I'd advise you to read the manga, the anime cut a lot of shit out at the beginning. Like that scene you first see in where that girl gets freaked out and runs away from him? That was totally different in the manga.

I think the most cruel job of them all was having several pages of Piccolo hyping up Vegeta just as he's about to deliver the final blow to the bad guy only for very next 2 pages the bad guy pulls a ruse becomes more powerful than before and one shots Vegeta with his own Big Bang Attack mockingly saying that despite the name it's just a regular ki blast, no doubt in my mind Toriyama controls the Super Manga far more than than any anime related business.
