was bummed when that place closed down.

UnfairRepresent posted...
I mean I'm not against the sentiment but demanding a "Gay people exist and we need to talk about them and stop you from being a jerk to them!" seems like an odd lesson to force on every school

I mean what class would you even slip that into? When children are learning ABCs and the difference between a house and a tree?

Isn't "Don't be a dick" by itself enough?
That's too simplistic of an approach. That's like a teacher telling a bully "Don't be a bully" and expecting it to solve anything.

I'm not sure this is something you can codify into a school curriculum.

How do you insert "more gay people into the history books" just talk about Oscar Wilde all day?

Take WW2 for example. How do you talk about the Eastern Front and Neville Chamberlain and Rommel's tank deployments in Africa in way that is more LGBTQ inclusive?

You can't, so do you take that WW2 lesson and instead teach about how Leonardo Da Vinci may or may not have enjoyed playing hide the pickle with his lad friends while painting?

It doesn't fit.
You can absolutely make lessons LGTBQ+ inclusive. It doesn't have to turn every lesson into that, but you can include pioneers of the LGTBQ+ community. Include things such as the Scientific-Humanitarian Committee, the first LGBT rights organization in history. Or poetry from Elsa Gidlow, who published the first openly lesbian love poetry in the US.

And just like we have lessons on Civil Rights movements and legislation, we should have lessons on LGBTQ+ Rights movements and legislation. There's a lot that can be taught. It is as much a part of history as everything else.

Not to mention everything that should be changed about health classes.

I get the emotion here but I'm not sure these are pragmatic or quantifiable ideas. If anything they will just give Jesus Freaks a chance to REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and be bigger dicks to gay people.
To be fair, they're going to REEEEE regardless, so might as well doing something constructive while they have their meltdowns over there.

I went to summer camp every year until I reached middle school. At that point, my mom was okay with me being home by myself while she was at work, so she didn't force me to go to camp. A lot of my elementary school friends also went to summer camp. But they weren't the "you go stay at camp all summer" kind of camps. We're in the middle of Los Angeles, it was just going to a school and playing, doing arts and crafts, going on field trips, etc., and going home at the end of the day

But, for reference, we were middle class. My elementary school was a private school that charged tuition.

From that article:

Nobody is suggesting that Facebook is at risk of going out of business. The company still has a dominant position in mobile advertising and has one of the most profitable business models on the planet. Even with a 36% drop in net income in the latest quarter from the prior year, Meta generated $6.7 billion in profit and ended the period with over $40 billion in cash and marketable securities.

The Wall Street problem for Facebook is that its no longer a growth story. Up until this year, thats the only thing its known.

I dont see it spiraling in terms of cash flows in the next few years, but Im just worried that theyre not winning the next generation, said Jeremy Bondy, CEO of app marketing firm Liftoff.

TopicWhy do people like Persona 5 so much? Why do you like it? What's so great?
NoxObscuras
10/01/22 3:44:37 PM

Hmm... Sunhawk topic... But fuck it, I like talking about Persona, so I'll give a serious answer.

I actually stumbled upon the series in 2007 after I was looking for a new JRPG to play on the PS2. That was just after Persona 4 came out. The characters were relatable to me because, back in 2007, I was 18 and had just finished high school not long before that.

And I loved that it wasn't just a traditional turn based combat JRPG, but it had the whole high school student aspect that you had to balance as well. That made it unique, in that part of the game's difficulty came with learning how to manage your time. Certain things were only available on certain days, or at certain times of the day. So you had to plan things correctly, or you wouldn't have enough days to max everything. And if you didn't give yourself enough time to finish the dungeons, you'd get a game over.

And then there's the Persona system itself. It's almost like a monster catching game. Lots of different Persona's with different strengths and weaknesses. But instead of capturing new ones, you have to fuse your existing Persona to gain new, stronger ones. So it's fun fusing them and seeing what new Persona you get. And fusing them lets them learn moves they normally wouldn't learn. So you get some fun shenanigans depending on how you fuse them.

Those aspects are true for Persona 5 as well. There's just so much to these games and it's a lot of fun. But Persona 4 is actually my favorite, not 5.
