To Far Away Times has never been one of my favorites from Chrono Trigger, but I'm not huge on the other song either.

Yeah I'm definitely glad you liked it. Personally it's one of my favorites but given the show's (lack of) popularity the recommendation could have gone either way. Though I was specifically going for "type of show I think Roba might like but would probably never watch otherwise."

Honestly the show is probably just my favorite slice-of-life show. But yeah I don't think the show's intent is about setting up specific cathartic moments, though I did quite like the school closing ceremony near the end. But it's more the type of show where you watch how the characters act in specific situations and (at least for me) by the end you're left with the sense that everyone has changed for the better. Very uplifting show to me at least.

If it makes you feel better you can pretend I got home in time to listen to the songs and vote for Aruella.

I never watched the movies but I definitely agree on the other 2 points.

I actually liked the final arc a fair amount despite not really enjoying most of the rest of the season. I do not think Roba is going to like that part though >.>)

Oh lord I forgot about the gigantic pizza Code Geass sure was a show.

(To be fair I've forgotten most things about Code Geass...)

I don't think it's that surprising to have not heard of the Trails series for people who aren't big on jrpg's, and even then I knew of Trails in the Sky as an individual game for a lot longer than I knew that there was an entire series of games.

Against my better judgment I decided to try out Ranking of Kings.

Ok this time everyone else was right this show is pretty good so far.

I'm probably in the minority on this, but the reason I like Kaguya-sama isn't really because I think it's a great romance. I like the show more as a comedy about romance than as a romance itself, if that makes sense.

Watched I'm Quitting Heroing.

There was basically nothing remarkable about this show, but it was good fun, which is more than a lot of shows can say. Feels like I should be watching more of these silly looking fantasy shows, because while they're rarely impressive they manage to be at least above the bar with pretty high frequency.

I still remember several of my childhood friend's numbers as well as my old home and my parents' cell phones.

I did read that the author posted something on Twitter saying they would have to release chapters faster, so it might be that they're targeting a sooner date than what I said.

(To be clear, the current manga pace is something like 4 chapters a year, and I definitely think there is room to go faster than that without them being rushed)

Reading that another season/movie/something for Made in Abyss has been confirmed...which is great but also seems like odd timing considering at the current pace there will not be enough manga content for another season until 2026 or something.

Hopefully this doesn't mean they're going to rush the mangaka or make up their own stuff.

I feel like people were really big on Whispering You a Love Song at first but that I haven't heard much about it in a long time. That said I am still excited for the anime and will absolutely be watching it.

I've already been let down several times by anime adaptations of popular yuri works (Citrus, maybe Adachi and Shimamura) so it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary either way.

I was going to make a poll about the stupidest light novel titles if there was no topic when I got back from work, and honestly this poll is almost indistinguishable.

I still never watched season 3 despite this being one of my favorite anime oops.

I didn't watch Chainsaw Man and have no plans on it because the odds of me liking a show with that aesthetic and style is very small.

Mine was easily Made in Abyss S2 as well but I don't think I watched more than 10-15 shows.

Edit: I have 15 but half of those I didn't make it past episode 3

Gamecube controller has it on the right which was my first thought video game-wise since I used to play Smash competitively.

Really though since I'm reading this on a website on a computer I just automatically assume it's about the X key on the keyboard.

That was...very good. I had this pegged as a middling fantasy show, but if it can keep that up then it's definitely going to be one of the best shows of the year.

To me the existence of End of Evangelion basically saves the series from an absolute trainwreck of a final stretch that would have irreparably damaged how I view the franchise >.>

I never totally figured out how Evangelion got as popular as it did either. I more or less liked it but it's a very hit-or-miss show. I've always thought its popularity had as much to do with timing as anything.

I will say I think it's (deliberately) a show that's very difficult to engage with on a literal level. It basically sinks or swims by how well its thematic content lands with you.

(Well, ok, I guess there's also people that can enjoy shows purely on their technical merits, which are quite good in this case, but I have so little in common with this type of anime fan that I tend to just ignore them)

The current reaction to the episode is probably what happened in a certain other Sunrise anime with a certain Eleven-hating princess.

For the record yes this part of the "other Sunrise anime" makes my shortlist of picks for worst aspect of any anime I have watched ever.

It was the scene you guys originally thought; I just meant that it was not from the perspective that I might not like violence or gore in shows on principle.

At the end of the day I don't know wtf I'm talking about, but the scene and surrounding discussion suggest the character arc the show is trying to portray with Suletta is not one I have much patience for, and is enough of a red flag that I'm going to invest my time in other shows instead.

I should also mention I'm not much of a Gundam fan in general and was originally considering checking this out despite that.

This specifically doesn't bother me and wouldn't make me react the way I did.

I can't be certain that I'm interpreting things correctly as far as my actual issues go since I haven't watched the show and therefore don't have the full picture, but it's not just this.

You know normally I'd be upset about overzealous social media posts spoiling ongoing shows for me for no reason. I'm pretty sure though in this case they actually did me a favor, since I was planning on watching it eventually, but now I know I shouldn't be touching the series with a twenty foot pole.

Watched a few episode 1's:

The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady: This was pretty good overall, with the caveat that it's being a bit too indirect with portraying its character dynamics. I can't actually tell if the implication of the scene at the end of this episode is that Euphyllia was set up by Al and/or Lainie or if she was actually being horribly abusive to this girl and somehow didn't realize it.

Trails of Cold Steel The Northern War: This was fine. I don't think this will knock anyone's socks off, but if you're a fan of the games and looking for more Trails content I certainly think it will scratch that itch. Tentatively they also seem to be setting things up for the climax reasonably well.

Match 2 one of the best matches we've had so far.

Honestly I think I would have liked Revue Starlight a lot more if I hadn't seen Utena first. Which is a bit unfair to Revue Starlight especially considering Utena isn't my favorite show ever or anything, but yeah.
