Bocchi the Rock does a great job having its music performances feel like actual parts of the story as opposed to just an excuse to show off a music video, but I wouldn't exactly claim that it has good music--I think the songs were pretty middling overall.

The show overall was fantastic though.

I think Steins;Gate has a great dub, but at the same time the subbed version has multiple of the strongest voice acting performances I can recall from any anime.

I don't have especially high expectations for the Cold Steel anime either way but I will say that the games had pretty uninspired OP's also.

For me it was 1> 2 > 3 without any really being close to each other

Apparently just in time for The Fallen Land though which is honestly one of my all time favorite vgm songs. (The day version that is, but this is also very good)

I was a fan of Superstar Saga but I never really got the love for Bowser's Inside Story, which I didn't like at all and was my least favorite in the series. As far as I'm concerned none of the games after Superstar Saga managed to capture the same level of charm and fun exploration.

Though, to be fair I don't exactly consider Superstar Saga a must-play or anything either.

I think 2 would have worked reasonably well also. 3 movies was...questionable shall we say.

Also realizing the scene with Smaug was in movie 2 makes me realize I just actually don't remember anything from movie 3. Wasn't this like 90% of the way through the book or am I forgetting how much stuff was actually in the finale?

Solid results though. Sad about LoL losing but I can't complain too much with that specific matchup.

They're both among the worst of all time.

I liked the politician a lot, definitely one of the best confidants in P5.

Overall my favorites are Nanako/Dojima and the Sun social link from P3 by a pretty clear margin. I will say P5 probably has the highest median social link quality of the 3 games though imo.

Edit: Actually "median" is the wrong term for what I'm really thinking of...what I mean is that P5 has the highest percentage of its social links "above the bar", whatever you take that to mean.

I don't like Bebop as much as most seem to but it's a pretty good show. I like the finale but overall it's more about the ride than the destination. I think the finale is more to make it so the show doesn't arbitrarily stop than because they just really wanted to tell this ongoing story about Spike.

To be fair I think Musk was trying to be sarcastic to that thread since he also responded with laughing emojis to other posts. Of course, even if he was, he's still pointlessly drawing attention in the best case scenario.

My reading was that there was a decent chance of this but I didn't bother to say anything because it's awful either way, just different kinds of awful. (Also "decent chance" is nowhere near "100% certain")

Face of the Deep is probably a good song but I am absolutely 100% not the target audience for it. I don't like Uncontrollable much either but alas.

There are a handful of specific scenes I think the Hobbit movies did really well and the game of riddles was one of them.

I actually looked at this today and it looks like there's currently a problem with the subbed version where the subtitles are all out of sync.

I watched the English dub for this show and thought it was pretty good, but figured I'd mention this in case you want to watch the subbed version since right now it's near unwatchable on Crunchy.

I'm guessing it's something related to the Funimation/Crunchyroll transfer and that the version on Funi won't have the same issue, but I don't have a premium account there so I can't check.

Think I voted against my preferred soundtrack in every match today (though Melee vs 3H is pretty close), so I hope all my votes lose.

I actually really liked the first of the Hobbit movies, to the point that I'd almost put it in the same category as the Lord of the Rings movies.

The other movies are all fine and only really look bad if you're comparing them to LotR which is a bit unfair considering they are some of the best movies of all time imo.

NFUN halting the rotation of the Earth just so we have time to vote in a vgm contest. The hero we needed.

I've been liking Raven of the Inner Palace overall (only about halfway through), but it wouldn't surprise me if it's not the greatest adaptation. It's one of those shows that focuses a lot on dialogue, and the dialogue is reasonably well-written, but the show doesn't feel well-realized otherwise.

I obviously wanted Ring Ring Ring to win since I voted for it and nominated the game, but this much of a blowout makes me sad because this is probably my favorite Sonic Adventure song I'm aware of. I've actually liked the Sonic music in this contest in general much more than I usually seem to.

When the Heart Ignites is frustrating because it would be close to a 10/10 song if you replaced the whistling with just about any instrument (probably trumpet being ideal), but instead we get a lukewarm song that just doesn't entirely work at either of the styles it's going for. I have to imagine most possible matchups between these games I'd have voted for Wild Arms, but definitely not this one.

All easy matches and let's just say it's not because there's any particular song today I love.

The ending episode could maybe have been a bit better I think, but overall this was just a really great show. Definitely think this deserves the praise it's been getting lately.

The trailer for the game on Steam is a bit on the nose, but I think it does a reasonable job of communicating the tone and the type of game it is.

Edit: I recommend not reading the synopsis on the Steam page though...nothing major but I still think it provides a bit too much detail.

Taking a very quick glance through them. Honestly nothing I'm super thrilled about. Will watch Bofuri season 2 and the Trails of Cold Steel but those are pretty much the only guarantees. And even in those cases; I'm not a huge Bofuri fan, and though I am a huge Trails fan I don't have especially high expectations for this anime.

That said my favorite discovery is almost certainly the Persona 2 Opening theme. Honorable mention to the Genshin Impact soundtrack in general, though it actually turns out most of my favorite songs I found from that weren't on the BOST setlist >.>

Yeah that's my problem to, especially because I basically didn't have time to listen to songs in full during nominations either.

I've done this sometimes for anime where the premise sounds bad but there's a lot of hype behind the series. Either the series will actually be good or I gain the ability to proclaim the series as worthless while having a leg to stand on, so it's really a win-win scenario.

Come to think of it a relevant show that is not on Roba's list is Azumanga Daioh...

I don't want to use my recommendation on it though even though I did like the show.

I can see it from the standpoint that the thematic content of the show is about emotional healing, but I feel like that's wildly missing the point of the genre tag.

Anyway I liked the show the show reasonably well myself, mostly because of Rei's character arc. Generally agree that the shogi scenes weren't great, though I did like the match towards the end of the second season.

Every time I see this topic it throws me for a loop because I bought the game for $20 something like 2 weeks after it got an English release.

This version has more content that was originally released as DLC/separate games, but it still feels bizarre to see.

Good game though, yes.
